Advantages: Easily available and looks ok.

Disadvantages: Drying and not very longlasting

I tend to buy quite a lot of No7 makeup especially when there is a gift with purchase. I was running low on my lipliner and needed to spend some extra to get the free gift so I opted for their lipliner. No7 products are available in most Boots stores.

Packaging--

The lip pencil is presented in a long thin plastic tube(about 5 inches) including the cap. The body and cap are all the same colour and are a pretty identical match to the colour of the lip pencil. This is really helpful when selecting a colour, I am quite fair and I opted for "nude". There is gold lettering telling me that this is No7 Perfect Lip Pencil and gives the Boots address. It also states thst it is soft, smooth and moisturising and includes a shapener.

Product--

The product is in a twist up slim pencil format and when I opened it I was pleased to see it had a sharp point. The color was nice and I found it lined my lips easily and smoothly and then I applied lipstick. I am unfortunately of that certain age when a little "bleeding" of lipstick may occur if I am not careful. I found this worked really well to stop this during the morning but by lunchtime I really needed to re-apply it as it seemed to have disappeared! I usually find lip pencils last well when I am at work as I don't get to do much eating or drinking. I wondered if it would work better all over my lips but this was a disaster. My lips looked flat and strange even with a translucent type lipstick over it. I also found that it was not terribly moisturising although it was soft and smooth. After a few days use I thought it was getting a bit blunt and thought it was self sharpening but then I found the hidden weapon!!

The Sharperner--

I must be really thick but it took me several days to work out that if I pulled the end of the body of the pencil REALLY hard it came off to reveal a neat little shapener that gave me a perfectly sharp pencil again. I really feel that it would be better if this was a little clearer as I am sure I can't be the only person to have nearly missed this helpful gadget!

Opinion--

This product cost me about £6.50. It is OK and have nearly finished using it and it has lasted me nearly a couple of months. I must admit I have been a bit penny-pinching in the current climate so after I got to the end of the pencil I took it apart and found about half an inch more lipliner inside the body which I am currently using, doesn't look very elegant but still works! I probably wont buy this again as I think there are bettter equivalent products on the market.

Summary: Not the most exciting product around.

I really like No. 7 products, and if I'm going to use any pencil I prefer the twist up ones. What's caught my interest is the built in sharpener - I just love gadgets - and this sounds like an inspired one.
