Boots No7 Extravagant Lashes Mascara
Disadvantages: TOO BIG, SMELLY, CLUMPY, AWKWARD
One of the worst mascaras I have ever bought..I think most other dooyoo opinions will agree!
*About the Product*
Here we have the No7 Extravagant Lashes Mascara. Boots say this is to give you elegant, fluttering show-girl lashes that really open your eyes. This is one of the most recent mascaras released by No7.
This mascara comes in a rather chunky black tube. The details on the tube are the name of the mascara, size and company contact details as well as a little information from Boots. The tube states "Extravagant loading for luxurious volume and a memory polymer that lifts and curls lashes. Hypo-allergenic. On removing the lid, you are greeted with a fairly long mascara wand with a black applicator. The bristles are designed with unique shaped discs and bristles to enhance the curl.
*How do I apply this mascara*
1. Use the corner of the brush to get right to the base of your lashes and sweep the brush upwards turning it slightly as you go for beautifully seperated lifted and curled lashes.
2. There's no need to dip the brush back into the bottle as one dip allows for more than one application due to the innovative square brush shape, simply use another corner of the brush to either apply more product as needed or move to the other eye.
3. For hard to reach bottom lashes, wave the tip of the brush across the lashes for a beautifully defined look.
Note - instruction not supplied on product though available through www.boots.com
*Availability and Price*
As you would expect, this is a Boots exclusive product. The mascara is available in black, brown/black and navy and a 12ml tube will set you back £11.50. No7 can often be on offer 3 for 2, free gift when you spend £22 or £5 off vouchers are issued when you spend within the store.
When I heard No7 were releasing a new mascara, I was eager to try it! I had some money off vouchers so took advantage of this and bagged my mascara at £6.50 and with advantage card points too which is a good price to pay though I was deeply disappointed. I was dubious about the tube being so big as I am used to a smaller Maxfactor or No7 Dream Lash tube which is alot thinner but I bit the bullet and decided this might be good for me and I am a huge fan of No7.
So..applying was ok, I personally did not apply as per the instructions as I didn't know until today that there were any! I applied like normal mascara on the top lashes and then carefully to the bottom. I bought black as this is the only shade I like to use. The application is rather big and I personally found it quite awkward to manouver the brush around my lashes. I had to correct smudges on several attempts and felt that the mascara left my lashes heavy and clumped which was not a good feel. I did not see any improvement in the length and there was nothing extravagant about this mascara! So it went in the makeup bag and I took it out today to do the review. I bought this in December and with the majority of mascaras, it is advised you keep this open for no longer than 6months. So its been 3months since I first used this yet opening today, the mascara was very dry and the smell coming off it was foul so it has went in the bin! I think I will stick to the normal No7 mascaras from now on or maybe Clinique..don't waste your money on this rubbish!
Summary: DON'T WASTE YOUR PENNIES ON THIS
