a great compact for healthy looking skin

I was over at my friends house getting ready for a night out when I borrowed this makeup from her to get ready as I didn't have my own. I instantly fell in love with this makeup and decided to order some for myself online.

There is quite a good range of colours that this makeup comes in, I wear the Hale Natural colour, however there is a good range of darker and more pinky colours also to buy if you search a little online.

I find that this makeup is really easy to apply and blends nicely into my skin, it goes on well and gives great coverage of spots and other marks on my skin. I find that this compact is great to put on with a foundation but it also gives good coverage when it is applied on its own.

One thing that I really like about this compact is that it does not give my skin a shine and keeps my skin from looking shiny throughout the day.

This makeup comes with a sponge pad and mirror which is quite handy to have when I am out and about sometimes, however I usually find that this makeup lasts ages, and there is no need to reapply throughout the day.

I find that when I use this compact regularly, it lasts around 6 weeks, which is quite a long time for a compact. I think this is because it does not take much of this powder to get good results.

      Price and Availability
You can buy this compact for around £10-12 on Amazon and other online stores that supply Bourjois products I think that this is a good price for this compact as it lasts ages and gives me a lovely glow and good complexion.

      Overall
I think that this is a great powder and my new favourite make up to buy for special occasions, it is a little annoying that I can only find this makeup online, but apart from that I am really pleased with how this make up matches my skin tone and looks on my face. Overall I would give this product 5 out of 5 stars.

      Really nice product

Wahay, finally an all in one 'gadget' that you can trust to give you perfect results!

I bought this product all because the clasp on my old compact powder kept coming undone, leading to powder wiping off on EVERYTHING it touched in my bag.. The nice design caught my eye, it has a built in mirror and a sponge, a major plus! The ones i have had in the past, i'd have to take a separate compact mirror so as to apply my powder, but with this it is so easy to use! You can angle the mirror so that you can see your face if you prop the compact up on something, which is easy as it has a flat base.

I purchased the compact for £7.50 from Boots, but there is often offers so you could potentially get it cheaper. It is about palm size, so you can fit it into your bag nicely. It lasts a few months with regular, daily application.

The powder is really good for dry skin especially, as most make up dries my skin out really badly! It goes on light enough to allow your skin to breathe, yet holds your foundation in place all day.. This product is a must have for everyone that likes to touch up their make up throughout the day really easily!

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      A great value powder compact

I began using this compact last year after becoming annoyed with the lack of a mirror in my previous NO7 pressed powder.

I bought in in Boots during a promotion for £5.78 (usual price £7.78) as I was impressed with the packaging and because it had a mirror! Silly I know to buy on this basis but luckily the product was also very good. Anyway it is a round black compact with pink flowers around the rim. It is a decent size and the mirror is large and very clear. It comes with a very soft round sponge which feels lovely on your skin.

      There are 4 colour options:
      Beige Clair (lightest)
      Sable Rose
      Miel Dore
      Abricote (darkest)

I have quite pale, freckly skin and found that Sable Rose suited me best. (I hate pressed powder that makes you look like a ghost!) The powder itself is quite silky and I found it provides longer lasting coverage than my previous compact. It doesn't last all day but as I have a fairly shiny t-zone I always have to reapply throughout the day so this didn't worry me too much. I have applied this straight onto my skin and also on top of foundation and/or concealer and each time it has covered well. As the compact is a decent size I think this should last me quite a while so I feel it is very good value for money.

      A great buy!

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

A good product for any skin type.

After trying out several powder, liquid and mousse foundations, I found that powder was definitely the best for me. I have combination skin, meaning that some of it is normal, around my nose and eyebrows is dry and my forehead is greasy, and quite large pores. I also have slightly uneven skin tone.

After trying out several powder, liquid and mousse foundations, I found that powder was definitely the best for me. I have combination skin, meaning that some of it is normal, around my nose and eyebrows is dry and my forehead is greasy, and quite large pores. I also have slightly uneven skin tone.

When scouring the shops during the post-Christmas sales, I was on the lookout for some new powder foundation. I don't agree with loose powder, as I find it's difficult to use and tends to get everywhere, so I was on the lookout for pressed powder.

It was the packaging of this particular compact that caught my eye. It is black, with a pink floral design around the edge of compact. After looking at the tester samples, I found one that matched my skin tone well, and bought it.

The powder comes with an applicator in the form of a soft white sponge, which feels lovely and soft when using it on your face. My only problem with this is that after a few uses the sponge looks quite dirty.

The powder goes on the face well, and doesn't dry out the skin and takes away shine. It is easy to blend in to the skin, and whilst it helped to even out my skin tone, it didn't cover up the natural rosiness of my cheeks, meaning that I didn't have to use a separate blusher. It also makes my pores look smaller without clogging them, and it is easy to remove at the end of the day.

The mirror in the compact is actually a very clear one, which makes a change from other compacts. The only problem is that powder getting on it can sometimes make it dirty, but I just saved the clear plastic protector that came with the powder to prevent this from happening.

The only problem I really have with this product is that after a few hours it wears off slightly, needing another application. However, due to it's size, included applicator and mirror, it isn't a problem to carry it in your handbag and touch it up when necessary.

All in all, a great product. =]

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

A beauiful pressed powder that looks oh so delicate but is real heavy duty!

I only ever use Max Factor pressed powder as it's the only one I've found to match my skin tone. However I looked in the mirror the other day and I don't know what's happened but I was shocked to see I had a big orange face! Either I've been too heavy handed lately in applying it or I never had the right colour in the first place and no one bothered to tell me! I was so gutted and it left me with a problem!

However I had a voucher from Boot's that would give me £2.00 off certain cosmetic ranges and Bourjois was one of them ranges so I set to work on the almost impossible task of selecting a pressed powder.

Now price isn't an issue really. I mean I'm not made of money but I do really genuinely need this product as I suffer with an Oily T Zone, I have some slight marks on my face and engorged pores, black heads and white heads. I wouldn't dream of putting on make up on and no pressed or loose powder to 'set' my look.

I'm not keen on loose powder I've just never completely got the hang of applying it and not getting it over my clothes and what's more who wants to go out drinking accompanied by a pot of dust in the ladies loos after drinking one too many shandies eh! Nope I prefer a compact and when I look for one I need one that is secure and robust cos I have a nasty habit of dropping things that cost me a fortune!

        The Compact....

Recyclable, black plastic and round weighing 9.5g (powder only) and the compact has a 'lip' that you gently pull up and push down gently to close. This is very secure indeed. On the front of the compact, around the edge is pink flowers and then in the centre I'm told it is Bourjois, Paris. At the bottom is a safety seal that shows the colour and states the number it is and the colour in my case it's 72, Sable Rose. When you take this label off it doesn't mess up your compact which is a nice little bonus! On the back (bottom) of the compact in pink writing I'm told stuff in what I assume is French and then I'm told bit about the product, again number and colour is stated, I'm told that is is dermatologically tested, the ingredients, the weight (as I've stated already) I'm told again it is Bourjois, Paris and finally that it is made in Italy. Hmmm I'm a bit gutted thought this was French chick after all! lol

Opening the compact, in the lid is a mirror as large as the whole lid and it's a proper mirror! Also sponge pad to apply the product with. I really love this compact and I've always bought fairly cheap pressed powders in the past that contain no mirror and sometimes not even an applicator! Never again this mirror is so valuable! I can see why I paid £7.95 for it! (Ok I got discount lol) It just looks so nice and is also robust and doesn't scratch in your handbag and become unsightly!

        About The Product....

Matifying compact powder for a sheer even result, with integrated puff and mirror. Soft and blendable texture.

        Using It....

So to use it do your make up and gently dab or wipe this over the face. I find the best way to apply it is with a large blusher brush but I do like the applicator given in the compact also. It's a lightweight round, white sponge, smooth in texture and like a brush it doesn't pick up heaps of powder at all.

The powder itself when touched with my fingertips for the purpose of this review is incredibly soft and silk like. Even when wiped off my finger I can feel the smoothness still on my skin. It's not powdery or loose and it goes on to an applicator of your choice evenly and sort of like a fine dust without being flaky.

I can apply this in one go. I don't need to keep adding loads a little goes a very long way. You just wipe it over face until it vanishes and if you have the right colour this is so easy to do!

It makes skin feel very soft and really does tackle any shine that you have. It doesn't stop skin getting greasy but with the mirror and the applicator given its easy to touch up if need be. I don't find my skin is as greasy using and there's no problem with me 'topping up' as it doesn't go cloggy and my danger area for this is on the nose. Also if you want to top up make up over this that's fine too and I do find that if I put this on before my eye-shadows I'm not getting to much fading of said eye make up. It doesn't transfer off via hands and really does 'set' make up with making your face feel heavy and cake like. Its a heavy duty bad boy without appearing that way!

It comes off easily with your usual make up removal routine with ease and what's more (if you haven't heard enough already!) is that because it's only lightly fragranced (just smells of make up really and is entirely pleasant) and the fact that it is so light and sheer it doesn't clog pores. In fact since using this I've had no major break outs since I've been using it and the skin on my face does feel alot cleaner in general.

If you do have bad skin although this is gentle and kind it does really help cover up light marks on the skin. I have some light acne scarring and a slight brown patch on my forehead that I'm paranoid of and because of the lovely feeling of this product I didn't think it would be much good at disguising my problems it really is good at that! Whats more is this product will stay put on these problem areas (by the way it only struggles with grease like most products of this types does).

        Overall....

A really brilliant product on all fronts. I love the packaging, how it feels on my skin and the fact that it doesn't upset my dry skin areas and although doesn't completely put up a fight against grease it really doesn't mind mopping it up for you without clogging up and helping to block yet more pores in the process! Will I buy again? Deffo, yes! I love whipping mine out in full view and applying more of this stuff whenever I like and putting on me lippie. It looks so nice and sophisticated but more than that it just happens to work!

        I'm very impressed indeed!

About £7.95 a compact and can be found in a variety of shades in places like Boot's, Superdrug, Sainsbury's and really all over the place!
