Advantages: Moisturising qualities .
Disadvantages: Colour lacks staying power .
*** Boots Claim ***
No7 is only available from Boots. They claim that Sheer Temptation Lipstick provides sheer, glossy, moisturising colour. I like and agree with that, so read on to find out why I wasn't happy with my purchase.
*** Colours ***
It only comes in six colours, but as it is designed not to give bold colour, I didn't find it a problem to pick a colour that I thought would enhance my natural beauty. (Well hubby tells me I'm beautiful anyway, especially if he is after something!)
After experimenting with the testers in the store, I chose the colour "Entice", as it is the closest to my natural colour. This is a light plum colour. I hoped it would live up to its enticing name.
The other colours, which also have temptress-like names, would suit those looking for reds, browns, a darker plum or pink.
*** My Trial ***
After opening the tube, I was disappointed with the size of the lipstick. The container is 8.5 cms long, but only has a scrawny 2.5 cms of product.
The colour was exactly as I hoped, and gave a sheer glossy sheen of plum to my lips, which also felt very moisturised.
I thought I would trial this by putting it on after I had had breakfast, a couple of hours before I ate or drank anything else. I checked on it before I had another cup of coffee and the colour had significantly reduced. After I daintily drunk a cup of coffee the obvious extra colour had fully gone, although my lips still felt moisturised so I guess a little of the product was still there.
I continued to use this lipstick when moisturising was more important to me than colour, but I won't be buying it again.
A bit of good news is that the shiny, silvery, metallic looking, twist up case did not oxidise on my hands to leave an unpleasant smell, as other similar looking packaging from different brands has done in the past, so I was pleased with that.
*** Value for Money ***
I think most cosmetic brands are over-priced, and at a list price of £9.50, this definitely falls into that category.
However, I don't buy No7 unless they have one of their many special offers on.
*** Comparison with other No7 Lipstick Types ***
I think the other two kinds of No7 lipstick are a lot better.
No7 Stay Perfect Lipstick doesn't "stay perfect", but it does last a lot longer than this one. I think the Stay Perfect one is good to use when my lips are in great condition. If my lips are dry, I need to use a lot of moisturiser before I use it, to stop the lipstick coming off with the top layer of my lips (ouch). This seems to be particularly relevant to the cold winter months.
My favourite general purpose lipstick is now No7 Moisture Drench. It is quick and easy to use, and lasts longer on me than the Stay Perfect variety. If I use the colour Chic, it gives just as natural a look as the Sheer Temptation variety.
*** My Recommendation ***
My conclusion is that this Sheer Temptation Lipstick has very poor colour staying power, but with a redeeming feature of great moisturising qualities that last a lot longer than the colour. However, this is a very expensive way to moisturise your lips.
Don't waste your money on this variety, as other No7 lipsticks, which are the same price, are a lot better value.
Summary: Poor colour staying power so I prefer other No7 lipstick varieties.

Gemma1990 - 03/08/08 I prefer gloss to be honest, but only because I can never find a lipstick that actually stays on!!
Great review!
