Advantages: good quality, long lasting, good range of colours, gentle on my skin, cute and compact
Disadvantages: applicator is a bit fiddly
I have recently become quite a fan of Boots No.7 makeup range. I have so far found the products to be of good quality, long lasting and most importantly they do not aggrevate my skin which is usually rather sensitive!
Boots seem to be forever handing me £5 off vouchers for the No.7 range along with my receipts. I must admit that they have usually been binned with my receipts but I made a conscious effort to keep the last one. I took a look at the No.7 products in my local Boots determined to find an eye shadow suitable for me to wear whilst teaching. My problem being that all my current eyeshadows are glittery or shimmery which I love but I don't feel they are quite professional enough to wear to work. I rub my eyes a lot as I have allergies to pretty much everything in the world! So I needed something fairly strong and that would last a whole day at work. I looked at the No.7 range and decided to choose an eyeshadow from the "stay perfect" range. There were plenty of colours and shades to choose from but I inititally chose a medium brown colour. Upon arriving at the till I was told that not only would I get my £5 off but the No.7 stuff was currently 3 for 2 and as I had also brought my usual mascara I could choose another item. Therefore I also chose a light blue/grey colour.
The eyeshadow comes in a small compact with a curved handle applicator. It looks cute and wont take up much room in your bag. I initially tried applying the eyeshadow with the applicator but soon realised that I just do not have that kind of co-ordination! The applicator is so small and so curved that I really struggle to use it. So instead I used one of my proper eyeshadow application brushes. It swept on easily and looked nice and smooth. I didn't need to use too much so I think my purchase will last quite a while even with daily use. I like how the eyeshadow looked and decided that it was certainly suitable for wearing to work.
Here came the test! To my huge surprise, I got home after almost 10 hours at work to find my eye shadow still in place! By this time it could probably have done with a touch up if I were going out again but I was very impressed how long it had stayed put, especially as I know how much I touch and rub my eyes during the day!
The eye shadow was comfortable to wear and I really liked the way it looked. Despite it staying on all day, when it came to take it off it was really easy to do using a makeup removing wipe. On the whole I was very impressed with my new purchase! Today I had to do a break time duty at work. As I was standing out on the playground it started to rain. As I had to wait till all the kids were in, I got soaked. Yet amazingly my eyeshadow was still looking good when I finally got indoors!
So over all I am very impressed with this product. The applicator is the only let down as for general application I would recommend using a brush as the applicator is a little bit fiddly. Other than that, I love this eye shadow. I have also used my other shade and will be looking at buying another one to get a good range! There are plenty of colour choices so I wont list them all here as you are bound to find one you want. The eyeshadow cost £7 but with my £5 off it only cost £2! And if you make the most of the 3 for 2 on No.7 products offer then you could do quite well! I definitely recommend this product, it is good quality and comfortable to wear.
Summary: Long lasting, comfortable and good quality
