I tried this recently as my mum bought it for me, trying to be helpful as she knows I like a long eyelashes look. I tried it with the semi-open minded idea that it should be OK for everyday use but that I would stick to my beloved Estee Lauder for my (very rare) nights out.

Well my gosh, how wrong was I?

This mascara is far and away the WORST mascara I have ever tried in my life (and I have tried dozens from Collection 2000 - shouldn't admit that really - to YSL, Dior and my favourite Estee). It is absolutely awful. I am going to try so hard not to let this turn into a rant but it is difficult as I hated this mascara so much.

But in the interests of keeping things objective...

It cost just short of £11 from Boots. It comes in the trademark No7 makeup black bottle, with gold lettering. The packaging looks classy and stylish, with the product name in gold on the tube and No7 in gold on the lid. Very minimalist and effective. As with every mascara I have seen, it has a lid that you unscrew and the wand attached to that, hanging down into the mascara itself.

The wand is not shaped at all other than a slight narrowing at the end and it is of average thickness. Even when I first used it, the wand felt dried-out, as though it had been used for ages and the product was running out.

It is hypo-allergenic, which is good if you have sensitive eyes and skin, although I do not.

It claims to be a 'dramatically lengthening and curling mascara for stunning lashes', and I have just giggled like a schoolgirl when quoting that from the bottle. More like 'this will make your eyelashes appear exactly as they do without mascara on'. A feat in itself really, since even the most ineffective mascaras at least darken lashes.

I can honestly say this mascara is not even tolerable. By my own admission I do like my eyes very defined when I go out on an evening but this is no good for even my natural everyday look! My eyelashes look no darker than normal (though I am dark haired so obviously it would add a bit of colour to blonde lashes) and certainly no longer or curlier.

An utterly pointless product in my experience. No7 still cannot make a decent mascara or foundation!

Summary: Buy this if you don't like the look of mascara. Or save yourself some cash and don't buy any.
