I have always used No7 products as they are a well known brand and also good value, I have always found they have delivered good results so when I saw this blusher recently I was excited to give it a go.
The blusher is called mineral perfection and states that it contains minerals and precious gem complex which provides a natural shimmer glow.
The blusher (as all No7 products) is packaged well and looks more expensive than it is. I am always attracted to their products for this reason. This blusher comes in a black box which simply has the product name and the ingredients on it. It also advises you how to use the product. There are 2 different shades to choose from, I chose the rose pink one it cost around £9.
I started to use the blusher the very next day and was really pleased with it. I didn't use the brush that was provided as I have my own blusher brush. The shade was lovely and pink, you don't need to apply much at all and I think it looks really natural. The powder is very easy to apply and it stayed in place all day which sometimes does not happen with other blushers I have used.
I have sensitive skin but it did not affect this at all, in certain lights the blusher shimmered which looks nice but not too much if you know what I mean. I have done whole days at work and it has stayed looking nice all day so it is definitely good value as the pot will last ages.
I would definitely recommend this to anyone of any age it is a fantastic product at a great price, you also get the added bonus of getting your boots points too!
I bought this last week when I had a spare No. 7 voucher. The usual price of the blusher is £9.00, I paid just £4.00 for it with my voucher.
The great thing about the blusher is that you get a natural bristle brush included in the pack. I wasn't aware of this so it was a nice surprise when I got home! The brush is black and colour and it's an excellent quality brush too. The blusher comes in a small round shaker pot. The blusher is available in two shades. You can choose from either Soft Damson or Rose Pink. I decided to choose Rose Pink with the hope that if I liked it i'd go back for the other one!
The blusher is made from natural minerals so it is suitable for sensitive skin. The blusher is a powder and the Rose Pink is a gorgeous dark pink shade. I find that the blusher is easy to pick up with the brush, although I would suggest that you shake off the excess and only use what is needed on the brush. The blusher is easy to apply. I just sweep the brush across my cheekbones and within seconds my cheekbones have a gorgeous flush of colour. The end result is amazing. The blusher really does highlight my cheekbones and it seems to make my face appear thinner, which is another bonus!
The blusher will last ages as you only need a small amount of it per application. A little goes a long way. I suspect that the brush will last you a good while too as it is excellent quality and the bristles don't tend to fall out. If you are looking for a decent mineral blusher then I would recommend this one.
I've never been a huge fan of blusher growing up, so when I went looking for my first real blusher, I went for the No.7 range at Boots to not only avoid disappointment, but to also avoid having to try 5 or so different blushers before ending up settling for a more expensive one anyway.
Other than the trusty well known brand, it was also the blusher brush you get with this pot which won me. When looking through the others at boots, I didn't have a clue which brush I needed nor how much a decent one of these would cost me. So to find the No.7 blusher along with its own No.7 branded blusher brush was brilliant.
At first, I wasn't very happy that I had to spend what I thought was a hefty amount for an item of makeup which I didn't plan on using a hell of a lot. However as time went on, I have been using the blusher more and more and now my opinions have completely changed.
***Price & Range***
This mineral perfection blusher is sold at £9 per 4g pot at Boots which does sound a lot compared to other blushers which can be found much, much cheaper. But I've found with No 7, you generally pay for the brand and with this blusher for me it was worth it.
Especially with the £5 boots vouchers you can find quite frequently, you could end up buying this blusher for just £4... a bargain!
As far as I know, this blusher can only be bought in two different shades;
I went for the Soft Damson; this was because, when trying the two in store I thought the pink shade was a little 'too pink' for me. This shade is probably more preferable for people with very fair skin as it is very light and looks very fake against my skin tone!
As my mum has dark skinned, I am fortunate enough to have light skin which appears tanned which I love, especially in the winter.
However because of this, I do need to be more careful when choosing makeup to ensure I don't end up looking too pale, orange or in this case... pink!
The soft damson I find perfect for me although having said this, it isn't dark. I find it to be the perfect shade of pink without looking fake and it settles on my skin perfect.
The blusher from the No7 range I find is very light to the skin. It is silky, powdery and very easy to apply. As it is very light, I find it blends in perfectly without too much effort.
When I use this blusher, I tend to just use the excess blusher which has gathered in the twist on lid and then following on to using more from the pot if needed.
Picking a little up onto the brush in a few little swipes holds very well without staining or sticking to the brush. The blusher powder sits on the ends of the bristles and is very light and silky to apply.
When applied to my skin, I find it sits gently and is very easy to apply without it looking blotchy or contrasted. By this I mean I don't find when applying that the powder sticks together in clumps, it evens and blends in very well with great results with little effort.
The powder is easy to spread if you accidentally apply a large amount to one area and want to either remove a little or spread it out.
The lasting effects of this blusher are changeable. In some ways I do wish No7 improved the blusher so it would last longer with little amounts applied, however I have learnt to work around this and apply the blusher so that it lasts the right amount of time without making me look like an embarrassed blossom.
I have found when I only apply a little blusher, for example the excess in the lid I use for every day use- the blusher doesn't really last long. I don't like to apply much blusher when not necessary, I don't know why, I just don't.
When I only use a small amount, it is noticeable when I apply it- in fact too noticeable at times. However by a few hours later, the blusher has faded and can barely be seen, if at all!
When removing my makeup, the blusher cant even be seen on my wipes which shows it has completely gone from my face.
When using a larger amount of this blusher, it lasts longer and can last the length of the day. However for this to be successful, I feel like I have to apply a thick patch of pink to my cheeks and leave the house looking like a clown before it fades to a more natural look.
This must just be me though, as I have read many good reviews about this blusher.
The pots bought from boots only come in a 4g size. This sounds tiny but it does last. I have had my blusher for well over 6 months now and still have about 20% left.
***The Brush and Pot***
With this blusher comes a branded No7 brush. The size of the brush is perfect to fit into my makeup bag along side my blusher without taking up too much room.
The brush itself has black bristles with a gold body and black rounded bottom.
It is the bottom which holds the No7 logo which for me is unfortunate as my brush has lost it's logo! A few months ago, the bottom popped off and even though I placed it back on, it kept falling off in my hand which ended up being very irritating. The bottom has recently grown legs and disappeared, but I'm not too fussed as I will get a new brush with my next purchase of blusher.
The brush is surprisingly very soft and smooth. I expected it to be rough and cheaply made considering it comes free with the blusher and is probably thrown away after each new purchase of the blusher. Although I have found it is smooth to use and I actually love it!
I haven't had any problems with it irritating my skin and find it can be also used to apply other makeup such as powdered foundation as the bristles are great at not holding onto your makeup. You can apply your foundation and then go onto applying your blusher with the same brush and not worry about walking out with pink skin from the excess blusher you would expect to find.
The pot, being relatively small is also a great size for keeping in your makeup bag. The lid is a screw on which at first I didn't like, but I have had no problems with the tub in terms of removing and replacing the lid. It is easy to screw off and not fiddly to replace.
The lid is black, holding the No7 logo and the bottom is transparent so you can see through to see the amount of blusher you have remaining... which gives you a head start to save up for your next purchase!
Inside the pot, found in most blusher pots is a plastic separator with holes which is handy at containing the blusher and not letting too much powder through. This is useful at avoiding applying too much blusher when in a rush yet also avoids too much spillage if you were to accidentally drop the pot without the lid.
Overall, the price may be steep compared to others but I will try this one again as it has last me a long time and although it doesn't last all day usually for me, I can apply more when needed for example on special occasions. The blusher blends in great and matches my skin tone lovely, so for me this is a win. Thanks No 7!
Thank you for reading, I also post on Ciao
-*-*Packaging and Contents-*-*
This mineral blusher is contained in a black box, with printed copyrighted logos and information on the front. No7 are widely known for their black signiture packaging. Inside the box, you have two things: the blusher and the brush (nicely contained in a little black satin bag). The blusher itself, is in a black tub with an applicator sticker which prevents the blusher spilling out and being wasted. My blusher inparticular, is in (Rose Pink). So, in my case, it's bright pink shimmery dush. The Brush, is not too large and fits perfectly in the slot for it in the box. I think the thing about this brush is that it has the No7 logo printed in gold on the bottom, it stands out too me, so therefore it looks more pretty ( I notice things like that!)
To apply this product, simply unfold from the packaging and open the lid to reveal the blusher. There is a protective sticker on the blusher, which can easily be peeled on and re-applied. What I do, is slightly remove the lid and lightly tap the container, leaving an amount of loose powder on the lid. Then, I swirl it into my brush and apply gently to my cheekbones and sometimes forehead. The brush is really useful as it fits perfectly into the lid of the product, leaving the perfect amount of product on the brush needed for application. When you are applying the product to your face, make sure you are applying it to your neck, very gently as this gives a good contrast to the complexion.
To be quite honest with you, I was immensly shocked by the results as you would expect the volour to be more full on and emphasize your face, but it didn't! Once you have applied the product, it leaves a clear, natural complexion with a clean, mineral finish. When I apply this to my cheeks, it feels natural to me. Most Blsuhers are very full on and loud, as I say! This colour is very subtle, leaving a very bright colour which catches in the light. When I take photos wearing this blusher, it really essensuates my cheekbones; almost highlighting them. I definitely recommend this product if you prefer a pretty natural looks as opposed to a loud, movie-star look!
Unfortunately, these products are only available in Boots stores as No7 is a Boots own brand. However, not an economy brand, but a high standard classy brand consistently mentioned in fashion magazines and sometimes by celebrities. I do feel that the price for this is rather over the top, but I still pay it every months for the perfect natural finish. In the packet, you get 4g, which may not seem like a lot. However, this has lasted me for just under 5 months now and it's not even nearly finished! You can pick this essential product up at your local Boots store for just £15.99. If you feel like splashing out on yourself, definitely try this beauty out, as I promise: IT WILL NOT DISAPPOINT!
I find Boots No 7 brand of make-up quite hit and miss. Some products, like their nail varnishes, are brilliant and offer really great value for money, but I am less keen on some of their make-up like their mascaras. However when I noticed that they had brought out a mineral make-up range for No 7 I decided to give it a whirl.
First of all I decided to try the blusher, and I went for the soft damson colour which is a pretty pinky shade. At £8.75 I thought this was quite reasonably priced for a blusher, but as I had a £5 off No. 7 voucher I only actually paid £3.75 for it, which is an absolute steal.
This blusher is a loose powder in a smallish pot. You simply shake a little of the powder through the holes in the top and apply it with the blusher brush that comes with it.
This blusher gives a lovely soft, matte finish and really does last all day. I found the colour to be pretty, and you really only do need a tiny amount so I imagine that a pot would last for ages.
The one downside of this is that I found it quite messy to apply, in that there inevitably seems to end up being an excess on the brush which needs to be tapped off, so I suggest applying it over the sink.
I'll definitely be buying this again though, especially if I can get it when there are £5 off vouchers around.
The No7 range has been enhanced by the introduction of a great mineral based range of products including No7 Mineral Loose Powder Foundation and No7 Mineral Loose Powder Blusher, which are made from pure crushed minerals. With the mineral range, just the smallest amount of product is needed, so that you can get a really light and natural look.
No7 Mineral Loose Powder Blusher can update your look in a flash. It really does feel silky and light when applied to the skin. With a simple flick of the kabuki brush that comes with the blush, its very easy to blend the product for a nice natural glow to the face.
The Blush contains minerals such as sapphire, amethyst and ruby, which make up part of the semi precious gem complex, which gives you that fabulous shimmer and sheen.
These are able to diffuse light and give a lovely natural but translucent and non cloggy appearance. There is nothing worse then really heavy and fake looking blusher, but this one gives good results
You need to make sure you have applied your foundation in a light natural way before using the blusher and Boots do say that best results will be had by applying the blush on top of their No7 Mineral Loose Powder Foundation.
Thats up to you really, and a matter of personal choice. Either way the blush does give a good finish and is a worthy addition to your make up bag at around £8.75 and in a warm shade of soft damson or a pretty pink.
This comes in a small round plastic tub. The top is a black screw on lid that you take off. Inside is a seive like contraption that lets you shake through some blusher powder. The pack comes with a small blusher brush which you use with this pot. There are around 5 colours in the range so you should be able to find a colour that suits you. This costs £8.75.
I think this is a really great product. My first experience with mineral powders was L'oreal foundation, I prefer the feel of mineral powder on my skin. It lets it breathe and it doesn't feel clogged. I used a £5 No 7 voucher against this prodcut so it made it even more of a bargain! The colour I purchased is Soft Damson.
This goes on extremely easily. It blends well with other make up, especially when I use my mineral powder foundation. It also lasts for a good while so you dont have to re apply. You only need a small amount of this, be sure to blow some of the powder off the brush or you'll end up looking like coco the clown!
This product will last a long time as there is a lot of powder in that little pot!
No7 is a makeup and skincare brand exclusively to Boots. They offer a huge selection of products at mid range prices.
Here we have the No7 Mineral Perfection Blusher. This is a loose blush which contains minerals and a semi precious gem complex which includes ruby, sapphire and amethyst. The gem complex is designed to diffuse light and offer a translucent and a natural shimmer glow.
The Blusher comes in a black cardboard box (which I have thrown out so may not be entirely specific) with fancy gold writing. The information on the box includes the product name, how to use, ingredients etc.
Inside the box, there is a little round tub which is clear with a black twist on lid. The label on the underside of the pot gives you a bit of information about the blusher and we also learn that it contains no talc or preservatives and is hypo-allergenic. The pot itself is a sifter style pot with lots of tiny holes for dispensing.
Inside the box, you will also find a small dumpy application brush. It is small in handle length though the brush part is quite big and can cover your cheek in one stroke.
This will be to your preference but I like to shake a bit of the blush onto the lid, and sweep it up from there using the applicator brush. I then proceed to sweep it across my cheeks whilst performing a *smiling* face :)
*Availabiility and Price*
The No7 Mineral Perfection Blusher is available in 2 shades Rose Pink and Soft Damson. It comes in a 4g pot and is priced at £8.75 but look out for the special offers on the No7 range and you might get a bargain.
I have started wearing makeup a bit more often now as I feel it covers some blemishes and generally ugliness in my face area! My makeup box is full of various brands but one I have always stuck with is No7. Why I hear you ask?
-Huge range and my local Boots stocks them
-Excellent gift with purchase offers
-Regular £5 off vouchers and I get lots as I spend a fortune in Boots
-Great offers such as 3 for 2
-I rarely am unhappy with my choice of product
-Try before you buy and friendly assistance/advice
So onto the makeup itself. I selected this alongside the Mineral Foundation Powder and I chose Rose Pink which apparently has been renamed to just Pink according to the website?
I was very impressed with the added extra of the brush as I bought this for my holiday and had forgot to buy a new brush so this was a Godsend! As with other No7 products, the blusher has a sophisticated yet basic appearance which I like.
At first, the blusher had a little plastic seal which I made the mistake of throwing away as now the holes are exposed and being tossed around in my makeup bag means the powder sits in the lid which can be a tad messy!
The Rose Pink shade is quite an intense pink it is quite evident that they have applied the gem qualities as it has a beautiful shimmer to it. Now it does say to apply over the Mineral Foundation for a fresh natural glow though for some reason I have always applied my blush underneath my face powder and have never experienced any problems with doing so.
After cleansing my face with Asda's 48p face wipes..I opened the sifter pot and sprinkled a tiny amount onto the lid. Be aware this can come out quite quick so you only need a gentle tip into the lid and that is plenty unless you want to look like a clown. I swirled my brush around the blusher particles and blew some off. I made that awkward smile face where I raised my cheeks and used the brush to sweep from the inside to the outside. The brush is large enough to cover this area effortlessly.
Well you have a lovely natural glow on your cheeks. My face did not look caked and I didn't look fake or silly. I applied my light Mineral Foundation on top of the blush and despite having dry skin, my skin looked smooth and flawless. I proceeded to apply the rest of my makeup.
I checked out my face in both light and fairly dim conditions during the day and you can clearly noticed the gem complex as you see a light shimmer which works perfectly with the light but does not go overboard.
I had this on basically all day yesterday for my sons party and it withstanded sweat from running about after everyone and the warm heat. It was still perfect when I went home and came off nicely with another face wipe.
At £8.75 this is a fantastic price and I would highly recommend it. My face feels so much healthier and smoother than using regular brush and even hubby commented on how I looked better than normal! Thanks hunni :)
Thanks for reading
ps No7 £5 off voucher offer is on just now so if you have one, pick up this blusher for £3.75!!! What do you have to lose really?
I'm never too keen on mineral make up and loose powders they just seem so messy to me and a lot of hassle about how much you need on your brush, so I have no idea why I brought this blusher... but I did and I love it! I've just brought another one!
For a starters it it so easy to use! its a little pot but you get a lot of powder! and the tub has a plastic lid with tiny holes in the top which means only a little amount of powder comes through the holes! great if your like me and do not want to use too much. There is a cute little brush which is just the right thickness to give you an even application and a smooth appearence. The little pot is a plastic tub which is clear so you can see exactly the colour you are getting, so you can say goodbye to guessing.
However, because it is a new product there is not a great variety of colours so you are limited but the colours avaliable are lovely colours! So
I am sure you will find you perfect match I know I did!
It is great value for money!
Boots No7 Mineral Perfection Blusher is the latest addition to my ever expanding make-up bag. It costs £8.75 and is only available in Boots.
Mineral based make-up is quite a new introduction to the market and this was my first try of this type of product. Mineral based make-up is made from natural products and is therefore hypoallergenic, it contains minerals and semi-precious stones which seems pretty good for the price. The blusher contains rubies, sapphires and amethysts!!
The aim of this type of product is to diffuse light and give a flawless, translucent and natural looking result.
The product itself comes in a small cube shaped box, and I was very impressed when I got home and opened the box to find that it came complete with brush! Considering it's the same price as regular No7 blushers which don't come with a brush it seems like even more of a bargain than I had thought.
The blusher pot itself is small and round, the lid is black with No7 written on in gold and the pot is translucent so you can see the loose powder inside the pot. The blusher comes in two shades of pink: pink, which is a light shade of (surprsingly) pink, and soft damson which is a slightly darker shade. The sales assistant I spoke to seemed to think that no7 may be looking to expand the colour range if the current range is popular enough.
When you open the pot there is a small sieve like piece of plastic which keeps the powder in the pot, I found that the best way to get the powder out was just to tip it quickly upside down before you open the pot and then you have more that enough powder to use.
I soon found that you need only a tiny bit of blusher to create a good colour! The application is really amazing, it applies flawlessly, there are no lines showing where you have not quite rubbed your foundation in right, it looks perfect and natural! I was really impressed with how good the finish was!
The blusher lasts all day and looks pretty much as good at bedtime as it did when I left the house in the morning, again impressive!
The blusher brush applies the blusher well, but to my mind this is the weakest part of the package because I have noticed a few hairs have already come out and I've only had it a couple of weeks, apart from that this is a perfect product that I can't recommend highly enough.
I am a brand hussy, there you go my confession! Despite a long standing obsession with Clinque's three step routine when it comes to make up I change my mind and product every time I fancy it. This can be an expensive habit and it has also made me rather critical as you really do see how bad some products can be however my recent discovery from No.7 may well be a keeper.
I use blusher every day just to add a touch of colour to my otherwise washed out and exhausted face (the daily slog of over an hour commute along the M8 takes its toll by Wednesday) I have tried numerous colours and blusher products but never No.7. There is no particular reason for this its just that every time I have been in all the sales assistants have been busy with other customers and the displays packed with people seeking out No.7's miracle cream 'repair and protect.'
On this particular day a sales assistant was free so I asked her advice on blusher products. After failing to convince me I should go for an orange tone (really! Im sure it would work on her and her skin tone but on mine Id look like a clown!) she produced the 4 gram pot of No.7 Mineral Protection which advertises its self as "a gentle blusher, with a precious gemstone complex and soft focus pigments.' Now I think we will all agree that the wording they come up with to describe plain old blusher is amazing and for me seeing is in the believing. The lady very kindly let me try out the product and the colour Soft Damson was perfect. The coverage seemed good so I parted with my £8.75, got my advantage points and toddled off home.
**So how is it on a day to day basis?**
This blusher is simply brilliant! Unbeknown to me the blusher also comes with a small stubby make up brush which makes the £8.75 seem even better value. The brush was a bonus freebie and for the first few days was accompanying me to work. The blusher pot itself is really small, the loose powder is contained in the bottom section and the upper section has a few holes that allow the powder to come through. My one criticism is that a large amount of powder seems to just sit in the top section and you have to be careful how much goes on the brush.
Coverage is fantastic and what has amazed me by this product is the sheer staying power. I manage a good four hours without any reapplication and that is with normal wear, face touching, heat, even rain. For me the colour is perfect, a little intense so I have found that im using significantly less than I used to which hopefully will make the 4 gram tub last a little longer. I also have sensitive skin and have found no problem with this product at all. I have to say I haven't seen any gemstone glitter on my cheeks but that was not what I was looking for anyway.
Boots No 7 Mineral power and blusher is the best of all the brands out in the market,. You do not need SPF in Mineral power, if you ware moisturizers with SPF under the Mineral makeup. It best not to use Mineral power that comes with SPF, however you should always ware a moisturizers with SPF under any make-up. All you have to do is check what is SPF...this is best when you are sitting in the sun, but for work or going out at night you do not need SPF, to much SPF on your face is not good for your skin it will clore your pores. Boots No 7 has a great line of moisturizers that work with mineral power, Im only a consumer how has check all products and the best way to use a products on your face. So check before you buy any
I bought this last month with one of a long line off £5 off No7 vouchers which I always seem to acquire!
For No7 make-up the full price of £8.75 isn't too steep either, one of the cheaper products.
Mineral make-up is everywhere these days but for some reason I hadn't jumped on the band wagon and tried any.
I decided with my new black hair, my already pale skin may look a bit washed out so decided to invest in a blusher. The choice at No7 was between this and a stick, this being the cheapest and also the most innovative it was an easy choice to make!
It is available in 2 colours; Rose pink: a very pale pink or Soft damson; a more plummy colour. I opted for the Rose pink as I think that shade works best with paler skin with the Damson on darker skintones.
Mineral make-up is becoming so popular as it is 100% natural, contains no preservatives or talc and therefore is hypoallergenic and good for your skin.
This blusher is really made from crushed minerals; this one includes Ruby in the mix! Sounds a bit posh to me and a bargain at the price I paid!
The blusher comes in a small pot with a screw lid (as on the pic) the lid has the No7 branding in gold.
Underneath the pot is info about how to use it and what it is "A gentle blusher with a precious gemstone complex and soft focus pigments that diffuse light to give a flawless finish and perfect colour" Sounds too good to be true if you ask me!
This mineral blusher also comes with a little No7 brush (again as shown in the pic) This is a really good quality brush, soft bristles and it stands up on its base which is also No7 branded. No7 brushes to buy seperately all cost around £9 so to have this thrown in is fantastic!
So does it work?
When you unscrew the lid of the pot you are faced with a sieve like top through which some of the blush powder comes out. If there isn't enough there you just give it a little shake as the powder is so fine it comes through the tiny holes easily.
The colour looks good; a rich pale pink, no silly shimmery bits which is a plus for a start!
You then simply dust the (free) brush over the powder which has gathered inside the top of the pot and build the colour up slowly on your face.
It is pale at first and barely noticeable even on my pale skin so theres no way you'll overdo it! It builds up really well and a couple of applications gave me a healthy flushed look on the apples of my cheeks.
As it is such a light powder it blends into my skin perfectly too.
Once on you can't even feel it, its such a light finish. It feels 100% natural not like you're caked in make-up which is a feeling I personally can't stand.
You don't use a lot at a time so I can see this 4g pot lasting a long time. 4g sounds small but its about 2.5inch across and 1 inch deep, it only weighs so little as the product is light as air!
Available from Boots or Boots.com exclusively.
