      Advantages

      Disadvantages

Recommened, but mainly for the beautiful colours and the lovely sparkle.

For my review of the Bourjois 3D Effect Lip gloss I am using shade 46 - Rose Lyric.

I bought this lip gloss on a complete whim - I am very much a make-up addict, and when I saw that Tesco had a 3 for 2 sale across cosmetics on payday, well, I got very giddy! Straight to the Bourjois stand for me! I do love my lip glosses, lipsticks, lip stains...let's just say lip products in general...and any reason to try a new one is a good reason in my book!

I was first attracted to this particular product over others because of the packaging. It is a lovely looking slim line tube with a shiny silver lid. On the top of the lid is a small coloured disc which reflects the colour of the gloss in the tube, and printed atop is a small silver number representing the shade code. The brand name "Bourjois" and the information "Effect 3D. Volume & Shine Elixir Gloss" is elegantly printed on the tube in silver to match the lid. It looks expensive, high quality, and with the slight curve of the tube and lid, it is very feminine. It was easy to view the vast array of shades at a glance as the tubing is a clear plastic, allowing the glossy & sparkly colours to shine through. As I have said above, I chose the colour 'Rose Lyric'. As you can most probably gather from the name it is a pink shade. Quite a deep pink actually, with a gorgeous slight silver shimmer throughout. It is a very beautiful colour, and quite elegant. Not at all Barbie-esque (though I am not ashamed to admit there is a Barbie pink shade available which I am tempted by!)

Once I had been drawn to the product simply by its visual aspect, I was then won over by its claims; "Action Baum Hydration" and "8hrs" are printed in silver towards the bottom of the tube. Now I have to admit, the claim of it being simply hydrating would be far easier to believe than the full 8 hours of hydration. I say this because I have known the majority of my previous lip glosses to slide off, and print onto drinks glasses etc, so I could not see how I would be able to get 8 hours of hydration from one coat - however - slightly sceptically I did decide to give this a go. I love a product with good hydration, so even in the 8 hour time scale fell through, I was sure I would still be pretty happy.

As soon as I was in the car I was whipping this product from my bag and trying it in the passenger side mirror (much to my boyfriend's bemusement of why I was so excited!) and I was extremely happy. The lid screws off very smoothly, revealing a clear plastic wand and lovely petite application brush. The brush holds a perfect amount of product to cover my bottom lip, allow me to press my lips together, and have a good coverage on both lips. (I, personally however, do love a bit extra cover and sparkle so now I tend to cover my bottom lip; press my lips together; and then dip into the tube again; add another coat to the top lip; press my lips together again; and then am very happy with the look. There is most definitely though, plenty of coverage from the initial application I describe should you like a more subtle look). The pink shade looks stunning - it is not at all 'in your face' and looks a more glamorous version of my natural lip shade, and obviously, the sparkle adds to the glamour (and manages it without making the glitter over shadow the colour of the gloss!)

The applicator is of a very high quality. I have not had any issues with losing any fibres from it, and the brush has not lost its shape. You do have to treat it carefully though, as the hole for the brush to go back in the tube is quite small, and so you could easily damage the brush were you to catch it onto the sides. The casing itself is also high quality. So far, I have not had any of the printed information rub off (though I am sure it will wear away with time) and the lid has only slightly marked/scratched where the silver colour is. I am obviously happy with this as I find when the silver or other colourings start to scratch off a lovely looking lip gloss, it can soon start to look cheap and nasty.

Ok, so down to the feel off the gloss. Well, it really does feel lovely on the lips. It is a very smooth gloss and doesn't feel at all tacky or sticky when applied. It glides on very easily, and does not gunk up or make you feel like you have eaten a very greasy fry up! It almost feels kind of watery on the lip, though not at all in a bad way. It is actually very pleasant. The sparkle cannot be felt, which I am very thankful for. I have had glosses with sparkle before where it felt like I had glued gravel to my lips - awful! Bourjois have very successfully avoided this feeling with this lovely gloss. The sparkle makes my lips look fuller too I believe, as when I applied it I did seem to have a fuller looking 'pout' as it were. I also noticed that when I smiled the lips looked far more smooth and attractive with this on. As I mentioned before "3D Effect" is printed on the tube, and while I have to be honest that I am not sure what a "3D effect" could be on already 3D human lips, I am assuming that this fuller look is perhaps what Bourjois were shooting for, and if that is the case, then the claim made is very much true. My lips most definitely can feel the hydration, and I imagine that is what is to thank for the lack of gunk and stickiness. When wearing my lips feel soft, and after it has been removed my lips do not at all feel dry and I could choose not to apply a balm and still feel soft. As for the "8hrs" of hydration claim printed on the bottle though, I am sad to report that it is not true. Well, in my experience anyway. Just talking seems to wear this gloss away fairly swiftly, and it does not stand any chance against food or drink, so unless you are constantly applying the gloss I do not think you can get 8 hours hydration - there does not seem to be much of a balm left behind when it does come off, and so, there is no product there to hydrate unless you physically keep putting it there. When buying it I did expect this to be the case, as you know, but I was still somewhat deflated at the rate in which it wore away. This is not to say, however, that I do not recommend it - I do. Just do not buy it expecting it to last on an evening out without a fair amount of reapplication because it won't. I have been sat here writing this review for no more than 40 minutes whilst wearing this gloss, and it has almost completely worn away. My lips do feel soft, but over time they are getting dryer and my balm will come out soon.

At £7.99 per 5.7ml tube, this gloss is rather pricey for what it does. In my opinion it is a pretty standard gloss, just with very attractive colours. I perhaps wouldn't pay full price for it, but were I to see it on another 3 for 2 offer, or a similar offer, I will definitely purchase another shade or two. It also has a life of 18 months, and a little does go a long way even if you do have to apply frequently, so I guess if you weighed up the time it is going to last versus the cost it actually isn't too horrendous...but I would still have to see it on sale to purchase again.

All in all, I would recommend this product, but with a warning of don't let the 8hrs of hydration draw you in because that promise is just not true. The colours though are fantastic though so give it a shot if you see a good deal near you! I just can't bring myself to give any more than 3 stars because of the untrue claim, and I feel, overpricing of a pretty standard gloss.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

        A recommended buy

I used to own a brilliant pink sparkly Collection 2000 lip gloss that I preferred to all more expensive ones. Unfortunatley after me using it for years it was discontinued. Since then I have spent ages searching for an afforable alternitive to my favourite lip gloss, and this comes closest.

I love the colour, being blonde and pale I find pink suit me more than harsher stronger colours. I also love anything that sparkles! It is much more of a going out lipp gloss though than a every day work one, as it is very sparkly.

It isn't quite as wonderfully cheap as my previous fabulous lip gloss, however I did buy it on offer and to be honest compared to £20 Benefit ones with no shine it is still on the cheap side of cosmetic prices.

The only down side I've found is it doesn't last that long. Although, this may be because I tend to wear out drinking, and it is much more likely to naturally rub off when I have had several glasses of wine!

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

A so-so product that personally I wouldnt reccomend

As many females do, I am always looking out for the newest and supposedly, best cosmetics on the beauty market. I was recommended the Bourjois Effect 3D Cosmic by a friend who couldn't stop singing its praises, so I went and paid £6.99 for this supposed 'amazing' product in shade 18 Transparent Oniric and was more than dissapointed with the results. Firstly, it was FAR too sticky. I think you would agree that glamourpuss chic is rather hard to achieve when a majority of your hair is stuck to your lips. Secondly, it wasn't long lasting like product promised, it wore off after 20 minutes or so (pre-hair sticking incident). The product dosent advertise lip plumping properties, but I did find it made my lips look much fuller and they felt much more moisturied. Normally for me, Bourjois is a trusted brand, and although this lip gloss provided a lovely shine and made my lips very glossy and full, I would not buy this product again and think £6.99 is rather alot to pay for a product that dosen't last and requires constant re-application.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

        See review.

After dying my hair just before my brothers wedding, and realising that without a nice bold lip colour, I would look like I was a milk bottle on the wedding pictures, I decided that I needed to get me something a bit special for the occasion.

After searching for lipsticks and realising they didn't really look too good, I decided to look for a nice bright lip gloss, hence how I cam across this one.

The lip gloss I will now review is - "Bourjois 3D effect cosmic lipgloss".

I was initially attracted due to the lovely bright red colour that is the base of the gloss, and the second is of course the high amount of glitter too! (I think I may have been a magpie in a former life!).

The tube is long and to me is shaped to fit in your hand perfectly, not that it spends that much time in my hand!

The bottle has a screw lid, which when taken off holds the long wand applicator with a very small oval shaped brush on the end (bristles not foam).

To apply simply sweep brush over the lips, no liner is needed as it is thick enough not to bleed.

The gloss is really thick in consistency, with the glitter not being a lumpy as it looks in the tube, but can still be felt upon the lips, though it doesn't irritate in anyway.

The smell of the gloss is quite sweet, with the taste being the same, pleasant enough.

This really is a nice enough lip gloss, that ticks most of the boxes for me, contains glitter (magpie again!), a nice bright colour that doesn't dilute down any when applied to the lips, not too sticky and a nice brush, that even though small, does just as it should.

The only problem I have is the longevity of the gloss after being applied, even if you don't eat or drink it does last more than ½ hour on me, an I am not one of those people that is constantly licking my lips, so re-applying is a must with this gloss, the final good point.....this stuff looked fantastic in my brothers wedding photo's!

Price wise I managed to get a tube for £1.50 from a cheap make up shop, at full price you are looking at around £6.00 - £9.00, which I wouldn't even consider paying!

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

A great smelling lip gloss, but not "3D"

After recently going on yet another Superdrug splurge, I picked up a Bourjois 3D effect lipgloss, in 45 Rose Fluro. This shade is mix of coral and pink. At £6.99 it was a little pricey, but a girl has gotta have her gloss!

I was instantly drawn to the smell of this when I took the lid off, as it evoked memories of all those sweets I used to eat (and still do!) as a kid, in particular, "Loveheart" sweets. This smell is also quite long lasting, so doesn't go off as soon as you apply it.

The colour itself is not as bright as it is in the tube, so if you want more colour with this gloss I would advise applying a lipstick of a similar shade underneath it, to allow the gloss to add shine to this colour as it's not particularly bright on it's own.

After applying this gloss, my lips are noticeably shiny and glossy but the effect isn't terribly long lasting, so would need re applying if I was to wear this in the day time or at night. As for the supposed "3D effect" does it give this, and is it even possible to have make-up which gives a a 3D effect? I have to say I am a little unconvinced by this claim, as although it does make my lips glossy theres nothing particularly "3D" about them, it's just lipgloss afterall!

On the plus side, unlike some other brands of lipgloss, this isn't overly sticky which means if you accidentally apply too much you aren't going to look like the honey monster on a date! I am generally quite impressed by the Bourjois range as I own eyeshadows/nail polishes by them, so this lipgloss certainly doesn't let the side down on quality. Having said that, the applicator isn't the best I have come across on lip glosses, as it's quite tiny, so doesn't always cover the whole lip in one go.

As the packaging is quite sleek, it would definitely fit into handbags with ease, and the lid is quite easy to reseal, and doesn't get all gunky and horrible around the edges from the gloss spilling out like my Body Shop Lipgloss which is a nightmare because it contains lip staining agents!

So overall, would I recommend this lipgloss? Yes I would. Although it is a little pricey and doesn't necessarily give you a "3D effect", if you are someone who uses lip glosses quite often, then you will probably get good use out of this, and so it would be a worthy purchase. There are a multitude of shades available depending on what you prefer, however I would shop around before purchasing as if you wanted to buy any of this range online it typically charges up to £9 per gloss, which is way more than what it is in Superdrug. There is also a mini bourjois range available with the same gloss only smaller, which is ideal if you don't want to pay for a full sized one (they also come in phone charms which are quite cute!).

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

        You will not be disappointed!

This is not the first and neither will it be the last Bourjois lip gloss i will purchase...HOWEVER it IS the sparkliest! Ok silly girly preference out of the way ...lets get down to the reasons why i advocate such a purchase. i have never been disappointed with Bourjois when it comes to the texture and colour of their products. The packaging is attractive and more importantly unlike other lipgloss' these do not 'gum up'. I would suggest though that when you make a purchase (although possibly not permitted) try and open first to ensure you are not buying one which has a stump of a brush. It has only happened twice to me, but as i have purchased at least a dozen or so, i have improvised by washing and re-using an old one. The consequences of being unlucky to have a stumpy brush is that it does not accurately allow application or brush on smoothly.
This aside, i feel they help condition lips and are not sticky - as some are!

Please also take the time to try out the mini versions (Boots less than £2)which although are primarily made for mobile phones, they are excellent to have attached to your keys, lanyards or handbag...for those emergency situations where luscious lips are a must!

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

Probably not great value for money

        ~Intro~
I have two different products in this range the 'Beige elastic' and the 'Brun Magic'.
Im not a fan of over the top lip glosses, it just doesnt suit me. So I wanted something more than a lip balm but not as heavy as other brands.

        ~THe Positives~
They last AGES without going gunky and the compact design is great for in your handbag.
The applicator is great; short bristles mean precise application and its great to be able to 'wipe' some of the stuff off in the tube, so you dont appy too much. Also the screw like lid is great.
The colours are so versatile, a little applied and a lovely day wear, more and it goes real diva!

        ~The Negatives~
However I do find that it does not last very long, giving great impact at first but within an hour its virtually gone.
The product does taste particularly chemical if you happen to eat some inadvertantly, and is quite sticky.

        ~The Conclusion~
All in all, an inbetween product between a lip balm and gloss, but not really worth the money.

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

Not a bad product but I wouldn't purchase one of these again.

I have used a few Bourjois products over the course of a few years and have found them to be of an acceptable, although not exceptional standard. This brand is what I call an inbetweeny, meaning that it's pretty middle of the road in terms of price and quality, not as cheap as some brands like Rimmel and Collection 2000, but not as expensive as other, in my opinion better quality brands like MAC and Nars for example.

I bought this because I was in need of a decent looking lipgloss for a night out. I didn't have much time to spend looking around so I decided on this one which I purchased from Tesco.

The lipgloss comes in 8 different shades so not a huge choice. I went for the Rose Symphonic (number 20). In the tube, the colour looks to me like a medium pink, but when applied it looks much lighter. I was expecting this anyway as I tested it on the back of my hand before buying.

On the lips, it doesn't seem to look pink at all. There doesn't seem to be much colour pigment and due to the sparkly particles, it looks more white than pink.

I quite like the packaging. The tube is long and slender and the product is visable through the clear plastic of the tube. The silver lid unscrews to reveal a rather long wand with a brush applicator instead of a sponge.

You get 7.5mls of product which in my opinion is quite generous. This is a good thing because this doesn't seem to last long when applied and constant reapplication is required throughout the day.

It glides on nicely, and just like it is meant to, it looks very sparkly indeed. When rubbing your lips together, you can just about feel the little particles which I don't see as a problem and it doesn't feel stickly like some lip glosses can.

The scent of this lip gloss is quite sweet but not overpowering and when applied, you can taste the product slightly.

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

Excellent quality without the designer price tag

I have never been particularly fussy about make up. I like what I like regardless of brand and always try things that are on offer or like to pick up a bargain. If I like it, it usually stick with it until it either goes up in price or I get bored with it.

I had never really purchased a Bourjois product in the past however my local supermarket opened a Bourjois stand in its cosmetics isle and was offering 25% off. As I was in desperate need of a lip gloss, I took the opportunity to get a bargain and opted for their 3D effect lip gloss in Brun Magic.

The RRP was £6.99 but due to the discount it was only £5.25. I didn't think this was overly expensive at all and while you can purchase some lip glosses a lot cheaper, I usually find they are cloggy and don't last very long.

It came in a simple yet functional transparent 75ml tube with a wand for application. You can see very clearly from the tube that the gloss itself is full of sparkles which is very pretty.

I don't know about you, but despite not being very girly when it comes to these things, I still always try make up on as soon as I get home. Immediately I noticed that this gloss had a really nice texture. It was smooth, not too sticky and coated the little brush at the end of the want really well.

The brush looked a little small but the wand was long so I knew it would be easy to reach the bottom of the tube, which is useful when it is almost empty.

I need not have worried about the brush as application was really smooth and even. One dip in the tube was enough to adequately cover my lips. I hate glosses that you need to dip in about 3 times to get enough out.

It also felt really nice. It wasn't at all sticky and there was no overpowering taste or texture. It looked lovely too and made my lips look full and shiny.

Having long hair, one of my pet hates is when my hair blows in the wind, it ends up stuck to my face due to some sticky gloss on my lips. With Bourjois this has never happened and my lips feel sleek and plump.

I also really liked the colour. I have quite dark, sallow skin and some colours just don't suit me, but this has a lovely pink tinge without being overpowering. More subtle application is perfect during the day, while at night for a bit of glam, you can apply a little more and the sparkle really shines through.

Even at £6.99 I think this product is good value for money. It is just as good as some more expensive and designer brands that I have tried. While I don't usually get overenthusiastic about make up I really like this and have used it on a daily basis. I have also done some investigating online and noticed that some sites often do special offers but eBay shops also stock this product and you can usually purchase it for around £3.99 with free postage and packaging. Result!

Overall I would recommend this product to anyone who doesn't want to pay for over priced designer brands but would like the same level of quality.

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

          Plump lips fast

The safe choice for buying me presents at Christmas without opting for vouchers seems to be make up. Lip gloss in particular so it will come as no surprise to you that for Christmas I received a number of lip glosses. One of my favourites was Bourjour 3D Effect .

          ***Packaging***

The lip gloss from Bourjois comes in a long slim 6.5ml tube with a silver lid. The tube is transparent so you can see the lip gloss (quantity and colour) inside of the tube. The Bourjois logo is written on the tube in girly feminine font so the design looks simple yet pretty. The tube is pretty standard however as it is slim and long it makes it quite compact and great for popping in a makeup bag without it being too bulky or a strange shape.

Instead of an applicator wand attached to the lid inside of the tube there is a small brush.

          ***Price***

As this was a present I did not pay for the lipgloss but after a bit of research. 6.5ml tube of Boujois 3D Effect Lipgloss costs £6.99 in Boots. This is reasonably expensive compared to some other high street brand lip glosses and although the effects were very good, you can get just as good lip glosses for under £5.

          ***Application & Results***

The claims on the packaging are that Bourjois Effect 3D Lip Colour "provides super gloss, high shine and beautiful texture in luscious shades with a precision brush for sensational plumped up lips."

This is definitely a claim I would agree with.

The lip gloss comes in six different shades. All of these shades are very natural and neutral looking ranging from different shades with nude brown tones to warmer hints of pink. I tried the lip gloss in rose symphonic, which was a warm pink colour almost nude with a slight hint of pink when applied to lips.

On application the lip gloss felt very silky and quite a wet lip gloss that spreads onto lips easily.

The applicator brush makes the lip gloss very easy to apply allowing the product to be blended into lips. My only criticism would be that the brush can be overloaded at times and you use more product than you would when using an applicator wand.

After application I was very pleased with the results and the look that the Bourjois lip gloss provided. My lips definitely looked fuller and plumper, and extremely glossy. This was very noticeable and lasted for over an hour (without eating or drinking etc).

The colour of the lip gloss was also very impressive. This rose symphonic colour was very natural and subtle giving my lips a hint of pink which was warm and complimented my skin colour without it being very dramatic and creating a lot of impact. The colour is very subtle however the glossiness is less subtle. Lips have a plump effect and as the lip gloss is so shiny it creates a 3D effect and lips really stand out when the light catches this glossiness. I believe this is what creates lips to look plumper and fuller as your attention is drawn to the shine that lips are given from using this lip gloss.

The 3D Effect lip gloss has a pleasant taste and if you do happen to get some in your mouth it is not unpleasant and does not have a greasy or chemical aftertaste which some lip glosses do.

The downside to this lip gloss from Bourjois is that it is quite sticky. When you press lips together you get a very sticky feeling even once it has been applied for over 10 minutes. As you would expect it leaves marks on cups and glasses but does not rub off entirely so is not a product that requires constant application throughout the day. It does however need touching up as it wears off lips unevenly (especially if your lips are dry in patches) which spoils the glossy 3D effect the lip gloss gives to your lips.

          ***Overall***

This is a great lip gloss and range for those that like natural colours but for their lips to have lots of shine and plumpness. After application lips look noticeably plumper and the 3D shine effect definitely creates impact and uses subtle colours and tones.

The main disadvantage of this lip gloss is that it is quite sticky. Price may also be an issue for some. Although I would not categorise this as an "expensive" lip gloss like I would those from premium brands such as Dior, Chanel and Benefit; it is over the £5 mark so not a cheap product either. The results are superior to some cheaper lip glosses I have tried but there are similar products which do the same job for a lower cost.

Plumped up lips, natural tones, great shine and moisturised lips. Worth a try!

Bourjois has a good reputation for selling high quality products at low prices. When I'm in a make-up store, I'm usually browsing at the products at the Chanel counter, but sometimes you'll find me lingering around the make-up counters with the more cheaper products like Bourjois. Bourjois delivers products in exquisite packaging compared to other "cheaper" brands that offer products in plain bottles that far from stand out.

When Bourjois brought out the 3d effect cosmic lip-gloss I was very excited to give it a go, I have average size lips so using products to make them look a bit fuller is something I'm no stranger to.

The lip gloss comes in a slightly long slim plastic transparent tube with a gorgeous silver lid, once again Bourjois has packaged their products wonderfully as the colours go very well together and stand out pretty well. The logo is written on the tube in cute silver writing. There is 7.5ml of the product which is the typical amount of ml you would get if you searched through the different make-up ranges.

I've used various lip plump lip glosses, some have worked wonders and made my lips look twice the size they are, but some have failed miserably and left me feeling less than satisfied. After applying this lip gloss, I could instantly notice the lip glosses plump effect. It left my lips looking really glossy and huge. I wore this product to work one day and several people complimented my lip-gloss choice, it's great to get a bit of recognition for my make-up choices.

I really like the Bourjois 3d effect because not only does it look good but it actually does what it says on the tin. On my bad days I opt for this little beauty because it lights up the whole of my face, because the light reflects off all angles of the lip-gloss it instantly gives a glow to my face on those dull days.

I often wear black, white and grey coloured clothing, so it's quite important to me to wear make-up that is brighter so I don't look dreary.

I chose the Rose Mythic in the Bourjois 3d effect as it is a subtle light pink colour that wouldn't be too empowering and go with any clothing I wear instead of a more "in your face" kind of shade. Bourjois claim this product would last up to 18 months, however I'm pretty sure it wouldn't look too great after 18 months if you were to apply it, because most lip glosses seem to lose their colour and glossiness after a couple of months.

Although I'm a huge lipstick fan, because I like to have a matte finish, I do really like this gloss and do use this quite often for a little change because I love how plump my lips look once I've applied it. I've noticed that after using the lip gloss for a few weeks now that my lips haven't dried up in a while. I tend to have the odd day where my lips will look a bit dry but this definitely hasn't been a problem since using this product. It doesn't claim to have any moisturizing properties but maybe the fact the product is so smooth and glossy could be a key reason why my lips haven't felt dry.

If you want plumper lips, go ahead and try out the Bourjois 3d cosmic effect lip gloss, you will definitely not be disappointed!

              Disadvantages

Great if you can get it at a cheap enough price

I was recently clearing out my makeup drawer in preparation for my summer holiday and I came across this Bourjois Effet 3D lipgloss in my 'Lips' box, amongst many other brands and colours.

I remember I bought it on impulse one Christmas from saveonmakeup.co.uk for the bargain price of £2.99, with the intention of wearing it at the office Christmas party.

For my money I got 7.5ml (or 0.2 Floz) of 3 dimensional shine, so the package says. I'm not actually sure what the colour is, it doesn't say anywhere on the outside, but suffice to say it's a darkish pink and sparkly.

It's quite easy to apply, just unscrew the top and use the wand with a nice little brush on the end to apply the lipgloss with ease. It's quite thick but easy to spread around your lips, it doesn't run easily and the small brush makes it very accurate.

Mine has got a lovely fruity smell which reminds me of a fizzy sweet you used to be able to get from the sweet shop as a kid, although the name escapes me at the moment.

My only gripe with this lipgloss is that it doesn't actually last all that long. I did wear this gloss to the Christmas party and after one drink it needed topping up again which was a bit of a letdown.

Overall this is quite good, it's sparkly and fruity and easy to apply so it was worth the £2.99.

              Advantages

              Disadvantages

A very attractive non sticky 3D glimmering gloss.

---BOURJOIS, PARIS . EFFET 3D COSMIC---

I love the Bourjois range of cosmetics. For me, it is either Benefit or Bourjois and these two are the only brands that I choose to use. Apart from the odd item from Yves Saint Laurent, these two brands deliver imaginative and exciting products that really make me want to own them. The Bourjois brand has a fantastic and up to date image. It is slightly more avant garde in its approach to their image branding than most and I love their products and own many of them.

I am, for my sins, a bit of a 'girly girl'. I suppose I am like any other woman when it comes to make-up, I have shed loads of it, I love it! And I hate to think how much I spend each year in my search for the 'perfect' mascara or lip gloss/plumper. My lips are naturally large so I don't need to go too mad in the plumping department or I would end up looking like Leslie Ash with a bad case of 'Trout Mouth' :o But when Bourjois brought out this 3D lip sparkle/gloss I just had to try it.

              ---BOURJOIS 3D EFFECT---

The product comes in a long slim plastic see-thru dispenser which is 4 and half inches long and it has a shaped silver lid. There is silver writing to the front of, 3D Cosmic, Bourjois, Paris. To the top of the lid is a round plastic insert which shows the colour of the product inside. In my case it shows number 23, which is a deep and vibrant fuchsia pink shade with glittering particles. I usually choose this colour because I have fair skin and blonde hair and it seems to suit my colouring. The contents are 7.5ml and the shelf life once opened is 18 months, though I can't see it lasting that long with me. I use quite a lot of gloss and apply it several times a day. Gloss is not like lipstick and it doesn't hold its colouring and shine for long stretches, so it will need re-applying at regular intervals to maintain its appearance.

The Bourjois 3D effect gloss is completely vacuum sealed in strong plastic when you buy it, which is great, as you will know that no-one else will have tried it on their lips. I hate it when brands don't seal their cosmetics in this way, as anyone could use and try the product, diminishing its content and it is also not very nice as regards to hygiene...On opening the product, the wand rises up, it seems very full and inside the casing seems to be a grip which ensures that it doesn't release too much of the product, so it comes out with just the right amount on the wand. To the tip of the long wand there is a brush which has the 3D lip gloss on, now I don't know if this is me or not, but I am sure that the last one that I bought had a longer brush tip which made it much easier for applying the lip gloss. I just felt that this brush was a bit too short for easy application on the lips. I couldn't get a good sweep of coverage at first. It is supposed to be a precision brush though, so I suppose I will get used to it in time.

The product itself is gorgeous! What I liked on first impression was its lack of stickiness. So many lip glosses are way too sticky and gloopy and just look a mess, but this one was just right. The actual gloss is lovely with a good strength of colour, thickness and sheen, though not entirely 'wet look' it does shine well with the pearlised, sparkle property contained within it. The 3D effect is impressive and gives the lips a real look of fullness, quite a strong pout really and as the light hits the lips from all angles, it gives the 3D quality that it boasts. The fragrance of the gloss is a sweet rose and bubblegum smell, quite a delicate scent and I am really quite taken with this product. The container states that this is brilliance for the lips, a 3 dimensional cosmic shine and I agree. It is perfect! -

              ---SUMMARY---

This is a lovely product. The container is attractive, well made and slim. It has a good seal inside not allowing for spillage. I did get used to the short brush after a while so I don't think that it's a major problem. The thickness of the gloss was just right with a good depth of colour and shine. The scent to it was very pretty and it does give the 3D effect and sparkle quality that it advertises and it also it makes the lips seem fuller. Definitely 'Kiss Me' lips;) The 3D Cosmic gloss comes in a good range of colours so I'm sure that you will find one to suit your colouring. I shall definitely be purchasing this again when my present gloss has run out and I will give the 3D Cosmic 9/10.-
