I don’t buy or wear a huge amount of make up so I wouldn’t class myself as an authority, but I bought one of these trios in brown/beige shades, called “Cappuccino”. The three shades are designed to go together and complement each other perfectly, which is important when you’re inexperienced and possibly lacking in confidence as I am when it comes to choosing shades to go together, and actually putting make up on.
There is even some hints on the packaging to assist, advising you to use the lightest shade as a highlighter (all areas of the eye lid) a shade for the lower lid, and the darkest shade intended to be used as effectively an eye liner along the top of your eye lashes.
The shades in the Cappuccino tray are neutral and very subtle, again ideal for someone like me who isn’t a great make up wearer. The palest shade is almost nude, but it has a hint of shimmer and for me, is just enough.
The powder transfers easily onto my applicator, and equally easily off the applicator onto my eyelids. I find they apply well and also crucially stay put over a period of a few hours or more. When applying onto the applicator, there does create a little bit of eyeshadow dust, and the separation between the shades is quite thin so there is some chance of colours getting into each others' sections.
The other important thing is that the eyeshadow comes off easily when it comes to removal.
These trios cost £9.50, so they are not cheap but for the quality for me it's not expensive and I will probably buy more.
I was bought this No7 eyeshadow trio as a gift from my daughter and I love it. I don't wear make up every day but when I do I quite enjoy putting it on and trying to blend different shades and things so for that reason I think this trio is perfect because the three colours within it compliment each other nicely.
=== Packaging ===
The packaging of this eyeshadow is simple but effective. It is a black, oval-shaped case which has a little window in the front that shows you the colours inside. This makes it look really attractive, i want to open it up and look in. It's good to be able to see the colours without opening it up to do so. It has the No7 logo on the front in gold and it's very simple. The lid opens just by gripping the lid and opening it and it's easy to close. Once closed it remains shut and doesn't open by mistake even when in a bag being carried around in my bag.
=== Using the eye shadow ===
The colours in my eye shadow are greys. I have a black, a silver-grey colour and a white. The colours are arranged in darkness. The top one is the largest and that's white, the middle one is silvery and the bottom one is black. My only problem with this is that I find that the colour I use the most of is the silver one which is the middle one so not as big as the white one. Using this eye shadow is great, I really like it. At the bottom of the case is a little applicator which fits in perfectly. It has little sponges on each side which is good, if it was just one it wouldn't be enough. It's easy to apply because the shadow comes off the case easily and onto the applicator, you don't have to press hard and then applying it to my eye lid is easy too because it comes off the applicator easily. It is really easy to blend and the colours mix together well. I really like to put silver on and then blend in the dark grey/black colour and find that this has a really good effect for special occasions. It looks really nice. I do use the white too but not as often, this tends to help blend colours.
=== Conclusion ===
I really like this eye shadow. The way it's packaged looks nice and is really practical too. It protects the make up inside because it's a hard case and it travels really well. It doesn't get damaged whilst out and it's only small so is great to put in your bag when you're out and about. I find it really easy to apply onto my eyes and really like blending it, the colours go together really well which is just what I would want as i don't have much imagination so being presented with these colours to use is good. I find the effect it has is nice, it looks good and it has sufficient staying power too. I would definitely recommend this and will be buying other trios in the future no doubt.
I don't wear eyeshadow often really, but with a lot of parties and events to go to over the last few weeks I decided to buy this a few months ago. I chose one with neutral shades which is called 'Good Earth' which has a cream colour, a medium brown and a darker brown. The browns have a lovely shimmery effect. Other trios include golds, greens, blues, pinks and black/white/silver. There are currently 10 choices.
This trio cost me £9.50 and was on 3 for 2 on No7 products when I bought it. The current offer in boots is that you receive a free gift worth £26 when you buy 2 No7 products.
The packaging is like the picture above, it is a small round black plastic square, with a clear window on the top to see the 3 colours through.
This comes with an double ended applicator. This is good and none of the ends have come loose or fallen off after use.
The container says
'Smooth, crease resistant eyeshadows for a long-lasting finish
Create your look with this trio of colours and other No7 eyeshadows.'
One of my daughters offered to do my eye make up for a recent party. I half agreed telling her she could do it at home first and for the party if I liked it. It's not that she isn't good at make up but she would be used to wearing a lot more than I would and when she said she was going to use all three shades to create a 'smokey eye' look I was a little worried and thought it would be far too young for me.
When she had finished I was really pleased with the look. I now use the three often for special occasions. I don't think I would attempt this kind of look with any of the stronger colours but with there neutral brown colours I think it creates a look that anybody could wear. Some of the other trios could even be used as three seperate eyeshadows so you could create so many looks with the trio.
These eyeshadows are easy to apply and feel light on the eyelids even when layered up for a look. It stays on well and is still easy to remove with a baby wipe.
I think these eyeshadows are a really good quality and are good value for money for me as one of these trios would last me a long time. Especially as it was bought as part of a 3 for 2 deal which is nearly always on with No7.
This is one of the best eyeshadows I have tried.
Why buy one eyeshadow when you can buy three in one handy compact? That is the question I asked myself when I came across these great little eyeshadow colours from the Boots No. 7 range. I am always getting Boots No. 7 vouchers as I spend quite a lot in Boots on baby products, nappies, milk etc but I never usually use them. I have tried the Boots No. 7 skin care range in the past but I didn't really like it too much and prefer to stick to my Oil of Olay that I have used for years. I decided to look though at what else the No. 7 range offers and was excited to find that they have quite an extensive make up range. I purchased a number of items with all my vouchers and this eye shadow compact was one of my bargain purchases.
This eyeshadow costs just £5.25 for a 2g case which is great in my opinion as I usually buy MAC eyeshadows for over £10 for just one colour. Boots No. 7 say this Stay Perfect Trio Eyeshadow includes a selection of high impact colours that blend effortlessly and last for hours. With this compact you get three colours in one so in effect you are getting very good value for money. I really like the idea of having three eyeshadows as I do like to change my eye look now and again and having three complimentary colours in one compact is great as you can use all three and blend them together or you can use just one and go for quite a dramatic one colour look. The eyeshadow is divided into three strips of different colours and although each strip is not that big it is enough to get a good even colour and after having one of these for a few months none of them are gone yet so I do think its really good value.
The strips in the compact are horizontal across the compact which I thinks makes it quite easy to hold and then sweep your brush across it to get a nice even coverage on the brush you are going to use to apply to your eyes. The compact comes with a little applicator which is good enough and I tend to use this to apply the eyeshadow.
This eyeshadow comes in such a variety of colours but I have the Cappuccion 30 version which is a really nice blend of brown coffee colours that I find work perfectly on my skin tone. I find that the eyeshadow stays on my lids really well and does tend to last quite a few hours. I don't really get the creases in my eye from this eyeshadow like I do with cheaper eye shadows so I would say its definitely a good quality product.
No7 give you some tips for applying this eyeshadow and they are
1. Apply shade 1 as a highlighter all over lid from lash line to brow.
2. Apply shade 2 onto lower lid, from lash line to the crease of your eye.
3. Apply shade 3 at lash line as an eyeliner.
Some good tips for a good eyeshadow trio.
I was quite disappointed with this eyeshadow as it is not very long wearing compared to others I have used.
After a few hours of applying the eyshadow I noticed it had faded quite a lot and I had to keep reapplying it.
However, it is very compact and the design is nice. The curved applicator allows 4 sides of eyeshadow applicators and is a neat fit.
I also felt with this eyeshadow it was quite hard to get any onto the applicator without really rubbing it onto it. Then it went shiny on top and seemed almost impossible to get any onto the applicator at all.
If you have plenty of time to keep reapplying it the colours are nice in each set but unfortunately I shall be choosing a longer wearing one next time.
Usually No7 products are very good so hopefully they will make this one better.
i used to work for No7 and i found that the trio stay perfect eyeshadows are a good buy. they each came in complimentary colours, normaly in either colours for that season or 'base' colours-colours that anyone who wears eyeshadow must have(normally shades of grey, brown and black) i had no problem using them for makeovers, infact this was my favourite bit! the shadows are really smooth, they glide on your lids and are really good at smudging and blending. i still wear them today, i liked them because i have oliy skin and this is the only eyeshadow i came across that would stay put all night and not crease. but there were two main problems with the trio that i found: the eyeshadows were brought back occasionally because the eyeshadow inserts used to fall out because they wernt glued in correctly and that the applicator is too small and fiddly. i almost always used my own blending brush for this reason! i used to think the price was a bit much but now i think its extortionate at 9.75. it really is a lot to pay especially when its only a boots product!
The Boots No7 range has so many different cosmetic products within it and some are better than others. I have bought these No.7 Stay Perfect Eyeshadow Trio's over a number of years and can honestly say that I like them.
I do think that the price you pay has risen quite dramatically compared to similar brands on the market, as they are now retailing for a hefty £9.75.
Thats a little high for the amount of product in the trio, as some of the L'oreal trios are £3 + cheaper and seem to contain more eyeshadow. The best time to buy the No7 trio is when they are on a promotional offer as then you can pick them up with either a £5 discount or on a 3 4 2 deal in store.
All colours in the range of No7 Stay Perfect Shadows are hypo-allergenic, so ought to be ok for use on sensitive skin. The staying power of the eye shadows is very good, they look as fresh several hours later, as when you have first applied them.
The compact does have a small handy applicator brush, which has a slight curve so its fits inside the compact. However I do think you get a better and more even result with a larger applicator.
They come in a number of colour combos such as , Eden: a green to grey mix, Cappuccino: a subtle blend of darker and lighter browns/ cafe tints, Pretty Posey: a mix of lighter brown and pink. Also, Storm: which I really like. Its a great one for a smokey eye look, as it has a smouldering dark blue, with a silver grey and a lighter highlighter.
There are a few more in the range including Organza, Twilight, Smokey Mint (another nice set) and Renaissance: which is the set I have used most often. It has a nice mix, of a medium bronze/ brown shade, a nice soft gold and a lighter gold/ cream highlighter colour. I have found this one to give you a nice fresh wide eyed look which is good for both day and night time wear.
For best results apply over a good foundation as it helps the shadows staying power. Apply the darker shade from the trio, at lash line as a subtle smokey eyeliner. Then apply the mid shade onto lower eye lid, from your lash line in to the crease of your eye, finish with the lightest shade, as a highlighter from lash line to brow.
Once you get the hang of it, this won't take long to do and the shadow will sit looking pretty for many hours without the need to re apply.
I got this with one of the boots no7 vouchers that they give out if you spend over £5.00. It costs about £9.50 so with the voucher it was a real bargain, I think after using though I would actually pay full price for it. I got the shade Pretty Posey, which is a dusky pink at the top and two different shades of brown below.
I don't very often wear eye shadow, only really if I go out, which even that isn't very often, so I imagine this product will probably last me the rest of my life ! ha.
When you buy this you get an oval shaped compact with three different shades of eye shadow, despite how The product does come with an eye shadow brush with pads on each end, which means if you use both sides you will have a pad for each colour and one spare.
The eye shadow itself goes on very well, I have tried using my finger to apply it but the bottom two colours are in quite thin compartments, which makes this a bit difficult, but if you use the padded brush then it still goes on well.
I have worn this for a night out and did not at any point find the need to re-apply, it stays where you put it too, I have had some that just creep into the creases in your eye lid and look terrible.
I read somewhere that putting the darkest colour in the inner corner of your eye, then lighter ones towards the puter edge makes them look bigger, I tried this and found it was actually quite effective, and the colours blended really well with each other, and actually complimented each other.
I would really recommend this product as it stays put, is easy to apply. It is a tad costly if you haven't got the voucher but for 3 different shades, it's actually pretty good.
So I quiet like this eye shadow trio buisness it means there is no more seaching in the make up bag for eye shadow colours anymore as all the shades I need are in one pot. My favourites are the blues and purples.
There is no shortage in colours from light whites to dark blacks, the only down side is that there is no real bright happy colours in the selection of eye trios which is a bit sad but other than that it is fantastic.
The stay perfect eye shadow trio really does stay perfect and does not dissapear over time so it lasts all day and all night the three colours can be used together or as individuals and is great value for money.
Stay perrfect comes in a black case with a clear plastic lid which allows you to see perfectly what colours you are getting which means no more guessing or testing, which is great if you are in a rush.
The pot even comes with it's own double ended application brush which is slightly covered so you can cover the entire eye lid and not miss out the corners. Brilliant!
I love the colours that are avaliable and they really are not that expensive £9.25 for three colours is great especailly as to buy these as singles cost £7.
So do not miss out on great colours! and brilliant eyes!
I first tried this product due to my sister constently telling me that No7 was a great range. I bought a variety of there make up products and apart from this particular one was ver happy with the way they worked.
This eye shadow is a night mare. I always try to apply my make up with my fingers as i thick you get a better finish. The eyeshadow transfered to my finger but not to my eyes. it felt like it had transfered but there was clearly no colour on my eye lids. i thought that perhaps this was due to me using my finger, but when i tried t with the brush that was supplied in the compact i was stunned to see it not work either.
I like my make up to be suttle but also to be seen once applied. I was very dissapointed, and would not recommened this product to anyone. I will carry on buying the other No7 range but have had to change brands when it comes to my eyeshadow.
I bought this No7 shadow because I was wanting a brown one to bring out my green eyes. It was £9.50 originally, but like the other reviewers on here I had a £5 voucher, so this was quite a bargain for me!
I have this shadow in Renaissance, which is basically a trio of three browns. Or rather, there is a subtle golden shade, which is a highlighter (to go all over the lid) and two other shades, one of which is a pale brown and the other a dark, chocolaty brown. There is also a little double ended curved brush, of the standard sort that you get with eyeshadow. I have to admit I didn't use this, as I find a 'hair' brush much better than sponge.
The standard method for using this trio is the highlighter all over the lid, the pale brown over about half of it, and the dark as an eyeliner.
I've recently become a convert to the Boots No7 range of both makeup and skin care products. I decided when I turned 30 that I was going to stop spending lots of cash on cheap makeup that lasted around five minutes and have some decent stuff.
I like the No7 range because it's not too expensive and they are always handing out vouchers for £5 off which makes it even better value for money.
I decided to get the trio of Stay Perfect eyeshadow because I was going on holiday and wanted the three colours to take with me without taking three separate eyeshadows and paying three separate prices. The price was £9.50 but I bought it as part of a 3 for 2 offer, so I bought my eyeshadow and mascara and got a glitter eyeliner for free, as well as £5 off with my voucher.
There are 13 different eyeshadow trio colours on the Boots website, which is where I buy my makeup from, so there is plenty of colours to choose from. The colour I picked was Number 20 named 'Good Earth' which is two shades of brown and a lighter cream colour for blending. I like this for everyday use as it's not too overpowering.
The shadow comes in an oval shaped case which has the three colours (the lighter shade has slightly more eyeshadow in it than the other two) and comes with a small applicator brush. I don't use this everyday as I find it a bit too fiddly but I did use it on holiday as I didn't take my full makeup brush set.
The eyeshadow itself is easy to apply and I am always careful not to use too much otherwise it can seem overdone.
Now this eyeshadow is advertised as "lasting for hours" on the Boots website and after testing it I have to agree. I put my makeup on at 8.30 in the morning and when I finally came to take it off at 8pm that night it was still in place. What makes it even more remarkable to me was that I had been for my lunchtime swim (but not in the pool as I was feeling idle!) and spent fifteen minutes in the sauna without taking my makeup off. Afterwards I went in the jacuzzi for ten minutes and my friend even commented "you look very relaxed and even your eyemakeup is still intact!"
On closer inspection afterwards my eyeshadow was still there and I only required a quick mascara top up. I did wonder if the heat from the sauna would melt my makeup and I would emerge with panda eyes from all the sweating but I have to say that I was very impressed with the staying power.
I would definitely recommend this eyeshadow and am now looking at buying one or two more trios, perhaps in darker shades for the smoky eyes look.
I absolutely love shopping in Boots and actually spend far too much money in there if I'm honest but reading reviews from others on here I realise I'm really not alone at being a Booties addict! lol.
One brand I do really like is Boots No7 when it comes to make up. At 35 years old I like more sophisticated make-up these days and although this isn't a really cheap range is it cheaper than alot of other more premium make up brands that I like. I own alot of No7 make up and always grab stuff with vouchers I earn in Boots and I do own alot of No7 single eye-shadows and so when I saw this 'Stay Perfect' eyeshadow trio in colours I liked I decided at £9.50 (I did have a £5.00 off the range voucher off the time) I decided I really must treat myself to it!
Black plastic flip open roundish shaped compact with a clear 'window' to the top of it. On the top and in gold writing your simply told it is No7 and then on the bottom the collection of colours are named and numbered *(n my case it's 10, Eden), I'm told it is hypo-allergenic and contact details for Boots are given. Flip open the case and you have three oblongs of powder colours (the top one is larger than the other two) and there is a curved double ended sponge applicator at the bottom of those. Nice, neat little compact this is and what I do appreciate about these compacts is that even in a handbag or in a make up bag with other stuff in it, it doesn't scratch or break easily so it's robust enough but looks nice enough at the same time.
Well the compacts come in 13 colour options and you will find that all colours in the compact compliment eachother. In my case I have a dark green, a light green and then the top colour which is the largest given is meant to be used as a highlighter.
The powders are smooth and whether using the applicator given or your own brushes or whatever I find they really do cling on rather than flaking off anywhere they shouldn't meaning I can get a really polished look with these.
The colours are slightly shimmery and not glittery and incredibly easy to apply and build colour up with and goes on so evenly.
You can of course use these colours as you wish but the idea being that you use the top colour as a highlighter on the top of your eyes, the one under that for the socket and then the dark colour on the bottom as a lash liner. I play about a bit with mine, find them easy to blend and I can either make them look incredibly subtle or really go to town on my eyes, take a little time and really make the colours stand out on my eyes for a more evening wear look.
So as well as being easy to apply and feeling incredibly soft and gentle once on the eyes and none irritating too it really does stay perfect and on for hours without any smudging or creasing at all and as you would expect it is easy to remove as well with your usual make up removing routine.
I really do like this collection of colours which are great for people who can't decide what colours to go for as they give choice and versatility and a really polished look. Make up made easy from Boots, great buy!
