Introduction

I am always on the lookout for a foundation which doesn't make me look like David Dickinson. I.e. bright orange. I never quite understood why the youth of today find it fashionable to paint there faces aluminous almost radioactive colours. Showing my age now so I will get to the point. I also have extremely sensitive skin so I have to narrow down the brands that I can buy as so many of these items bring me out in a rash. I was shopping in Boots recently and I discovered a range of products called stay perfect. I had a good look at the items on offer and discovered that the product comes in a variety of colours and not only that it was SPF15 so ideal for the summer months however it was also Hypo-allergenic.

The Packaging

This is part of the No7 range of products available at Boots. It comes in a glass bottle (well they have to justify the price tag somehow) and has a tall black plastic lid. Inside which is a pump action dispenser. The price of the item was a whopping £15 for a 30ml bottle. I managed to buy mine on promotion at £6.98. However I would suggest that it would last for a considerable amount of time as you only really need to use a very small amount of the product at each application. The foundation comes in eight different colours so you are sure to find one that is compatible with your skin tone. The item I purchased was number five in cream.

The Product

The manufacturer states that this product will help your skin resist the signs of make-up meltdown (whatever that is!!!). It has a long-lasting moisturising foundation which is soft and silky and flattering in any light. In addition it will not rub or fade away which will keep your make-up looking freshly applied all day. The main reasons I purchased the item was because it was fragrance free, contained SPF 15, was hypo-allergenic and contained vitamin E which protects the skin without blocking the pores.

Application and Results

This product can be applied using the fingertips or as I do by using a soft make-up sponge. The foundation can squirt out of the dispenser quickly so take care when using it or you may end up having to change your clothing. Although it says its fragrance free there is a slight smell associated with this product. It is clean and fresh and most pleasant. It glides on the skin easily and the foundation itself is not too thick a consistency so getting smooth even coverage is simple to achieve. I was pleased with the overall effects and felt that it gave certain radiance to my skin. I didn't find it felt gloopy like some similar products tend to do it was very light and you quickly forget that you have it on. I have to say the only downside was that I didn't feel that it stayed on all day and I did have to apply the product again, certainly underneath the eyes. Therefore I would not agree with the rub-resistant claims. I did however feel the benefits of having softer skin and received a few compliments regarding my overall complexion.

Overall

I was pleased with this product overall and would certainly be happy to use it again and recommend it for use to other people. I certainly noticed a difference in my skin condition and was pleased with the match of the chosen colour to my skin tone. Application was simple and easy leaving a flawless finish. It did rub off however after several hours. I would grudge paying £15 for the item however it does last a good while. I suppose you get what you pay for. 4 stars.
