Advantages: Good coverage, great consistency

Disadvantages: Expensive

Another day, another voucher. No sooner do I get rid of one of Boot's No7 vouchers that another one appears in my hand from various members of my family who know that I find it hard to resist buying new make up! On this occasion I put my £5 voucher towards No7 Blemish concealer.

This concealer comes in a stylish satin gold lipstick shaped packaging and the thing that I like most about it is that it is very discreet. It is very plain and simple packaging and certainly does not have "Blemish stick" written all over it like some other brands - do I really need to advertise that I've got a spot: No! The lid snaps on firmly and the twisting action of the tube is very smooth and oozes quality. You get 3g of this product and it is available in four shades; Extra fair, fair, medium and dark. I have fairly pale skin and usually choose the lightest shade, but on this occasion I went for fair as the lightest shade is bordering on albino!

The product has a fairly oily appearance and on application it feels very creamy but once it is on your skin it quickly becomes powdery and leaves you with a matt finish. I always apply foundation first, and then blend in concealer onto any dark circles and blemishes and I find this product really easy to blend and smudge around. It gives good coverage and conceals spots well, covering over any redness with ease. I also find it ideal for under my eyes to cover dark circles - again, it covers well and it does not seem to gather in fine lines. I apply the concealer with a clean finger then dab over any imperfections as I find that if I use a brush, or apply the actual stick to a spot, it tends to spread the infection. Of course this is my personal preference, and you can use which ever method that suits you best. With a swipe of pressed powder over the concealer you are left with a flawless complexion.

I have found that I need to touch up this concealer several times a day, but again, you can do that with ease without it clogging on your skin and leaving you with thick and unnaturally made up areas. It feels light, soft and smooth on the skin and does not have a drying out effect at all. I find this useful as I do not want to dry out the skin under my eyes, but if you are using this more on spots, you might want something a little less greasy and something more medicated.

Removing this product is simple - I usually wash my face at the end of the day with a facial wash and it all comes off in one go, but it is also easily removed with ordinary make - up remover on cotton wool or cleansing wipes. Boots No7 blemish concealer is hypo allergenic and also fragrance free. Boots state that it will control shine for up to twelve hours, but I do not really understand why you need this function with a concealer - foundation and powder: yes, but as you are not going to smother concealer all over your face, it seems to me an unnecessary thing for a concealer to do!

It is currently on sale for £7.50 in Boots stores which I think is a little expensive for concealer, but I suppose that the price is on par with No7 products. I would not pay that much for a concealer as I have used others that are cheaper and are Just as good, but if you can get your hands on a £5 off voucher like I did, this is definitely worth a try.

Summary: I am very happy to use this to conceal the truth
