      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      Poor pigmentation

I have these eyeshadows in 3 different shades, I can not remember their names so I will just describe them! I have them in a pink rose, grey and a kind of turquoise colour. They are nice colours and I do like the great range that no7 have to offer. I originally purchased these after receiving the trusty £5 off voucher that Boots regularly hand out. And could not leave the store without purchasing something. So these eyeshadows originally cost £7, despite what the price at the top says, so getting them for £2 with the voucher is a bargain! I really like the way the eyeshadows are packaged, in their individual containers, it makes them look really expensive and sleek. The eyeshadow comes with an applicator, which I choose not to use because I prefer one that I can actually hold properly! The eyeshadows look like they have a really nice and rich colour but when applied they are a bit of a let down. The colour does not seem to stay on and it looks as if there is barely anything on your eyes no matter how much you put on. It is not highly pigmented so the colour does not look the same on your eyelid as when it is in the container. However there is plenty of eyeshadow in the container which is a plus!
Personally, the only good thing about this product is getting the discount on it, I would definitely not purchase it all full price.

      5 dooyoo stars for me!

A while back No7 had a promotion that if you bought 2 No7 Make Up products you would get a gift set free - inside the gift set was a mascara, lipgloss and eyeshadow. The eyeshadow was of a small size and normally Im not a lover of wearing eyeshadow and rarely do wear it. When I did try it I was so pleased it was a gorgeous colour - I did apply a few coats to try and thicken it up a bit. I looked on the bottom and couldnt find a name for the eyeshadow so when I passed my local No7 counter I asked about it because I loved it so much and wanted to buy the bigger one for when I ran out but she said it was just a one off as it was in a gift set and they dont sell them seperatly - totally gutted. Came home and searched ebay and managed to find one for a couple of pounds! I did also look at the other colours that they sell and theyre all gorg - now I wear this eyeshadow everytime I go on a night out as it goes with everything I wear! The eyeshadow is soft and I dont find im standing piling it on the brush for ages just the right amount goes on.

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

Very good if you get it at the right price

I bought one of these No7 eyeshadows from Ebay for less than £3 in Emerald. I am a great fan of green eyeshadow and had a lovely one that was a Body Shop Emerald from the local market.
This Emerald is much darker than the Body Shop one.
Its also matt, which is good for 'the older eyes' as the more sparkly ones tend to show wrinkles and creases on the lids more.
I wear eye shadow every day.
This No7 is easy to apply although the little applicator that comes with it is a bit useless after using it a few times.
It does apply quite thickly so you have to wipe some off with a clean applicator to get a lighter look.
It works nicely as an eyeliner as well.
It lasts all day without fading.
It doesnt 'set' on the lids though and if you touch your eyes you will get colour on your fingers.
Its easy to remove and comes off with just soap and water.
Whether its worth the full price at Boots I dont know, but at the right price its a very good eye shadow.

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

Nice product but not amazingly good

      DESCRIPTION

This is a single eyeshadow from the No7 range. It is available in a variety of colours but the one I will be reviewing is the "thunder" shade which is relatively new to the range. No7 say that this eyeshadow delivers high impact colour that will last for hours. I was given this eyeshadow as part of a Christmas gift from a close friend of my Mom.

      PACKAGING

The eyeshadow comes in an oval shaped plastic case, black in colour. On the front of the packaging there is a large clear plastic window so that you can see what the eyeshadow looks like. At the bottom on the front it says "No7" in gold and on the top left there is a blue sticker saying "new". On the back there is the name of the Stay Perfect brand and the name of the eyeshadow shade, it also says that the product is hypo-allergenic. There are also manufacturer details and if you peel back the sticker you will find the ingredients. When you open the package the eyeshadow is compacted into a small silver tray at the top and there is also a small applicator pad encased in the bottom.

      PRICE

This eyeshadow is currently in Boots for £7.

      PERFORMANCE

I don't wear eyeshadow very often to be honest as I find it too time consuming and my eyes are pretty big meaning mascara is usually enough to set them off. I do occasionally make an effort with my eyeshadow though for a big night out and when I do I tend to go for browns/greys/blacks/navys etc so I was happy when I received this "thunder" shade as a gift.

I would describe the colour myself as a mixture of navy and grey colour which doesn't sound very nice when you read it but it's actually a nice colour! The eyeshadow also has quite a shimmer to it and so this provides a nice finish.

I don't personally use the small applicator included in the eyeshadow packaging but it does come in handy when travelling. I tend to use an eyeshadow brush instead. The shadow itself goes onto the lid pretty well and I don't get much fallout when applying it. The pigmentation is very strong (to start with) and I don't feel as though I need a lot of product to achieve the look I am after. The shadow is also versatile and can be used well when blending with other brands of eyeshadow to create a smoky eyed look but I wouldn't ever usually pay £7 for a single eyeshadow.

      STAYING POWER

The only downside to this shadow is that it didn't seem to hold it's pigmentation all night, it remained on my eyelids all night but I felt that the navy/grey colour faded and I was a bit disappointed with this.

      OVERALL

Overall this is a nice product but I'm put off by the price tag and the fact that it fades. The shade however is very nice and would appeal to most people when wanting to create a smoky eye.

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

An eyeshadow with a subtle shimmer that friends have commented on

I bought this No 7 eyeshadow months ago from Boots in colour number 42, which is named 'Antique Rose'. It comes in a black oval-shaped case that is easy to open and shut, with a clear section so that you can see the colour of the eyeshadow without having to open it up. I think it was £7 when I bought it, but I probably would of used a £5 voucher, which makes it a bargain price of £2. It wasn't really the colour I was after when I bought the product, as it is a rather dark pink and I prefer a lighter pink for my eyeshadow, but I seem to remember there wasn't a lighter one and so I thought I would give it a go.

The one, and probably the only, negative thing I have to mention about this eyeshadow was the applicator that it came with. It was a curved applicator so that it fitted in the case but I found it was a funny shape to try to keep a proper grip on and it was fiddly to use. After many uses, the sponge kept coming off the applicator and wouldn't stay on, and so I ended up having to purchase a set of applicators to use with the eyeshadow. These applicators were of course the usual shape and size, meaning that they were straight rather than curved, and so they don't fit into the space in the case where the previous applicator sat, which is a bit annoying really.

In terms of the actual eyeshadow, as I mentioned earlier I wasn't too sure about the colour. It takes a few applications of the product in order for it to be noticeable enough for my liking. I was still a bit unsure of the colour the first few times I was wearing it, however, I did notice that it's got a subtle shimmer to it, which I really like. A few friends have also commented that they really like the eyeshadow when I've been wearing it, and they love that it has a slight shimmer, and receiving compliments from friends makes me want to wear it everyday!

Apart from having to apply the eyeshadow a few times, I have found that it is easy to apply, as bits of it don't flake off and go all over my eyelashes and then my clothes, as happens with some eyeshadows I own. It lasts for most of the day but needs to be reapplied during late afternoon, but this might be because I have oily skin and so other people may find that it lasts for longer.

Overall, a good eyeshadow with a lovely subtle shimmer.

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

A very good all round eyeshadow

I am having a bit of a clear out of my makeup bag at the moment and when I did I came across this eye shadow in a dark brown colour and thought I would give it a go. It's one that I bought with the famous No 7 Vouchers and I have to say I am glad I have found it again.

      ***The packaging***

It is a standard size single shadow pot in black with the No 7 branding. Mine came with an applicator sponge (long gone) but I noticed when I was in Boots today that these no longer come with the applicator so if you are going to buy one you will need to use a brush or sponge (or your fingers as I often do). The pot is a nice size as it doesn't take up much room and the pot closes tightly so you don't get spills in your makeup bag.

      ***The product***

Inside, you get a shimmery (but not like wearing full on glitter) dark brown shade in a soft powder finish. However, the shimmer isn't in anyway overpowering as it just leaves the eyes with a pretty finish rather than looking like you are about to go clubbing. The product is really easy to apply and although it is shimmery you don't get the same gritty feel you do with some more glittery eye shadows - I find that it smoothes over the eye really easily whether using my fingers or an applicator (the one in the pot when I had it was very fiddly to use so I bought my own). It also blends nicely and would mix well with other shadows in the range which is good. In terms of pigmentation it is not a dramatic as some eye shadows you can get but it gives a nice colour for day and can be built up and layered easily for a more dramatic look.

When it comes to staying power it will last most of the day for me although by the end of a day at work I may need to reapply it lasts well overall.

      ***Price***

These eye shadows are only available from Boots (although you may get some on eBay) and are priced at £7 for a single and £8 for a duo. Would I purchase it again? Probably but as it is a good little eye shadow but I am not sure I would pay full price for it as there are cheaper versions out there (which is why I have removed a star) but overall it is a good shadow.

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      Great eyeshadow from No 7

This little gem is one that I picked up whilst Boots were giving away their infamous £5 off No7 vouchers. There was an impressive 10 colours to choose from and in the end I went for 'True gold'.

      **Description**

"No7 stay perfect eye shadow boasts high impact colours that blend effortlessly and last for hours."

      **Packaging**

I really like the packaging design for the No7 range. The black and gold makes it look very sleek and more expensive than it actually is. This compact clicks closed tightly to avoid any mess and has a window which allows you to see the colour of the eye shadow perfectly.

      **My experience**

The first point to mention is that this eye shadow does come with an applicator. I have tried using it on a number of occasions but didn't get on with it. It is very small and fiddly which makes it hard to apply the product. I prefer to use other brushes that I have got when using this product.

As I previously mentioned I purchased this in the colour 'True gold'. When you open the compact the colour looks spectacular. The gold has a gorgeous shimmer in the light and looks really metallic.

Before applying eye shadow I always use a primer or foundation on my eyelids in order to make the products lasts longer.

I only need to press my applicator onto the product gently in order to get enough on the brush. What I like about this eye shadow is that there is no powdery excess left in the compact.

The product sweeps effortlessly across my eyelids and feels and looks very smooth. The colour is beautifully pigmented and really does make my eyes pop.

The eye shadow works well when using on its own but I have also used it to blend with other eye shadows that I have and it works well this way too.

After using a primer with this product it will last all day without looking dull towards the end of the day.

      **Price**

You can find this in Boots stores or online priced at £8

      **Conclusion**

I really like this eye shadow. I think it is a great quality product and one which can be used both in the days and for evening wear. I do not think I would purchase it at full price but that's not to say it isn't worth it I just like to get myself a bit of a bargain. I am going to rate this eye shadow 4 stars, it would be the full 5 but I have to deduct 1 for the applicator.

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

Poor pigmentation & expensive for the quality

      ==Overview==

Boots No.7 Stay Perfect Eye Shadow is only available from Boots, Boots.com and you can probably get hold of it on eBay too. Each individual eyeshadow costs £7 and the range has about 20 colours in it.
You can also buy these eyeshadows in duos, triples or quads which come in an array of complimentary colours such as brown hues or smokey greys. Each eyeshadow comes in its own little mini compact and has a sponge applicator (which I never use, I always use it with a brush).

      ==My Opinion==

Firstly, I'll start by saying that no brand has ever come close to MAC eyeshadows for me (largely due to the excellent range of colours and high pigmentation in the eyeshadows) and No.7 from Boots is no exception. The range of colours available is fairly limited but you could find a brown, a lilac, a blue, a green etc. to suit you within the range that they have on offer. The biggest let down for me is the duration of the colour on the eye. If I don't use a base/primer on my eye then the colour would not stay on my eye for more than an hour. I use AVON perfect wear for a base (see other review) and this does help the colour to stay on a bit better as the eyeshadow has something to stick to. I find the best way of describing the eyeshadows are as 'tame' - the colours are tame, the pigmentation is tame and even if you tried to layer the eyeshadows and build layers of colour up on the eyelid, it just doesn't really work. I must say that the colour blend together quite nicely (not as well as MAC!) and you aren't left with stripes on your eyes if you try to blend a light and darker colour together. I personally feel that this eyeshadow is fine for a cheap fix and if you just want a hint of a colour on during the day (not that I'm suggesting the colour would last all day!) - but for me this is definitely not dramatic enough or long-lasting enough for a night out.

      ==Overall==

I personally wouldn't buy this eyeshadow again, especially not at full price - if you get it as part of the No.7 bonus bags then it is probably a nice little freebie or if you use a £5 voucher that Boots often do to get this for just £2 then that isn't bad either. Personally I'd rather spend an extra £5 and buy a high quality, long lasting MAC eyeshadow for £12 and know it is going to do a really good job.

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

Seems good quality and nice and fine, but doesn'r deliver on adding anything to my make-up look.

I bought this eyeshadow in oyster when trying to use one of my many no 7 £5 vouchers. I deliberated over the colours for ages, as none of them seemed quite right, but I thought the oyster would be good for a natural look as it is a beige colour.

The pot is nice and classy looking, and the formula of the eyeshadow itself feels lovely and fine when you apply it. I ahve tried it with both my finger and with the applicator, and I prefer to use my finger as I find the curved applicator brush that comes with it makes it tricky to apply accurately. The eyeshadow feels good quality, but I was disappointed with the colour, as I felt it was very wishy-washy compared to other beige / taupe eyeshadows for a similar price - it doesn't add a strong pigmented colour, it doesn't highlught or add radiance, basically it doesn't do anything for me at all!

I would like to try this in a different colour because the powder feels good quality, but most of them are not colours I would normally buy - I like eyeshadows that deliver drama, or brightness/freshness, or at least richness - I expect them to deliver on bringing together my makeup look and enhancing my eyes. This oyster one did none of these things, I'm afraid.

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      Good stuff!

I first started using No.7 eyeshadows in my teens when I received a gift set one Christmas. I took a shine to one of the dark pink shades in the set and searched the No.7 counter in Boots for a replacement when I got down to the pan of the eyeshadow in the gift set.

I found a similar colour in store and have never been without since. The shade I use is number 42 Antique Rose. I have also bought this eyeshadow in other colours including a white colour, which is number 70 Innocence.

      ~ Price and availability ~
As it is from the No.7 range this eyeshadow is only available from Boots and www.boots.com. It costs £8.00 and is available in a wide range of different colours.

      ~ Packaging ~
Browsing the No.7 counter in Boots recently I have noticed that their eyeshadows and blushers have changed their packaging. I still have my No.7 eyeshadow in the older packaging as shown in the picture. It is a small black oval shaped compact with a semi-circle shaped window allowing you to see the colour of the eyeshadow and 'No7' on the black plastic in gold lettering.
The eyeshadow is hinged and easy to open. It comes with a small applicator with a curved handle. The number and name of the eyeshadow shade can be found on a sticker on the bottom of the eyeshadow.
I like the appearance of the packaging. The eyeshadow compacts are small and neat, but I have found with one of my eyeshadows that the clear plastic window has come out. This is also something I found with the similarly designed No.7 blusher. I am disappointed by the window coming out as it meant I couldn't carry the eyeshadow in my make-up bag in fear of the actual product getting damaged or breaking and spilling.
Although you can try to put the window back in it keeps falling out again so this is not the solution.
I suspect this is the reason they have redesigned the packaging, but in honesty I'm not keep on the new packaging and it would probably make me hesitate in buying the product again. This is stupid because I am sure there is nothing wrong with the new design, just I am used to the old packaging and set in my ways.

      ~ Use ~
I find that this eyeshadow is really easy to apply and it goes on nicely either with the sponge applicator provided or with an eyeshadow brush.
I find the colour transfers easily onto your eyelids and does not need to be built on.
The Antique Rose eyeshadow looks a fairly natural colour on my skin, but it has a nice shimmer to it. It is not a glittery shimmer at all and in the little compact the eyeshadow looks matte. It's as if the shimmer is part of the colour, if that makes sense.
I really like this eyeshadow as I feel that it is good quality and I have found it a lot more user-friendly than some much more expensive brands that I have used and I think it offers better results.
It is also long lasting and after application first thing in the morning it will still look just as great last thing at night.

      ~ Overall ~
Overall I think that this eyeshadow is great. I love the effect it gives and it is easy to apply and long lasting. I have found it to be much better quality than more expensive eyeshadows I have used.
It is reasonably priced at £8.00, but I often get mine using a No.7 £5.00 voucher, which are given out regularly in store.
The packaging was not great, with the window falling out of one of my eyeshadows and a blusher of the same design, but the packaging has now been updated now.

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

An eyeshadow which does what it says

When it comes to make up the one item I wear most days is eyeshadow. However, generally when I wear it I am at work so I tend to go for more neutral colours which although are noticeable are still at the same time a subtle shade. I do find it hard to find decent neutral colours which will last a considerable time before having to re-apply. All the brands seem to do a dark brown and then a really pale cream colour but I like the shades in between and they are not always so easy to find as they are either too dark for day wear or too light that they are not noticeable enough.

Recently I was in my local Boots store where I set about trying to find a few eyeshadows which were of these in between shades as my usual one I had been wearing had finally broken into a million of pieces. I came across the No7 range purely because I knew that they had a ½ price sale on and I wanted a couple of their nail varnishes but found myself browsing at their other items including the No7 Stay Perfect Eyeshadow (the solos). In the end I came away with an eyeshadow in 'mink' which seemed to be the exact shade I was wanting.

No7 are Boots in house brand and are the older, more mature and sophisticated sister to the No17 brand Boots also own. No7 if you are not familiar have a wide range of cosmetics including make up, facial products and toiletries which in my opinion are well suited in the market if not a little expensive compared to other brands but still none the less they are quite a popular choice for a lot of people wanting decent quality cosmetics.

No7 claim that not only will their Stay Perfect Eyeshadow give an intense, high impact colour but it will also last for hours. This for me was a big selling point as I want my eyeshadow not only to retain it's colour through out the day but not to disappear within a few hours of application. With about 24 different shades to choose from there is plenty of variety of choice with regard to the shades that they have available whether you want to go for the ultra sexy look with the dark blacks and purple hues or for the everyday wear of gentle pastel shades there really is something for everything.

The eyeshadow comes in a rather simplistic black plastic case which features a clear, see through window so you clearly see the chosen shade. All of No7's make up range comes in black packaging of some sort together with the No7 logo imprinted on in gold font. The packaging although very minimalist is simple is still quite effective apart from the No7 concessions in Boots stores are always quite impressive you cannot fail to notice their make up items. The black plastic case is oval in shape with a lid that lifts up and down. On the back there is the usual information such as shade, ingredients, contact info for Boots. Inside the case the eyeshadow is firmly in place together with a small applicator brush.

The shade I opted for as stated above was 'Mink' and despite No7's big re-vamp the shade still remains which for me is good. Mink is an in between shade nestled between the brown and cream hues. Although to look at it does look like a murky, matt looking colour which compared to some of the other shades is rather dull and boring when applied to the eyelid the one time murky colour lightens slightly and has a lovely metallic hue to it making it an ideal shade for day and night wear as you can have it quite light or if you layer it, you can end up with quite a sultry effect.

To apply the eyeshadow No7 have rather conveniently supplied a small foam tipped applicator brush and for the price of £8.00 per single eyeshadow than I would have expected one! However, the applicator itself is far too small in my opinion to do any good whatsoever so I either use a longer applicator or quite simply just the tip of my finger so I can blend easily. The eyeshadow is very soft in application and unlike others I have used it doesn't turn into a fine, powdery finish leaving most of it on your cheek bones and not so much on your eye lids. Basically, this doesn't give any excess waste whatsoever and is applied mess free. Even when it has been used multiple times it stays solid in its little plastic container.

The result of applying this eyeshadow is one that I love. Apart from being applied easily the shade I have is easily blended and gives off a wonderful colour. But does it last like No7 claim? I am pleased to say that it does. Now, it doesn't retain the full colour 8 hours later than it did when it was first applied but by the end of the day, the eyeshadow is still perfectly noticeable and rather than dulling down into a boring colour it lessens in intensity and becomes a softer, lighter shade which is for me lovely. I will only re-apply should I have meetings but when I don't the colour although it remains is perfectly fine and doesn't disappear altogether!

I must add that this eyeshadow is also incredibly easy to remove with a simple make up wipe or eye make up remover, with one quick wipe over the eye lid and all trace of the colour vanishes. I can suffer with sensitive skin on the top of my eye lids just underneath the eyebrow and some eyeshadows can effect it but this being hypoallergenic has been incredibly gentle on my skin and hasn't caused any irritation whatsoever. So if you are wanting an eyeshadow which is hypoallergenic and suitable for sensitive/delicate skin then this should definitely be worth a go.

I am incredibly impressed with this No7 eyeshadow and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. I am in fact buying a few more shades as I really do think it lives up to the promises of No7 - it provides a lovely, intense colour which does actually last. Yes, there are cheaper alternatives but I think this one is definitely worth the money. Even better if you get the £5 off vouchers from Boots! 5 stars from me.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

A good quality eyeshadow in a colour I love and so worth the cost for me

I don't wear a full face of make up every day, to be honest I just can't be bothered really. I don't want to spend time in the morning applying primer, foundation, concealer, powder, eyehsadow, blusher and lipstick just to pop down the shops or library! However, I do like to apply a thin layer of something natural looking just to make me look a bit more finished and polished than the "just got out of bed" look. Mascara is a must for me, every day, as I have such pale lashes and without it my eyes just disappear. I'll also wear a covering of a light foundation if my skins not looking too great and recently I've also been using a Boots No 7 Stay Perfect eyeshadow.

My mum originally gave me a smaller sized version of this eyeshadow which she had received as part of a free gift set for spending over a certain amount in store. I ended up loving the colour so much that when it ran out I treated myself to the larger version which costs way more than I would normally spend on a one colour eyeshadow but as I wear it every day I felt it justified the expense.

For those of you who have been living in a cave for the last few decades, Boots is a high street chemist store which sells cosmetics, toiletries, food and lots lots more nowadays. When it comes to makeup they sell various brands depending on whether you shop in one of their smaller stores, ranging up to the luxury brands such as Elizabeth Arden and Christian Dior if you live near a larger city branch. I live in a very small town so the range in my branch is limited but they do stock all 3 of Boots own branded cosmetics. No 7 is the higher end brand with Number 17 being the middle one and the Natural Collection being the more economic version. To be honest, I do tend towards No 17 usually as I find their products perfectly adequate and much more cost effective than No 7. However, as I loved the colour of this shadow so much and had one of the frequent No 7 £5 off vouchers I ended up paying only £3 for mine.

The Stay Perfect eyeshadow is available as either a single colour or a trio palette and I bought mine as a single colour. There are lots of colours to choose from (24 according to the Boots website) ranging from neutrals right through to black, bright purple and turquoise. As I said, I prefer neutral make up day to day and so I have the shadow in a lovely sandy gold colour. I'm slightly confused looking at it now as the package claims that this shade is called Starry Nights but according to the website the Starry Nights colour is sort of a dark pewter grey so I can only assume that my eyeshadow has been labelled incorrectly. I can't remember what my original pack of this colour was called and going by the website I can only deduce that it is either Beach Shine or Truffle. As it is a sandy gold colour I will assume for the purpose of review that it is the Beach Shine option!

The eyeshadow comes in a package very much like the No 7 powder except that this has a clear window on the top so that you can see the colour of the shadow (hence how I chose the right one without having to look at the name on the bottom!). It is a more or less flat oval shaped plastic container in a dark plastic but I can never decided if their packaging is black or a very dark navy! It has the No 7 logo on the front in gold and further details on the back such as company information and the weight of the product. It fastens with a secure clip at the bottom of the oval and I've never had any problems with either opening it in the first place or with it coming open of its own accord in my make up bag. Men may scoff at this but it's amazing how many make up containers aren't fit for purpose and end up spilling their contents out in a make up bag - hence why many of them have an easily wiped clean plastic lining!

The eyeshadow comes with its own applicator wand which, to be honest, is much like most other applicators provided with products like this - pretty much useless. I tend to use my oen make up brushes or my finger anyway, but even if I did want to use this applicator I would struggle. It has been shaped in such a way as to fit into the bottom of the oval case and so has a bent handle. Whilst, yes, this does make the package look appealing to the eye, it makes the applicator wand very difficult to grip properly and mine was long since disposed of.

The eye shadow itself really is one of the nicest I've ever used. Whilst it comes in powder form it feels quite creamy and soft and so I often end up just using my finger to apply this on a day to day basis and just use a brush to blend it in around the edges. As I have quite pale skin I find that this shade (Beach Shine, remember?!) is just the right colour to make it clear that I am wearing eyeshadow but also to blend in with my skin tone perfectly so that it still looks natural and neutral and not caked on.

It goes on really well and feels quite silky on my eyelids and I've never had any problems with any flaking off onto my cheekbones when I apply it as can happen with other brands I've used. It smoothes on really evenly and lasts really well too. To be honest, once I'm back from the shops or library or wherever I may have been and am happily esconsed in my home again I don't bother reapplying my makeup during a normal day so, whilst this eyeshadow lasts me through a day, if I was out at work or on a day out I would probably have to reapply it towards the late afternoon to keep my face looking finished properly. I also often use this shade as a base for other coloured eyeshadows on nights out and have no problem with it lasting the full evening without the need to reapply.

The eyeshadow is removed easily along with the rest of my make up using either a cream cleanser or a face wipe - depending how lazy I'm feeling that day - both just bog standard Nivea and, whilst experts would probably recommend using a separate eye make up remover, I've never bothered with this as I feel you're just paying for two products that do the same job.

The eyeshadow claims to be hypoallergenic and I have to say I've never encountered any problems when using it. I wouldn't say I have particularly sensitive eyes but I do wear contact lenses and often have makeup which can make my eyes itch quite badly if it gets on my lenses, but there's none of that with this Stay Perfect.

All in all I'm very happy with this eyeshadow. It has a real feel of quality to it, goes on nicely when applied and feels soft and silky on my eyelids. It's one downside for me is the price as, at full price, I think £8 is quite steep. Although it will last me a good 4 or 5 months before it runs out there are other eyeshadows out there that will perform almost as well for less than half the price and if I didn't love this colour so much for a daily wear eyeshadow I would struggle to pay the full price. Luckily, with it being No 7, I usually always have a voucher lurking somewhere in my purse so don't envisage having to pay £8 for it anyway.

          No7 Eyeshadow

I have a few eyeshadows now from the No7 range and have gone back to them because I liked them so much. I first tried one of the eyeshadow trios as I had a No7 voucher to use. I really liked the colour combination of brown shades and so went back to see if I could get one of the particular colours all on its own as I liked the colour so much and wanted more of it. I didn't find that particular colour but I did find a lovely shade called Khaki shine as an individual eyeshadow. Khaki shine is a lighter brown/gold shade than I normally wear but its got quite a bit of sparkle in it and I love the way it looks.

Boots say that this No7 Stay Perfect Eyeshadow delivers high impact colour. It blends effortlessly and lasts for hours.

The eyeshadow comes in a nice little plastic compact that is easy to carry around in your makeup bag. It has a flip lid and I like that this closes over the eyeshadow as it means it stays protected. The compact has a see through lid so you can see the colour in the shop and it also has No7 written on it so you know which brand you are buying. There is a little brush which comes with the compact too which is a foam applicator brush. I sometimes use this brush if I am in a hurry and can't be bothered to search for my separate eyeshadow brush but I do prefer the look I can achieve with a brush rather than this applicator. It is handy to have in the compact though, I'll give it that.

The eyeshadow goes on well and I only need a sweep or two of the powder to cover my lids which is nice. I generally never need to reapply this eyeshadow during the day as I find it lasts well and still looks good after a night out of wear.

Boots offer some advice and say that for even longer lasting results, use over No7 Stay perfect Eye Base and apply with the No7 eyeshadow brush so that is something to consider.

This one little eyeshadow compact costs £8 which is a little expensive but I find it does last a long while, I am still on my first Khaki shine, and of course if you have a No7 voucher you can get it at a discounted price.

A good buy with a five pounds off voucher

Last Christmas time I treated myself to a large box of No7 goodies when it was on offer as Boot's product of the week and as I purchased it when there was yet another offer on where by if you spent over a certain amount you received a small make up bag with various sample products in I actually ended up with quite a lot of No7 goodies! One of the items I received was a sample of the No7 stay perfect eye shadow and I have been using this on and off since I received it.

I actually received a small 1.5g of the product but I think the actual eye shadow contains 2g of the product and you also receive a small applicator in the pack should you buy the product from Boots. The retail price in Boot's for this product is £8 and whilst I appreciate it is expensive for a single eye shadow the price can often be lowered by five pounds should you be in possession of one of the five pound off vouchers that are often handed out at the tills.

My eye shadow came presented in a glossy black hinged tub with the No7 logo printed in the middle in a golden colour. It immediately gives the impression of being a premium brand product in my opinion. On the back of the tub is a label which gives information about the colour of the product inside as well as telling us the product is hypo-allergenic and made in Thailand.

The shade that I received free from Boot's is called starry lights and is a pale golden colour. It was actually quite a perfect colour for me to receive as I do like to often do my eye make up using neutral tones of brown and so this colour just fit in well with what I like to do with my eyes.

I like to apply my eye make up using a brush as opposed to a foam applicator but I find this make up sticks nicely to the brush and doesn't flick bits all over my face as I apply it! The eye shadow goes on to my eye lid smoothly and feels soft. It is a very pale colour and so I do tend to apply this over a darker coloured brown to just tone the brown down a little and I find this colour gives it a little warmth as well as it is quite shimmery and a little bit sandy coloured. The colour lasts well on my eyes and I find it is still there, all be it faded, after a long thirteen hour shift at work. I find this colour best suited to day to day wear as I do prefer something a bit more dramatic for a night out but night outs are few and far between for me so that isn't a problem! The eye shadow doesn't seem to crease much throughout the day either and I would compare it in terms of longevity to my urban decay eye shadows which I love.

I have used this product on and off for around eight months now and there is still some left in the pot so it doesn't take much per application and so it does last well which justifies the price tag a little more I think. Personally I think the colour I have works best when blending but then again I do tend to blend my eye make up almost every day be it to achieve golden tones or a deeper smoky effect so this works well for me.

I would recommend you taking a look at these eye shadows should you be in possession of a five pounds off voucher because they do last well both on the eye and in terms of the amount of product you use each time. I personally wouldn't buy it at full price simply because I could not afford to spend eight pounds on single eye shadows when I like to blend two or three colours each day I do my eyes.

Thank you for reading my review!

            Great product, recommended.

Wow! You can tell that No7 must give away a lot of these Stay Perfect eyeshadows in their free gift with purchase deals as there are a lot of reviews on here about this particular product! No7 is Boots own range of make up and skin care and I love a lot of their range so do end up with a few of these kits. This is something that has made its way into my daily make up box so it can't be all that bad! I'd like to add my 2ps worth to the reviews as this is an eyeshadow I have been using for a while now and enjoyed reading other's thoughts while using it too.

            Mine
My pot is no 05 Island Sea, a blue grey colour with a little bit of shimmer. Not a colour I'd have picked outright as I tend to stick to neutrals but I am getting a bit more adventurous these days with my eye makeup and if it's the right blue, it's not always bad with blue eye colouring!

            Price and packaging
The RRP is £8 for 2g, and it comes in nice packaging with a little applicator brush and window so you can see the colour. Mine is 1.5g so slightly smaller in a black oval shape and I fumble a bit with the opening as it's so small, I think I'd be better with the full size and less likely to drop it!

            In use
I use an eyeshadow brush to apply this colour and have tried it dry and it makes a nice background colour and used wet (I dampen a cotton bud) to make it an eyeliner above and lightly below the eye. It is very versatile and I have used it more than a dozen times now and it hardly looks as if it has been touched so will last for ages yet.

            Offers
In addition to trying this via the get with purchase, I would wait until Boots do the £5 vouchers again so you can buy full size at a reduced amount. They do the vouchers several times a year and award them to customers who are spending in store. You can get into a real voucher cycle once you start and I tend to happily stock up during these promotions with all sorts from the No7 range.

            My thoughts
It's a great idea to include this as a trial product as it has really built my confidence in how nice these eyeshadows are and I wouldn't hesitate to buy a full sized one or even a palette by No7. They apply easily, work well wet and dry and also are easily removed with a cleanser, eye make up remover or wipe.

            Final word
I will have a look at the colours available next time I am in store. The StayPerfect brand claim works well for me and the added shimmer makes the eyeshadow a bit special too. I am happy to recommend this product.
