Bourjois Effet 3D Nudes
Another old-ish product that I use sporadically when I rediscover it in my make-up box! The Bourjois Effect 3D Nudes lip gloss is one that I like using but I generally prefer using a brighter shade of gloss on a daily basis in pinks and reds.
The lip gloss, like most Bourjois products comes as seen without any fancy packaging just a clear plastic wrapper to keep it hygienically sealed. The gloss has a long, thin and wavy shaped bottle that is see-through on the main body/base with a black screw on lid. I like the shape of the lip gloss, it's like a tall, thin hour glass. The tube has the Bourjois branding on the front and 3D Effect in large, black lettering.
The nude shades collection is available in 3 different nude colours, there's a pinky beige one, an orangey beige one and a brown beige coloured shade. Bourjois also do some lovely bright 3D effect colours in addition to the nude set which I will definitely be trying. I have the brown beige colour, which is like a sparkly sand colour and looks nice and tranquil to look at both in the tube and on your lips.
The lip gloss has a long thin plastic stick inside the lid that you pull out of the tube with a small and thin bristled applicator brush on the end. The stick is a good length to get to the lip gloss even when it is nearly empty, which is great because with some glosses you really struggle to get your last pennies worth out of the bottom! The brush picks up a good amount of gloss to get a nice coverage over your lips without having to double dip. With the bristles being flexible you can apply it evenly and quite accurately across your lips.
The gloss itself is nice and silky smooth without being sticky or greasy. It is quite a thin and runny gloss so it feels light and airy on your lips. The colour I have as I have said is not my favourite as it goes on as a very light beige and doesn't stand out as much as my normal brighter coloured glosses do, but that's what I get for buying a beige lip gloss! The really nice thing about these 3D Effect lip glosses is that they shimmer and sparkle beautifully on your lips and really stand out.
The gloss moisturises lips well and lasts a very long time, not quite the 8 hours as advertised but it certainly withstands drinking, eating and anything else that you throw at them better than your average lip gloss does. So overall I really like this gloss and rate it highly. I will certainly be trying the nice summer shades they have available at some point in the near future. Currently priced at £7.99 in Boots and available in lots of beauty stores.
I have a small make up bag in my handbag which I keep spare bits in for emergency touch ups and as I'm going back to work soon I had a sort out of my office bag. In there was my lipgloss from Boujois 3D collection, in the shade 29 Rose Charismatic which is a nice light pearly pink colour.
The lip gloss is a bullet shaped plastic tube with a silver hourglass (ish) shaped lid which is great for getting hold of. Unscrewed, it has an applicator brush which I prefer to a sponge as it's easier to tell how much product is on there and it also doesn't transfer the colour if you are wearing a lipstick underneath. I really like the end of the lid too which has a shiny disc that is the same colour as the lip gloss inside.
This lip gloss is really nice and has tiny bits of sparkle in it. It applies easily and has a bit of a sweetie smell to it. You can't really feel the bits of glitter on your lips which is good as that would really irritate me. The reflectiveness of this lip gloss is amazing. I bought it a while ago but still can see why I bought it now as it's got some really great shine to it. It has a lasting effect too as long as not too much eating or drinking goes on, I don't need to reapply for a couple of hours if I want to keep up the look but I do usually forget and only reapply once or twice through the day when I am wearing this.
One thing I'm thinking and that is really why this is in my work bag as it is more suited to a night out or a day at the races than it is in the office. It is a tiny bit glittery so may not appeal to all. I like to wear mine as a top coat over lipstick or even a clear balm as it helps to add a bit of sparkle to your make up. I do love it but I think I'm getting over that phase where I have to glitter and sparkle every day of my life (although my toes usually have sparkly polish on them but they are generally hidden under tights or shoes!).
It's been such a long time since I bought this that I genuinely can't remember the price paid but I reckon it was around £5.
I think I have to agree with the 3D part of the title in that the sparkle in the lip gloss does add another dimension to your face. I have to be a bit careful with what I wear on my lips as they are on the large side so I go for neutral and lighter colours as dark colours don't suit me. I do love a bit of lip gloss though and plan to count them all one day just for fun (!) when I can collect them in from the corners of all my handbags and coat pockets, car and all the places I stash them in the house... I probably didn't need this but I really do like it.
My mini make up bag which I keep in my handbag is full of lip glosses, balms and lipsticks. I tend to have a variety of shades all suitable for a certain occasion or event. However, my usual day to day shade are far more neutral, quite pale and this is simply due to my job and the fact that I believe in less is more. I am not brand loyal when it comes to buying a lip product although there are a few items from a certain brand that I have used and now avoid it doesn't mean that I won't trying a different item.
One brand though that I seem to have a few items from is Bourjois. That French brand that always seems to have lovely concession stands with packaging that does look quite chic. I have been using Bourjois products for quite a few years and although I can find them to be a bit hit or miss their lip glosses tend to be quite reliable. One current lip gloss which I use frequently is from the Bourjois Effet 3D Les Nudes in shade no 37. Rose or Chic. Bourjois have since discontinued this range but is readily available online.
== What is it? ==
Bourjois Effet 3D Les Nudes is a lip gloss range by the French brand Bourjois. 'Nudes' is because the range is for those more neutral based colours so ideal for anyone wanting the subtle look. The gloss has been formulated with "shine micro-activators" which help give a smoothing action on your lips, helping to give a natural look. It has also been enriched with a volumising applicator to help give a pout to those lips.
== Packaging ==
The lip gloss like a lot of those from Bourjois comes in a long, slim tube which features a black screw on handle/top and a clear base so you can see which shade you have bought. The 3D Nudes font/product name is in black on the tube together with product information round the other side of the tube. The design is quite minimal which is nice, simple black writing is all that it needs.
== Shade 37/ Rose or Chic ==
Shade 37 or Rose or Chic as it is known was specifically chosen as I preferred it out of the other shades. It has a slight burnt orange tone to it which is out of my normal shade preference but the fact that it is quite a warm shade and not overly bright or in your face was why I liked it.
== In Use ==
The lip gloss you can clearly see in the tube has a metallic hue to it which gives a lovely shimmery finish to it without being too over the top and adds a lovely sheen to the lips. The lip gloss itself isn't ridiculously thick or thin but the sort of consistency making it easy to apply.
The applicator has a very small brush which is a lot smaller compared to other lip glosses I have used which I did think may have been a problem but in fact the smaller brush means that there is less waste and despite the size it manages to give the lips a nice even coverage without the need to keep re-applying to build up the colour. Enough comes out on the brush to cover the lips which is ideal for me as it makes it quick to apply. When applied the lip gloss does feel incredibly light when on and doesn't have that sticky feel to it which is nice. It has a smooth finish which is hardly noticeable when on.
I have found that the lip gloss does actually last for quite sometime on the lips before eventually wearing off. Now, it doesn't last for hours and hours but for me that is absolutely fine. It stays on well for a few hours although the colour does start to wear off slightly but because it is so easy to re-apply that is fine with me. Of course it would be nicer if it lasted longer but I have found that Bourjois lip glosses don't have the longest life span when applied!
== Overall ==
A nice lip gloss for everyday wear and use. It is a shame that it doesn't last a little longer but the fact that it is so easy to apply and it does give a lovely shimmery colour makes up for the fact that it doesn't last for hours and hours. Personally, I'm glad that I didn't pay full price for it as I would have been a little disappointed due to longevity but it does give a great lightweight colour. 4 stars from me.

This was another little "gift" I got from my mom as a hand-me-down when she got a Bourjois gift set for Christmas and as she doesnt wear lip gloss that often she thought I might get more use out of it. And she was oh so right! The shade she gave me was quite a natural colour so I thought it would be perfect for wearing to work and make me look as if I had made a real effort when actually I would have only spent about 30 seconds.
This is slightly different to the normal Bourjois range because all these colours are specifically designed to look "nude" making your lips look really natural but with a slight bit of colour.
I personally own the shade Cosmic Shine but I believe there is another 15 shades ranging from browns to pinks to clear so there is a nude for everyone!

Pout your way to the top!
3 Dimensional shine, super glossy pumped-up lips
A formula enriched with micro crystalline wax for a deep, voluminous and ultra-shiny result. The specially designed brush applicator delivers ultra-glossy precise results with ease.
I really like the brush applicator it makes it so much more easy to apply and is a nice change from other lip glosses I have tried.
Did It Make My Lips Shine?:
Yes it definitely did. I dont usually like glosses that contain glitter because I find that throughout the course of a day the glitter will somehow find its way all over my face and I end up looking like a little girl. I had no such trouble with this gloss it just stayed on my lips and looked shimmering for absolutely ages.
Did The Brush Deliver Precise Results:
I found that using the little brush was proper easy. I managed to get the gloss right onto my cupids bow and get a proper clear line with it without having to use a lip liner so I think the brush makes applying it a hell of a lot easier.
Did It Plump My Lips:
To be honest I found this actually made my lips appear a bit smaller. However in my opinion this wasn't a bad thing because I didnt want my lips to end up looking like Angelina Jolies! I found that because it didnt plump up my lips it ended up looking more natural which can only be a good thing I reckon.
Yes this gloss is very sticky. I dont think that this brings the product down because the colour is so great but the stickiness can become annoying when the wind blows and your hair starts getting stuck. I find putting a little bit of lip balm on underneath stops most of the stickiness anyway so this isnt a big issue for me.
Price & Stockists:
I think this is pretty widely available because I seem to see it being sold everywhere. Id check out Boots & Superdrug. This costs around £7 but I think thats good value for money because one tube lasts you a very long time, Ive been using mine none stop since Christmas and it hasnt gone down at all.
This has a lovely glamorous look without going over the top and still making you look and feel very natural. It is a bit sticky and it wont go to great lengths to moisturise dry lips but it looks good and that is what is important to me. I'll definitely be going to buy this again once mine runs out.

Why I chose this product: I just purchased Bourjois 3D nudes for the first time. I am familiar with the entire Bourjois range and have loved their lipglosses for many years. I'm going on a mini break and wanted a lipglosss that would be useable at daytime or on a night out. This product seemed to provide this.
How much did it cost: Approx, £5.97 which isn't too bad for this line of makeup. I bought mine at Boots but you can pick it up at any store that has a Bourjois counter.
Product description: i chose no# 42 Rose Mythic as it had a light pink tone that would suit my skin type. It is also shimery which claims to enhance the 3d effect of your newly plumped up lips. This shimmer i suspected would be a good touh to see me through to an evening look. This product contains 7,5ml of lipgloss and lasts for 18 months.
Product Performance: This product comes with a brush applicator which i personally prefer to sponge applicators as it helps the lipgloss to remain fresher and useable for longer. The colour is really good and adds just a hint of pink shimmer to the lips. I would recommend this product to medium to olive colour skinned people, in order to complient their skin type. I wor ethis product to the cinema and then on for drinks and it lasted for a good few hours adding hydration to the lips as aopposed to the greasy stickiness that some lipglosses give. Also this product smells like parma violets (remember those sweets?).
My Recommendation: This is a definate contender in the lipgloss world. i would certainly buy this product again and recommend it to a friend.
Hope this review was helpful to you xxx
*Price & Where from*
I bought this lip gloss after deciding I wanted a nude looking gloss for during the day and at work. I wanted something that was a nude colour but not just clear gloss. I found this lip gloss and liked the colour 01-Beige Elastic, which was a peachy colour but not too strong colour.
I bought the 7.5ml bottle for £7.
The lip gloss comes in a long thin bottle, with a black lid. The bottle isn't really exciting but looks classy and simple. It is also light and easy to carry round. I always have it in my bag and it has never leaked or anything.
I had mixed opinions when I tried the lip gloss at home. The gloss had a really nice smell which was a nice start and it felt nice on my lips, making them feel softer and moisturised.
The colour looked how I had expected on the lips and it came out really shiny and did make my lips look a bit bigger because of the shine, therefore they were right about the 3D effect.
However the lip gloss was quite hard to apply. The bottle comes with a small brush applicator (described as 'a precision brush') but it is so small it takes ages to put on and comes out a bit streaky looking and you then have to rub it in to make it look even. This is where the next problem started, it rubs off really easily. Therefore by the time you have rubbed it in to look even it is barely there! I have found even if I don't touch it and out quite a lot on, it disappears very quickly. I think this is because it has quite a watery texture, which I thought was good at first because it means it isn't sticky, but it also means it doesn't last at all. This is a shame because the colour that first comes out is really nice and looks great.
Once it has generally come off it does however leave a kind of glossy finish, only with no colour. Therefore it makes quite a nice clear gloss, but this isn't what I was wanting. Despite this I still use the lip gloss but it isn't one of my favourites. I keep it in my bag as just a general gloss that I put on sometimes. I generally use it as I would a lip balm, when my lips feel dry I put it on to moisturise them a bit.
I definitely wouldn't try this one again, at £7 it was expensive for what has become an everyday lip balm! I've not tried the other colours so perhaps these would be different, particularly the stronger colours. But for now I'll be staying away!
I started using "Bourjouis effect 3d nudes " 1 month ago; I've purchased other bojour products such as the eye shadows and I really liked them so I already had a positive view on Bourjouis make-up as I felt they delivered good quality products with a great range of colours to choose from.
My friend recommended I tried out this lip-gloss as its one of the best lip-glosses Bourjouis offers.
I'd also tried the borjous 3d effect lipgloss which i thought looked great but i wanted to try something that made my lips look lighter as my lips are very dark.
I spent £6.95 on this product, this pricing is reasonable as its made by a reliable make-up brand and the after effects of this lip-gloss are excellent.
What does the promo say about the lip-gloss?
Discover a new dimension of light reflecting, nude shades for a high shine natural result.
A super glossy, sheer texture in chic barely there shades that give elegant three dimensional volume.
Precision brush for sensational plumped-up lips.
Shades available in this product
Brun Poetic 33
Rose Mythic 34
Nude Energic 35
Theres only three shades available for this product, usually id say the more colours the better but for this product a small amount of shades suits the idea of the object, the object is obviously to make your lips look nude and so by having three choices its plenty as you can chose from a nude pink nude tan and a nude brown.
~~~ Pout power ~~~
My lips look so plump when I wear this lip-gloss. It's probably because shiny which made them look a lot bigger then they usually are. I think it creates a really glamour pout as light reflects from the gloss at all angles.
This lip-gloss has a average staying power, it stays on for up to an hour which is quiet good for a lip-gloss, obviously I would defiantly expected a lot longer for a lipstick as most lipsticks are matte.
Taste and Scent
The taste isn't too bad compared to my other lip glosses.
The smell isn't that bad either, I've bought lip glosses in the past and the taste and smell were revolting,
My verdict of this product
Bourjouis lip-gloss is one of my favourite lip glosses. My lips look very glamorous and leaves my once dried lips smooth and moisturized
I love the light-weight feeling of this product it's not too heavy and my lips don't have that cheap sticky feel to them.
