Advantages: Price was okay
Disadvantages: Difficult to apply, doesnt last
I am a loyal Bourjois customer, I love their products and have never been disappointed by anything I have purchased from them ...until now. It wasnt a bad price at £9.99 and as it was the only 'kit' I could find that day it worked out the cheapest option.
I've used French manicure polishes before and always find the white tip really difficult to get right. Not going to a problem here I thought smugly, as the Bourjois one has a specially designed brush, cut at an angle to help you get it on perfectly. Or in theory at least - in practice its not the case at all.
I found it almost impossible to get the right amount on the brush - slightly too much and it pools on your nail, not enough and it becomes almost transparent. The angled brush did not help at all, it just aided in the creation of odd 'v' shapes instead of a nice smooth curve.
The next coat went on okay and the top coat was also easy and smooth to apply, although I felt as though it had been a marathon task that had taken up a huge chunk of my evening by the time I had finished.
The worst however was yet to come - despite the trusted manufacturer and despite my careful and patient application, by lunchtime the following day my nails were badly chipped and looked as though I'd been wearing it for a week.
This has become the latest addition to my 'only use in case of emergency' toiletries bag and sits at the bottom, looking thoroughly ashamed of itself.
Had this been some bargain basement supermarket brand I could have forgiven and forgotten but I'm afraid I've been badly let down.
Summary: Wont be using again, just not worth the effort
