Advantages: Doesn't clag, gives a natural look.
Disadvantages: Doesn't perform that well.
Having had a huge clear out of my cosmetics box, way back in January, I was in terribly short supply of mascaras that weren't dried up. In fact, I had none so as my birthday was fast approaching I put out a request for some new cosmetics with an emphasis on mascaras and this is one of them.
~ Price ~
Boots are currently selling this mascara for £10.30 for a standard 7ml mascara.
No7 also has an offer on for a free cosmetics back when you spend £18+ on selected No7 items.
~ Colours ~
Unlike many other mascaras this is currently only available in black which is fine by me as I never deviate from the bog standard black.
~ Packaging / What it looks like ~
The mascara holder is silver with a sturdy, easy to grip handle section which all aids in the application of it.
The bristles are quite short in comparison to other mascaras I have used.
~ What does No7 promise / say about this product? ~
~ Hypo-allergenic
~ Fragrance free
~ Lifts your lashes while you curl
~ Gives wonderfully wide open eyes!
~ Does the mascara live up to its promise? ~
It all depends on who you are comparing your lashes and eyes to as to whether it gives you that 'wonderfully wide open eye' look!
Once applied it certainly enhances my eyelashes (I'm currently sitting with one set of eyelashes with the mascara on and the other 'natural'). It lifts them slightly and gives them a slight curl to them but it is definitely not a 'Wow, look at those lashes' look!
It gives a natural look which I think is far better for a day time look but not great for my evenings out!
No heavy clagging or false looking lashes. It doesn't flake off during the course of wearing it which some I have used in the past have done as the day or night wears on.
It doesn't claim to be waterproof and since I haven't jumped in a pool with it on or cried then I can't state how much it smudges. However the bonus of it being a 'light' mascara and non-waterproof is that it is very easily removed with eye make-up remover whereas other heavier mascaras have been a bit of a pain to remove.
~ How long does it last? ~
I've had this for a couple of months and in that time there is no sign of
it running out! Granted I don't use this on a daily basis, perhaps only once a week.
~ Would I buy this again? ~
In all honesty I don't think I would. Despite the natural look it doesn't really enhance my lashes enough to justify the cost of it.
~Other No7 Mascaras ~
- Dream Lash
- Extreme Length
- Intense volume
- Lash 360
- Sensitive Eyes
- Stay Perfect
Summary: An adequate mascara but too pricey for what it offers!
