Advantages: Cheap and Cheerful, Covers blemishes as well as dark circles!
Disadvantages: Steer clear if you have dry skin.
Boots have a beneficial little offer going on at the moment - if you spend over £5 when buying your goodies from ANY brand you receive a No7 £5 voucher in return! I always find that the No7 products are high quality but also quite highly priced to an extent, so getting a fiver off is a welcomed bonus!
I usually buy the No7 mascaras with the voucher or give it to my Mum to get some of the Protect and Perfect face creams but on my last trip I noticed the concealer range and decided to give them a go and see how it coped on concealing any flaws. I decided to try the No7 Quick Cover Blemish Stick but I should point out that although it is labelled as a 'blemish stick' to conceal spots and acne I find it works brilliantly under eyes as the full coverage conceals dark circle perfectly.
The packaging is very stylish and sleek and looks exactly like a lipstick in a dusty silver colour plastic container with the brand logo No7 adorned on the lid. Once you take the lid off the comparison to a lipstick continues with the twist up mechanism that allows the product to reveal itself. I love this packaging as I find it is concise and compact to keep in your handbag, glove box or even pocket for mid-day retouch.
No7 Quick Cover Blemish Stick is available in 4 shades ranging from the lightest called 'Extra Fair' then 'Fair' followed by 'Medium' and finally the darkest shade entitled 'dark.' I chose to use the lightest shade and find that it works especially well for my skin tone, however during the summer I will probably switch to fair or even medium. The consistency is very creamy at first but once you apply to the skin it transforms to a powder effect as it contains a cream to powder formulation. This aspect will not suit everyone - if you have dry skin then I would steer clear of this and perhaps try a liquid concealer instead. I love the full coverage that is on offer from this blemish stick, it enables it to stay put all day without fading or sliding thanks to the powder aspect! Once you apply this to a blemish it immediately removes any oil and shininess from the spot to leave a very matte satin finish.
As I mentioned before this works as an excellent under eye concealer because of the coverage so if you suffer from discolouration or bags around the eyes then I would give this a go next time you are in Boots. One thing I would like to stress is not to use this product straight from the stick as if you are using this on spots repeatedly, the germs will collect onto the stick and that's a sure way to make them spread - and if you place the germs near your eyes they can cause infections such as conjunctivitis. But to overcome this I use a concealer brush or a small eyeshadow brush and just make sure that you wash it after each use to prevent the spread of acne!
Retailing for £8, but with the voucher you could get this at the bargain price of just £3! No7 is currently only available at Boots or Boots.com - check it out!
Summary: Banishes blemishes and conceals discolouration!
