Boots no 7 compact foundation
I tend to try out quite a few foundations and make up products and no 7 is one of the ranges I favour as I generally find they suit my skin and are of good quality.
this promises to give a lightweight and flawless finish which will last all day and which won't block pores. It apparently has soft focus pigments whatever they are for a natural finish. The product has Pro Vitamin B5 and Vitamin E to care for skin and is SPF 15 which I find is always a bonus to protect my skin.
PRODUCT AND PACKAGING...
The foundation packaged inside the usual box with all of the information and instructions for use on the back of the box. Inside is what looks like a compact but a bit larger and thicker than the ones I have seen before. It's quits an attractive little case, black with gold trim and certainly doesn't look unpleasant in my make up bag. When I open up the lid the first thing I find is a thick sponge obviously for the application of the product and when I remove this I have to lift a plastic lid to get to the foundation. This as the name suggests looks like a foundation in compact form. I am used to liquid foundations so this is much dryer ( obviously) but this must be the cream to powder finish it promises.
I have used this colour in other no 7 products so although it looks a bit light than the liquid products I wasn't expecting any issues.
USING THE FOUNDATION...
the product should be dabbed on areas where it is most needed and the. Blended in using the fingertips or the sponge. Immediately I found the sponge too thick to be good for blending and so resorted to using my fingers. Easier said than done since its a thick and almost chalky product which didn't seem to blend especially easily.
PRICE AND AVAILABILITY...
This is available in six shades and given that I didn't have a tan when I bought it I bought the blonde figuring I'd rather look slightly pale than have a tan that finishes at my neck.
It costs £14 and is available from boots stores and also online at www.boots.com.
I did find this foundation difficult to apply and it's certainly one which I imagine takes time and practice to apply effectively. Once it's on it is lighter than I expected and I found I needed some extra colour. It does go nicely from a cream to a powder and gives a good , matte finish although for me it was a bit too thick for everyday use. The fact that it was dryer than liquid foundations meant it has more staying power but because of this it does take more care to make sure all of the product is removed when I. Remove my make up.
I won't be throwing it away but feel its more suited for using on a night out. However, it's not my product of choice and when it's finished I will go back to my usual foundation.
Thanks for reading
Boots No7 Powder Creme Compact Foundation is part of the long established No7 brand of cosmetics and skin care products available at Boots high street stores and on boots.com
The current price of this product is £14 on boots.com. It is currently part of a 3 for 2 deal, which happens frequently. Also look out for the £5 off No7 vouchers instore, which come up from time to time.
The foundation comes in an attractive compact, which is robust enough to leave loose in your handbag without it getting damaged. There is a mirror in the lid and it comes with a sponge applicator. The foundation comes in a range of shades to suit your skin tone.
I really like this foundation and have used it for a year or so now. The blonde shade is a perfect match for my skin. The coverage is really good, although it does need reapplying if you want to keep looking flawless from day to evening. The creme powder finish is really nice and you don't get tide marks. The applicator sponge is good. My only slight issue is that the sponge gets the mirror really dirty, so you need to clean it regularly.
I would recommend this foundation if you are looking for good coverage and a natural finish.
I feel like i have been searching for ever for the best foundation. I have oiley skin, prone to breakouts and ezcema (sounds nice huh!), oh and Im allergic to Lanolin! So from trying Elizabeth Arden, Clinique, Clarins, No 17 the list is endless, and still could not find one i was happy with. That was until I went to the No 7 counter in my local boots and actually spent some time talking to the girl there, describing my skin, telling her what I wanted from my foundation and actually trying some different ones. No 7 products are great for me as no Lanolin and also does not negatively affect my ezcema.
So i ended up purchasing the stay perfect foundation in colour blonde, it suits perfect, the colour is great, I dont have to worry about blending as the colour match is so good and it lasts all day for me. But even if you do need to touch up the compact style container is so handy for a quick touch up while out and about as us mums dont have time to spend hours on our make up!
Also when you have this foundation one it does not feel like your face is caked in make up and it looks natural, which for me is another plus. Also compared to alot of other foundations on the market i feel the cost is reasonable and of course you also get your advantage points to!
As one of the better products that forms part of the No7 make up range, the Stay Perfect Foundation Compact is a real winner. It comes in a handy black compact with gold highlight details, which is completed with a nice little mirror and sponge type applicator puff.
Its very portable and easy to stash in case you need to top up your look whilst out and about. Its priced at £13.50, but often available as part of a promotional 3 4 2 deal or with a £5 off No7 make up voucher. Even at its full retail price I see it as a good buy.
Its creamy but light and smooth texture means that it goes on like a dream, its very long lasting as the name suggests and gives a nice natural result. I find that it doesn't block your pores when applied correctly.
It also benefits from added pro-vitamin B5 plus vitamin E, which can both protect and care for your skin on a daily basis. An extra added bonus is the addition of spf15, so you don't need to wear a separate sunblock. It comes in a range of shades to suit, from Ivory for pale skins to Buff or Almond for a darker skin tone.
Boots say that the 'soft focus pigments' can offer you 'ultimate coverage and translucency' and this is something I would agree with. Its wonderful for covering any redness or flushing of the skin and can be used really very lightly like an anti blemish product, which is really great. Being easy to apply with a non greasy but smooth and even texture means that it gives a more natural effect.
No7 Stay Perfect Foundation Compact also features a kind of cream to powder technology, which Boots say doesn't need anything adding to it, so thats perfect for when you're in a hurry. Although I would recommend that you set the foundation with just a hint of very light highlighter powder, for a great fresh glowy finish.
A little trick for a really natural look, is to use this in combination with the No7 Intelligent Colour Foundation as your base, then to follow up with just a very light hint of the Stay Perfect Compact Foundation to cover blemishes or redness, then dust with highlighter if desired. If applied in this way it will stay on all day and remain as fresh and natural as when you first apply it.
i agree, i have used this product for a number of years and i am going to continue to. although the price is around 13 pounds i think that the product is good value for the money i pay for it. the colour i use is a perfect match for my face and before i started to use it, i had trouble finding the perfect colour. the product also covers up all of my unexpected blemishes on my face. it is also a great match for my skin as no.7 items are suitable for sensitive skin like mine, i always had trouble finding a foundation which would suit to my skin and not bring me out in a big rash, all of the products are the same aswell, for sensitive skin. this is good as well because i can just go to one shop and buy all of make up at the same time without having the hastle of shopping in lots of different stores.
Now I like most of the No7 range, so while out Christmas shopping decided to get a new foundation as my one was on it's last legs. Usually in the past I have used No7 Stay Perfect Liquid Foundation, but my Daughter had just got a new one from Boots and I was quite impressed with it after trying it for a couple of days. This was the No7 Stay Perfect Compact Foundation.
Now she has had this one before, but they have changed the design of it now so it does look different ( much nicer!) from the picture that Dooyoo have provided. It still comes in the usual black cardboard box with the No7 written on gold on the front. With a tiny blue sticker that says "New Formula". I believe that a lot of people like to wear this sort of foundation in the summer as it is very light and doesn't clog the pores up, but I like a light foundation all year round as I hate the feeling of having it pasted all over my face like a clown.
This still comes in a compact form, but now you have to twist the lid to open and where you will find a mirror and a black plastic tray holding a sponge. On flipping up the tray at the side you will find the foundation sitting in a round tray beneath. This looks quite a nice compact as it is finished with a gold edge around the middle making it look a bit swanky.
Now the idea is that you dab a little where you need it cheeks, nose and chin, then blend in with the sponge provided. At first if you have been using a liquid one like me it seems at bit strange and cumbersome, but after a couple of days of using you then think nothing of it and it comes naturally.
This gives a nice light texture, as it is made with a "Super Light Formula" and covers well. It contains SPF15, pro-Vitamin B5 and Vitamin E. Now the only one problem I would say is that it doesn't come in too many colours to choose from and when I got my one I had to ask at the counter which one was right for me. I was told that I needed the 1 shade down on the one I was going to buy ( hope they weren't tricking me!!)so I got the one which was called "Blonde". The shades to choose from are as follows;
This doesn't come cheap at £13.50, but I have a little secret that if you go into Boots and pick up their free magazine, at the back there is a coupon for £5.00 off this compact so that helps to make it more affordable, plus you get your Boots points as well.
I know a lot of people will find this foundation too light, but it is non greasy and stays on all day long, without fading away and leaves a fresh powder look when finished. Also it does give a great cover without clogging the pores and as for the colours being a bit on the light side you can always add some bronzer or blusher ( which is what I do!) for a bit more colour. This is also fragrance free and weighs 12g.
A great 5 stars!
Well hello summer! Finally the suns out shining and summers here in the UK, so I'm intending to enjoy every second of it out and about, but there is a problem..I need an effective, long lasting, light and easy foundation, because I can't wear my heavy foundation in summer, my skin gets all spotty (like puberty all over again..) and my pores get all clogged. So searching for everywhere for a good summer foundation, I came across Boots No 7 Stay Perfect Foundation Compact (that's a mouthful!) and decided to try it and see if it was my perfect summer foundation.
Firstly the product is really compact, with a mirror and a sponge included, which is really good, especially on the go, saves carrying a huge make-up bag around, and it very good for this seasons festivals and fairs, as it can easily fit in pockets and handbags.
Trying the product was easy to apply, the sponge was effective and make it better to get a complete even layer of powder. The actual power was very light, which means my pores won't get clogged up and my face won't become greasy and causes spots. The only downfall with the light powder is that I need to put on a couple of layers, but the amount of powder you apply depends completely on the person, which is a positive as it can be applied easily to suit anyone's needs.
After a hard day's shopping, the foundation is wearing a little bit, but after re-applying my skins looks lovely and soft with a nice summery glow. But also my skin doesn't feel horrible and greasy, which it would do with a heavier foundation, so this product is perfect for the lovely, hot summer days (we hope..).
The price is also fairly cheap at £6ish, which means you've got a lot more money to spend enjoying the summer!
When it comes to buying foundation I'm really funny and fussy about it. Not only do I find it really hard to get a good colour match (because I'm really pale skinned) I hate stuff on my face that feels heavy and unnatural hence why I can't get on with lip-glosses and lipsticks for long lol.
I saw this foundation compact in my local Boots and liked the idea of a compact foundation with a mirror in it and a sponge and trying out the 'New Ivory' colour it actually seemed to blend quite well into my skin and with no real heaviness or colour to it that stuck out like a sore thumb for a change! So I bought one!
The compact comes in a black shiny cardboard box and on the lid it's colour coded and your told your colour on top of the colour it is and it has a number. On the front of the box all in gold writing I'm told it's No7 Stay Perfect Foundation Compact 'For a long-lasting, flawless finish' and I'm told that it is SPF 15 and Hypo-Allergenic. On the back of the box (also all in gold writing ) I'm told a bit about the product, directions for use are given, ingredients are listed, contact details for Boots are there, size is stated (12g) and finally the recycle symbol is displayed.
Now my compact is slightly different (but is the same product as the one that is shown in the review photograph at the top of this page, it's just that in the past couple of weeks they have changed the packaging in some stores to what you can now see) but mine is black, shiny plastic and oval in shape and on the top engraved into it in gold writing is No7 and on the bottom I'm again told what it is, size is stated, contact details for Boots are given and finally the recycle symbol is shown. Flip open the compact mine is a large round circle of the foundation with a sponge that completely covers it and a large proper mirror to the top of it.
A Bit About The Product According To The Back Of The Box And The Compact....

Directions For Use....
Dab a little where you need it most, usually your cheeks, nose and chin. Blend smoothly and evenly with a damp or dry sponge, working downwards and outwards from the centre of your face.
My Experience Using It....
This foundation is incredibly light and easy to apply. You know that from the moment you first go to use it and notice it 'smears' out of the compact rather than blobs out or is like a runny liquid or anything like that. So you dab the sponge over the slightly greasy textured foundation and wipe onto your face. I always use a decent moisturiser first and this goes over any concealers or anything you want to use easily.
With a damp sponge the application is lighter in texture and more dewy looking though still lasts ages on the skin. However I always use the foundation on a dry sponge for little extra coverage because it is so light anyway and I find it blends into the skin incredibly easily. Once on you can't feel it at all and it's as light as feather to wear and totally comfortable and slightly hydrating.
It doesn't fade over time so when you do go to remove this (with whatever make up removal technique you usually use, and it's very simple to remove too!) you can see it is removed! It doesn't crepe, crumble or crease over time, it stays soft on the skin and comfortable to wear and stays put for hours upon hours. I find it doesn't transfer and once it's on I actually forget it's there.
As an every-day foundation I love it. It hasn't upset my sensitive skin at all and because of the light formulation of it I haven't had any spots or blackheads appear. However because it is a light foundation if you have dark circles or spots or discoloured skin... .then this won't help really disguise anything. Of course though you can still use this if your willing to use other products such as concealers and stuff but all this is is a very light foundation that evens up skin tone quite a bit and doesn't seem to agitate the skin.
I've found it to be very economical and for one I don't appear yellow anymore. Ok that's largely down to the sensible colour choice I made but because it's so light in texture it really does appear natural, makes my skin glow but more importantly lets it breath and isn't one bit mask like but still gently and effectively covers my open pores without feeding them!
So impressed with this I actually rushed out and picked my Mum one up for Mothers day. Like me, she uses this daily and feels for night-time she needs something a little heavier than this. A nice daily moisturising foundation though this is!
