==Boots No.7 Moisture Drench Lipstick==
As I have said in previous lipstick reviews, I am not a massive lipstick wearer but this seems not to stop me from continually buying a multitude of different lipsticks in order to try and find one that I might like enough to continue to wear.
This Boots No.7 Moisture Drench Lipstick is one that I have surprisingly used almost all of although that said I think it is probably well past its use by date as I have certainly had it a good deal over a year.
The lipstick is available from all Boots stores on the high street and of course online too. It has a recommended retail price of £9 but I can't see that I would of paid that and I probably would have used the £5 off No.7 voucher that Boots always seem to be dishing out which would have bought it down to a much more respectable £4 price and with my 10% discount card I use (which gets applied before the £5 off voucher) I probably would have paid around £3.20p which is a total steal in my opinion.
I have the shade called "Plum Beautiful" which is number 30 in the range and there would appear to be 33 different shades all in total. These range from light pink tones all the way to darker plum colours. This shade I have is quite dark although not as dark as you would think for a lipstick with a Plum name.
The packaging is really quite nice and the lipstick case itself is rather heavy and feels quite weighty and expensive. The case is a black colour with the No.7 name etched in gold onto the lid. The top half of the tube comes away as the lid to reveal a gold inside section where the lipstick product is held. The bottom part can then be twisted like any other lipstick in order for the product to pop out of the case and to be ready to use.
There was a slight angle to the lipstick when I first purchased this but I have now worn it out to a more rounded tip. There is no real fragrance to talk of to the product other than a very faint and mild standard lipstick aroma which you seem to get with most lipsticks.
The Boots website states "Nourish your lips with this moisturising formulation to keep your lips smooth and soft". Seeing as I have rather dry lips I do tend to look for a more nourishing lip product so that my lips don't dry out further especially in these colder winter months. This lipstick also boasts a SPF of 15 and claims to be fragrance free and hypo-allergenic.
Using this lipstick doesn't differ from any other I have ever used although that said the smooth and creamy texture of the product does seem to glide smoothly and easily across my lips without any dragging or pulling. The lipstick feels very nourishing when applied to the lips and makes them not only colourful but also soft and kissable.
The colour on the lips does appear to be very like the swatch on the Boots website and also the coloured sticker on the bottom of the packaging. The colour will last a good few hours on the lips if I don't eat or drink which is not bad staying power in my view. I don't think this is the best colour for me really as it is a little darker than I would usually opt for and seems to make my lips look a little thinner I feel however as far as the product goes this isn't a fault on the part of the lipstick more to do with my choice of shade.
Overall I think this is quite a good lipstick to use. For the cheap price that it can be bought for I would highly recommend it but I can't say that I would have been overly happy had I forked out the more expensive £9 price tag that it has on it. Currently there is a buy one get one half price offer on at Boots which does bring the cost down somewhat but perhaps still not enough for me to rush out and purchase another shade in the brand and range. I think if bought cheaply then its a real good lipstick which feels nice on the lips and gives protection from both the sun and the general weather elements whilst leaving the lips with a nice colour that has a reasonable amount of staying power as long as eating drinking or smooching is not done too much!
I think a really fair score for this product would be 4 out of 5 stars and really the minus mark is just for the fact that the RRP is on the high side. Otherwise I think I would recommend it!
I do hope that this has been of some help/interest to you
Many thanks for taking the time to read.
Summary: not a bad everyday lipstick
