Advantages: Shine, easy to apply
Disadvantages: Takes ages to dry
I love having bright coloured fingernails and toenails however one of the problems which comes with this is the fact that the nail polish chips quickly and after a day or two it needs re-doing otherwise it looks a mess. So while shopping in Boots I picked up No7 top coat, a clear nail varnish to apply to the top of my nice coloured nails which should hopefully reduce the chipping.
As it was Boots owen brand it was slightly cheaper then the other top coats you can buy, however from looking at the bottle you wouldnt know! It is almost a perfect cylinder shape apart from where it curves into the lid and then flares back out at the top this gives the bottle a very funky look and so I can see quite young people wanting to buy this. The bottoms half is glass and so you can see the nail varnish (which is clear) the lid is a dark blue/black colour with No7 written elegantly at the top I feel this makes the product look quite sophiticated.
The brush is attached to the lid and so when it is uncrewed it comes out with it. The brush is quite a chunky one which worried my slightly that it may be difficult to apply it too my nails.
However I found this to be the total opposite the brush is thick enough that you only need to go over the nail once for the varnish to cover your entire nail, which makes applyin it quick and easy.
The one drawback is that it takes the nail varnish quite a while to dry I think by about 10 minutes it was completley dry, which is quite a while, so if you do buy this apply it a while before you go out anywhere.
However once dry it had given my nails a good shine to them which I really liked and have found that it keeps the nail varnish underneath it good condition, as after a week it was only very slightly chipped.
For me this is a must have for those who enjoy having colourful nails!
Summary: Good bargain
