A double ended pencil which adds definition to and brightens the eyes

I wear quite a lot of eye make up and I love buying new products which will make them look bigger, prettier and brighter. My latest purchase in this area was the Kohl and Contour Shadow and Light eye pencil by Bourjois.

      What does the product do?
The brand new product is a double ended pencil which serves two purposes. The black side is designed to outline the eye giving it definition and making them more 'eye catching.' The second side is white and its purpose is to make the eyes appear more open and brighter by illuminating the skin around them. The product is supposed to last for up to 16 hours and it is suitable for use on those with sensitive eyes and also those who wear contacts.

      Available Shades
At the moment, the only available shade is black and white. Other shades are due to be released soon which work on the same principle with shades that compliment each other such as Green and Gold, Brown and Caramel and Grey and Pink

How do you use the product?
The black side of the pencil is to be used to outline the upper and lower lashes. You need to draw along the lash line with the pencil and a cotton bud can be used to wipe off mistakes. The thicker the line that you draw is, the more intense your look will be. With the white side, you can outline the inner and outer corner of the eye and then blend it in. It should instantly brighten the eyes. When it's time to remove the product, your usual eye make up remover will do the trick.

      Packaging and Price
The product looks like a normal eye pencil except that it is double ended. The one side is a black colour and has a black lid which your pull off and the other side is white and this side has the white lid. The pencil is thin and will fit the average sharpener. The product costs around £4 and it will be available from most department stores, large supermarkets and a variety of online websites.

      Application
The consistency of the eye pencil is creamy which is fantastic and it doesn't drag or pull the delicate skin around the eye area. The pencil glides across the skin and because the black side is so pigmented, I find that I don't need to go over and over the same area in order to achieve the colour that I want. The colour is rich and matte, and it can be built up to look more intense depending on the time of day or occasion that you are wearing it for. The white side is just as easy to apply and because it is so creamy, it is easy to blend into the skin.

      Performance
The black colour is deeply pigmented so it brings out the eyes nicely and gives good definition along the lash line. The white colour is shimmery and metallic. It illuminates the eye nicely and makes you look instantly more awake. The product is long lasting and doesn't smudge or fade with time. It is easily removed using my usual eye make up remover.

Having two products in one saves room in my make up bag and it is easy to update your make up when on the go. The product is easy to sharpen although you need to make sure that there is no debris around the pencil before applying it to the eye. I wear contacts and the product has never caused any irritations with my eye.

      Conclusion
All in all, this is a fantastic eyeliner which adds definition to and brightens the eye. It's easy and quick to use and it has long lasting results. I can't wait to try out the other shades.

      perfect harmony!

No matter what makeup I have on, I will always wear eyeliner whether I am wearing eyeshadow or not. Black liner is great for intensifying eye shadow looks and can also be used alone around the eye to make eyes stand out. I love using white liner also as it gives the bright-eyed look when, perhaps, you are not feeling too bright eyed! I love the fact that this eyeliner pencil is a 2-in-1 as it is perfect for portability.

The black liner is fantastic. The black is super rich and ultra intense. It is easy to blend and smudge- and applied like a dream without skipping or dragging my eyelid. This liner has also solved my never-ending problem of finding a black that will stay in my inner eyeline. It lasts a very long time on every part of my eye.

The white liner is great also. It has all the same qualities as the black liner but can also be used under the eyebrow to give the a lift to the eye.

This has became one of my favourite all time eyeliners. The best part for me is definitely how long lasting it is- and it isn't even advertised as a long lasting liner! I will definitely repurchase... my only fear is that they stop making it!

cool eye pencil that glides on effortlessly

I like the effects of a white and black eye pencil used together to create the illusion of wider eyes. I was doing some of my usual browsing in Boots one afternoon and was on the look out for a white eye liner pencil, as I owned a black one but saw some cool effects done in a magazine with a black and white line.

I went by the Benefit counter and had a look at their white Mr. Frosty pencil, but thought that this was a bit pricey and quite a thick pencil. I usually do like their products but I was on a bit of a budget this time so I decided not to give in. (I think the pencil was 14 pounds and a 8 pounds over what I actually wanted to spend).

So I browsed the cheaper brands without any luck... until I came across the Bourjois 2 in 1 eye pencil. What a cool idea! And the price was ideal as it was exactly in my budget range. (I believe I paid £4.25)
The fact that there was a black pencil on one end and a white on the other, meant that this pencil would be very ideal on the go, as I wouldn't have to take 2 different pencils and was less likely to misplace any of them.

The texture of the pencil is very creamy and smooth to apply. Either of the two colours is smooth and soft enough to apply onto the waterline without causing any problems and I would defiantly recommend this to people looking for a good quality and reasonably priced 2 in 1 eye pencil.
