      Mineral foundation

      Boots no 7 mineral perfection

I like the Boots No 7 products and usually buy the regular foundation, and since I have tried most of them and found them to be good quality products I decided to give this one a go.

      WHAT IS IT?

This is advertised as being lighter than traditional make-up, but still with the ability to give you brilliant coverage with a more natural, luminous radiance. It apparently still covers blemishes and imperfections leaving skin looking flawless with a soft and natural finish, for up to 8 hours.

      WHO IS IT FOR?

As with most mineral make ups this is ideal for people with problem skin is ideal for problem skin as well as for sensitive skin since the ingredients include only the finest quality natural minerals. Whilst I don't have problem skin I did like the idea of a light finish especially for day time use.

The product is packaged in a box with all of the information and instructions for use on the box. Inside the box is a small tub with a screw on/off lid and when I unscrew the lid there is a perforated plastic covering and underneath this sits the foundation. Presumably the foundation is supposed to come out through the little holes before it is applied.

The foundation itself is light a loose powder and since mine is Almond, it's a kind of mid brown colour. There are other colours available but I bought this one as it is the colour I use in liquid foundations.

Using a large brush the powder should be applied all over the face. Because of the nature of the powder, extra powder can be applied in areas where it is most needed, to cover any imperfections.

I find it very messy to apply. The theory that with a shake the powder comes out of the holes in the inner lid just doesn't work and so the only method I can use is to remove this inner lid dip the brush into the powder and transfer the overloaded brush to the main lid. All very complex and the powder gets everywhere. It is however necessary to transfer the powder onto another surface so that the there isn't an overload.

Once it is evenly distributed on the brush then it is very easy to apply because it just needs to be brushed onto skin but beware those ever falling bits of powder!

Costing £13.50 for a pot of the stuff this is available from boots stores and also online at www.boots.com

The powder does give nice even coverage and evens out skin tone and imperfections.it lasts for ages because unless you want really thick coverage very little of the product is needed. Used sparingly and with very light liquid as a base it can also be used as a powder to "set" make up because it does give long lasting coverage but I have done this only if out for the night as it could get too heavy.

It can be removed with my normal make up remover and doesn't cause any adverse reactions to my skin

A nice mineral powder which loses a star for sheer messiness!

      Thanks for reading

      Daniela xx
