I have recently been using Simply Sensitive Might Moisturiser from Boots which does remind me a lot of the Simple range that I use all the time too. Last time I bought a pot of the Night Moisturizer in this range it was on special offer of buy one and get another for half of the proce. This moisturizer is lovely and rich and thick and creamy, yet despite this it never clogs my pores or makes me break out in spots, which is surprising as I usually have to be really careful about using thick and heavy night creams as they can be very heavy for my skin. It sinks into my skin rapidly and it's great to use f you have been out in the sun all day log like I have today as that is when my skin is at its most sentive and as it contains aloe vera, this makes it feel very cooling and calming and soothing on my skin. IT doesn't really have any fragrance that I am able to detect but it makes my sin feel lovely and smooth and plumps it up. Great to wear just before bed at night but obviously no good to wear as a light day time moisturizer. Lovely stuff and highly recommended.
Introduction- I started using this about 2 years ago when I first found the simply sensitive range in boots which first drew my attention because of the bargain prices and their trademark white and green colour. At the time I was looking for an spf moisturizer with few ingredients so it didn't break out my acne prone skin and I found one. Then I saw this Simply sensitive night moisturizer in boots on offer and decided to try it.
The simply sensitive range has a lot of promotional offers like 1/2 price or a 1/3 off depending on how lucky you are when you visit, its not always in stock so I stock up. I wanted to try this product as I want to take good care of my skin at my age (young ish) so it's good when I'm older and I have fewer wrinkles hopefully. I used to use products like garnier and dove before but they were heavily fragranced and although they smelled beautiful my poor skin didn't appreciate it.
The product- It is packaged in a square box with 50ml of product inside which may not seem like a lot but a little goes a long way. I don't use this every day as for me it is too rich for my skin for everyday as I think it's nice for my skin to have a bit of air on the nights instead of being clogged everyday so I just use it every few days. It is a white liquid which has quite a thick consistency but blends easy and I blend this into my skin while my skins wet so It fully absorbs.
- few ingredients
- suitable for all skin types
- found at most boots stores and online
- none that I can think of
I'd never used a night moisturiser before mainly because I'd never really thought to use one, or thought that I'd even need to use one. However my skin had become so dry that any makeup I wore just sank into any fine lines within an hour or so. Even though I wore plenty of moisturiser underneath. I realised I needed a thicker moisturiser, but wearing one during the day would obviously have been to heavy to wear under makeup. I didn't want to spend more than a couple of pounds on a night moisturiser as I didn't really know what to expect from it. Plus I don't believe in spending loads of money on products that you can find cheaper and just as good, if not better quality products. Trusting other Boot's own brand products, I snapped up a pot of this night moisturiser.
The Simply Sensitive Night Moisturiser is available from Boots from the Simply Sensitive range, for around ￡2. All the products in this range are made for sensitive skin, however they can be used by all skin types. The night moisturiser comes in a simple 50ml green and white pot, and the product itself contains Aloe Vera, to help soothe the skin. The product is white in colour as with most moisturisers and is thick in consistency as night moisturisers are. The product is easy to blend into the skin, leaving the skin feeling soft, soothed and non-greasy.
I basically use this as my last step in my usual night skincare routine. I find that it easily absorbs into my skin, and I only need a small amount for my skin to feel adequately moisturised. I also hate greasy-feeling products on my skin so I was glad to see that this did not feel greasy on my skin. This is a thick moisturiser as you would expect, it may be thicker than some but I can't be sure as I've never used any other night moisturisers. However despite having slightly dry skin, I'm also prone to spots so I hate using products that feel too heavy, enough to make me worry that I might break out. I don't get that worrying feeling with this, which I didn't expect. It's also very easy to wash off in the morning with my L'oreal face wash.
So for the little price and the good job it does of doing what I bought it for, there really isn't anything I can criticise it for. I wanted a night moisturiser to help moisturiser my dry skin, and that's exactly what it did. A few days after using every night, my makeup wasn't sinking into fine lines as quickly as it had. (E.g forehead, smile lines, under eyes, around nose etc.) I've been using this for almost a month now, and I'm glad I can just use this at night, and then in the morning use my usual moisturiser, and a bit of primer as always, and not worry that I'm going to have fine lines showing half way through the day. Nor do I have to worry about my skin looking dry the next day thanks to this.
If you have dry or sensitive and are looking for a new night moisturiser that is Moisturising enough for your skin, yet gentl and light, and inexpensive, then I'd highly recommend this one. My first night moisturiser and probably the only one I'll be buying for quite a while.
