Advantages: Colour match, durability, lightweight.

Disadvantages: Does not cover blemishes or prevent oiliness.

With a naturally fair (being the polite word) complexion, I am regularly told I look 'tired' and 'pale' when I don't wear make up. However, I felt I had a bigger first world issue than this. Yes, that's right; the dreaded uneven skin tone. I wanted a product that would take care of these minor grievances, but I had preconceptions that foundation was cakey, flaky, thick paint favoured by the older woman. Purchasing Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation put these notions to bed.

The shade I chose was 'Light Vanilla (51)' which is the lightest colour and I would recommend this for those who would describe their skin tone as very fair/pale. It is liquid and comes in a 30ML transparent bottle which features a dispenser pump, not only making it easy to dispense the required amount, but hygienic too. Do not be deceived that in the bottle the colour looks too beige or warm as it blends beautifully! This foundation definitely gives you a fresh dewy look and as the copy reads, a 'glowing complexion' without even a hint of orange. It also smells slightly fruity but it is not overpowering or sickly and the scent fades during wear. Moreover, it has longevity so I only have to apply it in the morning and it lasts all day. It does not look heavy or cakey so I don't notice I'm wearing it but it still aids evening skin tone, creating a smooth palette.

Unfortunately this is not a miracle product. As it is lightweight it doesn't cover blemishes/under-eye bags very well and so they are still noticeable if you don't use concealer. Also, as someone with an oily t-zone, I can regrettably confirm that it doesn't prevent oiliness so is best used in conjunction with a loose powder. Nevertheless, I still think this is a great product and the benefits such as natural colour match, lightweight feel and longevity outweigh the flaws.
