Advantages: Great packaging and plump lips
Disadvantages: nothing
Bourjois has a good reputation for selling high quality products at low prices. When I'm in a make-up store, I'm usually browsing at the products at the Chanel counter, but sometimes you'll find me lingering around the make-up counters with the more cheaper products like Bourjois. Bourjois delivers products in exquisite packaging compared to other "cheaper" brands that offer products in plain bottles that far from stand out.
When Bourjois brought out the 3d effect cosmic lip-gloss I was very excited to give it a go, I have average size lips so using products to make them look a bit fuller is something I'm no stranger to.
The lip gloss comes in a slightly long slim plastic transparent tube with a gorgeous silver lid, once again Bourjois has packaged their products wonderfully as the colours go very well together and stand out pretty well. The logo is written on the tube in cute silver writing. There is 7.5ml of the product which is the typical amount of ml you would get if you searched through the different make-up ranges.
I've used various lip plump lip glosses, some have worked wonders and made my lips look twice the size they are, but some have failed miserably and left me feeling less than satisfied. After applying this lip gloss, I could instantly notice the lip glosses plump effect. It left my lips looking really glossy and huge. I wore this product to work one day and several people complimented my lip-gloss choice, it's great to get a bit of recognition for my make-up choices.
I really like the Bourjois 3d effect because not only does it look good but it actually does what it says on the tin. On my bad days I opt for this little beauty because it lights up the whole of my face, because the light reflects off all angles of the lip-gloss it instantly gives a glow to my face on those dull days.
I often wear black, white and grey coloured clothing, so it's quite important to me to wear make-up that is brighter so I don't look dreary.
I chose the Rose Mythic in the Bourjois 3d effect as it is a subtle light pink colour that wouldn't be too empowering and go with any clothing I wear instead of a more "in your face" kind of shade. Bourjois claim this product would last up to 18 months, however I'm pretty sure it wouldn't look too great after 18 months if you were to apply it, because most lip glosses seem to lose their colour and glossiness after a couple of months.
Although I'm a huge lipstick fan, because I like to have a matte finish, I do really like this gloss and do use this quite often for a little change because I love how plump my lips look once I've applied it. I've noticed that after using the lip gloss for a few weeks now that my lips haven't dried up in a while. I tend to have the odd day where my lips will look a bit dry but this definitely hasn't been a problem since using this product. It doesn't claim to have any moisturizing properties but maybe the fact the product is so smooth and glossy could be a key reason why my lips haven't felt dry.
If you want plumper lips, go ahead and try out the Bourjois 3d cosmic effect lip gloss, you will definitely not be disappointed!
