Everyone who has read my make up reviews knows that I am a No7 make up girl. I love the stuff and feel that with very few exceptions boots have got it absolutely bang on with their branded products.
The No 7 brand does not only include Make up but a wide range of products including cleansers, Anti-aging and skin care products, Including the much imitated but never yet matched "protect and perfect" beauty serum.

When mum and I went to Take That the other day I happened to mention to her that I had ran out of a few bits of makeup. More a "MUUUUUM!!! can I borrow...!!!" to be responded to with "Where's yours!!"

"erm.... I run out..." muttered sheepishly...

So when I received a text the other day saying simply. "I got your make up" I a) Loved my mother more than i ever thought possible.
b) Hoped she had got the correct shades and
c) Hoped that she hadn't spend too much money on me!

So after Nipping to kent this weekend I took my new lovely No7 shiney make up back home to try.
One of the products that mum had bought for me was "No7 stay perfect foundation. described on the box as "a beautifying and flawless finish that lasts all day"
It sounded brilliant and I was really excited to try it out (sad i know but the black box with shiney purpley bits does that too me from time to time!)

***The Packaging***
As mentioned above the main body of the product is packaged in a cardboard box. The box appears to be black to start with but when it catches the light purple sparkles can be seen. The description of the product is situated on the box ib gold signwriting with a full list of ingredients
on the back.
This is particularly handy as should you be allergic to any of the ingredients you can see them prior to purchase.
Opening the box, the container within is made of either very hard plastic or glass and is frosted. The product is visible within. This is much more helpful than a coloured tube as it is apparent when the product is getting low and you need to restock.
The lid is plastic and the same colour as the box. Removing the lid i can see that the product is dispensed via a pump. This i particularly like as I have found tubes can dispense far to much product and tend to "seep" when the product is getting low. A pump allows you to control the amount that you can dispense and provided you keep the top on accidental pumps are few and far between.

***The product***

The product itself comes in 3 shades, Ivory, Blonde, and Natural. Now I am a a reasonably olive skinned individual and never really look pasty white, therefore when I looked at the label on the box and saw "blonde" I was quite concerned that it was going to make me look quite pale. Mum was insistent that if it wasnt right she would take it back, the product is too costly to waste if not right. However i could see through the bottle that the product was darker than the label let on, almost tan in colour it appeared.
Therefore I was brave and squirted a small amount onto the end of my finger and applied it to my face.
I was shocked! the product appeared almost orange on my skin! I wasnt sure how this was ever going to match my skin tone. However as I rubbed it in it started to match quite effectively. The product was of a perfect consistency, It was thin enough to spread gently and evenly across my skin without dragging and thick enough that it didn't run down my face when i applied it. It had no fragrance that I could detect and I only needed a very small quantity to provide a good result. The only thing that I did notice was that it required blending right into my hairline to avoid a tide mark. This was strange as it didnt appear to alter the natural colour of my skin unduly.

***The After Effects***

Having applied the product I was very pleasantly surprised with the results acheived. My skin did indeed look smooth and flawless as per the box's boast. The dark marks under my eyes were hidden and my complexion looked fresh. My skin didn't look cakey and appeared really natural. It was a fantastic result.
It was over 6 hours now that I applied it to my skin and the product hasnt faded at all I have a particularly troublesome sun spot above my lip that takes a lot to cover up and that is still covered now.

***My Opinion***

A fantastic product that suceeds in everyway. I was exceptionally pleased with the coverage and consistency and how natural the product looks. I didnt feel the need to put powder over the top and would probably only do so on a night out as it really isnt needed. I would say that this product would be suitable for all skin ages and types due to how evenly it covers.
I would highly recommend this foundation. It is a well thought out product by No7 that does exactly as it claims to do. The added inclusion of SPF15 is the cherry on the cake for me as I can be confident wearing it that I am protecting my skin from further damage. The price orginally appears extremely hot, however the product will last for an age, not have to be thrown out when its half empty as the pump prevents bacteria and other gunkiness from spoiling the product and it won't get squeezed out in your handbag due to the design of the bottle.
All in all a fab purchase.

***So How Much Will It Cost Me?***

This product is currently on retail for £14.25 for 30ml
