Boots No7 Nail Varnish
Advantages: High quality products
Disadvantages: Rather expensive considering they are just nail polishes with limited choices
Previously I have purchased approximately 6 different nail polishes and top coats from no7 whenever I could afford them. I found that the quality was great and the life of the product lasted a significantly long time even after a great deal of use. I still have some polishes by no7 that were purchased back in 2005 and still are fresh and apply smoothly and don't clog up, of course this all depends on how you store and look after your varnishes - cool dry places are necessary for a longer shelf life.
I can't fault no 7's nail polish range when it comes to quality however there are some issues I have with their lack of variety when it comes to the shades available. There seem to be a number of natural shades along with reds, browns, pinks and neutral colours and in comparison to a lot of other leading brands such as rimmel and maxfactor there doesn't seem to be a great deal of brighter and more in your face colours for the more adventurous types. So in essence, no7's nail polish range is more toned down and ideally aimed towards those who prefer more subtle shades for an elegant and striking look.
However the colours that are currently on sale are available in different types of varnishes such as shimmering shades, ultra shiny varnish and quick dry. I personally think that these are of great quality and can't be faulted as a product itself as they pretty much have the same consistency and quality as most major brand labels, however due to the limited colour choice I feel that the money does not seem justifiable.
The varnishes vary from around £5 to £7 on average, which in my personal opinion is a bit extortionate and unnecessary for a nail polish as there are cheaper alternatives from other companies that have just as much reliability, if not more; and have more colours and types of varnishes to offer you.
I haven't felt the need to recommend these polishes to anyone as they haven't wowed me to the point where I want to show it off or explain why the price is worth it as I just don't feel that it is. I take preference on cheaper products that offer me much, much more than these do.
Overall no 7's nail polishes are of great quality and do have some nice shades available but I believe that your money would be much better off spent on something else that can offer you a better choice of colours for a fairer price.
Summary: A good brand of varnishes but not ideal for saving money as the price is a bit high
