Advantages: Gets rid of the greasy look

Disadvantages: Not essential

*Introduction*

I am one of many unlucky people that suffer from the 'shiny face' look. No matter what foundation or powder I put on my face, I always seem to have a shiny face in particular my forehead by eleven am. I cannot begin to express how frustrating I find this which is why I bought No 7 Shine Free Make Up Base in the hope that it would eradicate this problem.

*The Claim*

To keep shiny skin under control all day long. The mattifying oil-free base has light reflecting particles which help disguise fine lines and flaws.

*About the Product*

No 7 Shine Free Make Up Base contains oil absorbing Biopol which helps minimise blemishes and blot away shine without blocking pores. It has watermelon and cucumber extracts to help soothe and cool your skin. It stops shine for a matte finish.

*Application*

When applying this product, you need to make sure that you have already performed your cleansing and moisturising routine. Then squeeze a very small amount of the base onto the tip of your finger. Only a small amount is required as the product is deceptive in how far it goes. Less than the size of half of your little fingernail will be enough for all of your face. With the product, you simply smooth it on alone or underneath foundation in order to get satin soft and shine-free skin.

*Price and Availability*

No 7 Shine Free Make Up Base can be bought only from Boots stores therefore it is not widely available to buy. If you don't have a store that is local to you, you can also buy it online at www.boots.com.

This product retails at £10.25 although No 7 often have 3 for 2 offers which is the best circumstance to buy this item as it is fairly expensive when you consider the fact that it is more of a luxury product than an essential. This will certainly not prevent me from purchasing it in the future as the lack of shine on my face that I got from it was very satisfactory.

*My Opinion*

The packaging: This product comes in a white squeezy tube with a screw-on lid. It is virtually the same packaging as Boots No 7 Intelligent Colour Foundation if you are familiar with this product. It is very easy to use as you simply unscrew the lid and squeeze out the product. It is evident to see that it is the Boots No 7 brand as the packaging is the same simple and plain style that they use for all of their range.

Colour, feel and consistency: No 7 Shine Free Make Up Base is a shimmering white colour when squeezed out of the tube. When you rub this onto your skin, the product is clear and you detect no shimmer. The texture of this product is velvety soft, especially when applied. The make-up base is very light which is fantastic as it means that it won't block your pores meaning no additional spots will pop up on your skin if you use it unlike some products.

Smell: This product smells quite sweet and it reminds me a little of Savlon Antiseptic Cream. It is a pleasant smell but it doesn't linger on your face after it has been rubbed in.

Does it keep shiny skin under control all day long? Miraculously, this product does exactly what it states it will. I suffer a great deal from a shiny t-zone and have tried a number of different foundations and powders that state that they will reduce or prevent this from happening but do not. No 7 Shine Free Mae up Base is a superb product that actually stops my forehead and nose from glowing brightly. Thank goodness! Finally, I have found a product that solves this problem and what is even better is that it lasts all day long. Fabulous.

Longevity of the product: This make up base lasts approximately 2-3 months if you use it on a daily basis. This is quite expensive as it isn't an essential item for your make up bag but it works so well to keep your face shine free that once you have used it, I can't see you ever going back to the days when you didn't. And although its price tag is usually over £10, it is a great feeling when you buy it as a 3 for 2 offer. You feel like have got a right bargain.

*Would I Recommend This Product?*

I would recommend No 7 Shine Free Make Up Base without a shadow of a doubt to anybody like me who suffers from shiny skin. It can be very annoying that by eleven in the morning, you face is glowing as though you hadn't even put any foundation or powder on. It works amazingly to keep my face shine free and it so very simple to apply. I will continue to use it as long as it is available and I can afford to do so.

*Overall*

No 7 Shine Free Make Up Base is a great product that keeps your skin shine free all day long. It has certainly satisfied my needs and I will continue to use it. What is even better is that it doesn't block your pores like you may well expect in adding a new product into your skin routine due to its thin consistency, in fact I would go so far as to say it perhaps prevents additional spots and blemishes as the shine is prevented.

Summary: A great preventer of shiny skin

Might have to try this, especially before going out, I always get shiny face syndrome when I've had a few!
