Product Type: Bourjois makeup
Newest Review: ... I wouldn't recommend this if you want a very long lasting polish but I must say it actually lasted longer than the Bourjois 10 day polish ... more

Bourjois 1 Second
Advantages: Easy and fast to apply. It lasts!
It isn't very often that I get down to the last little drip of a bottle of nail varnish, but I have gone nail painting crazy with my bottles of Bourjois 1 seconde nail varnish.
I didn't buy my lot myself, they were a Christmas gift from my boyfriend and when I saw the price of them, I couldn't believe how much he had spent on them. However after having used them for a good few months now, I love them and think they are worth every penny.
These are currently being sold at Boots for £5.99 per bottle! That is a hefty price for a bottle of nail varnish.
The bottles come in a size of 8ml which is about the same as most other nail varnishes.
There are occasional offers on these nail varnishes which are worth catching. When mine were bought, there was a 3 for 2 offer one, so fortunately I got three bottles!
This varnish is called '1 seconde' .. no that isn't a spelling mistake, it's French. The one second doesn't mean it takes 1 second to dry either ... which is what I thought at first haha.
1 Seconde means the varnish takes 1 second to apply. This is hard to believe, but it's actually true!
The brush looks bigger, it covers more of your nail so it can be applied with just a one second swipe. The brush is actually made up of two normal sized brushes places side by side at an angle which catches all of your nail perfectly.
I have found the varnish very easy to work with, it doesn't clump and the colours are always blended into your nail lovely.
The dry time is supposed to be '50 seconds, no smudge', so it isn't the fastest drying nail varnish, but it works for me. However I'm not sure how far I can go to saying it doesn't smudge. Any nail varnish smudges if you swipe it whilst it's still wet.
Overall though, the dry time mixed with the applying time means for a quick and easy paint hassle free, making these varnishes my favourite of all time!
Theres a reasonably good range of colours to choose from, however I've found they are quite soft and neutral and they don't hold any wacky or bright colours.
The colour range consists of;
Shade 2- Pink
Shade 7- Red
Shade 8- Dark Red
Gris Cashmere- Soft Gold
Shade 3- Light Pink
Shade 9- Dark Violet
Shade 23- Pink
Shade 24- Black

I have found there are more to choose from in store, the website doesn't hold all of the colours. I have a glittery colour which is my FAVOURITE. It is clear with bits of glitter in and lovely on top of any base colour. I hope the fact that this colour isn't for sale online doesn't mean its no longer available, because I plan on buying more of this colour!
I currently have two layers of this paint on, a pink with a transparent glittery paint on top and it has last me about a week now without chipping off too much.
The paint doesn't peel off easily which is great for me as I am always tempted! After about a week I have found it does start to chip off a little from my day to day activities, but other than that it keeps fine.
I have also found, the colours blend so well that I can even apply another layer to cover the chipped off bits and it covers lovely. A little buffer over this gets rid of any ridges which may be obviously caused from applying two layers.
Overall; This is my favourite nail varnish, it is well worth every penny. £5.99 is expensive for a nail varnish when considering you can buy other brands of varnish for £1 a bottle, but I have found with this brand you definitely get what you pay for!
I would recommend this, I can't wait to try out some more colours from the range.
Thanks for reading, I also post on Ciao.
Summary: Worth a try, you get what you pay for!
