Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation is by far the best budget foundation I have ever used, and at only £11 it's a real steal.
The packaging is fairly good. It's a very slim, light tube, with a decent pump which doesn't get clogged. It's plastic and not exactly luxurious, but it does the job and is at the top end of what you would expect for a cheaper foundation.
The foundation itself is very slightly on the runnier side, which makes it really nice and easy to blend. It gives light coverage, although you can build it up slightly with a good foundation brush. It really does make the skin look really healthy with a light glow and gives a nice even complexion. It certainly doesn't cake on the skin. It's great for dry to normal skin and it's very slightly on the dewy side - for someone with slightly oily skin I think it would be ok with a touch of powder, but for very oily I wouldn't recommend it.
As this foundation gives a very light coverage you can't feel it on your skin and for this reason I tend to use this foundation more in summer, when it's hot outside and you don't want feel or look like you're wearing heavy make up.
The one disadvantage is that is doesn't last all day. It does claim to last 16 hours, and I would say with really thorough blending with a foundation brush and some powder you would get most of the day out of it, but generally it doesn't last as long as some of the more premium brands.
All in all though a very good foundation for the price
A makeup artist actually recommended this foundation to me, saying it was a favourite of hers and uses it alot on her clients. So I dashed out to buy it as im forever trying to find the perfect foundation and I thought I cant go much wrong if shes the expert!
And so that day, the search for the perfect foundation had ended! Id finally found it!
This is a gorgeous foundation and works so well for me.
I have pretty dry skin, with it being especially dry on and around my nose area. This makes foundation buying a very hard job for me as alot of the time it sticks to the dry bits and makes it look 100x worse!
I have the colour 53 in light beige and it matches me perfectly! the packaging is great and not at all bulky, its a slim glass tube which is perfect for travel as it can just slip into any bag without taking much room up. I also like the pump on it which is really handy and hygienic so you know the foundation is always going to remain clean and not get any dust or anything falling into it.
Another thing I like about this foundation is it's smell, as alot of foundations all seem to have the same sort of smell to them. This one has an apricot/floral type of scent to it and it really is such a gorgeous smell!! I know this isnt going to be to everyones taste but it's not that overpowering if the scent isnt your thing, it does go away after the foundation has dried!
The foundation itself once applied is a light coverage but can easily be built to a medium, which is another thing I like about it as you can wear this for any occasion, whether you want a natural daytime look or an evening look. It's definately the most natural looking foundation ive tried and it even gives you a nice radiant healthy glow! As I said earlier, I'm prone to pretty dry skin and alot of the time foundation clings to the dry patches yet this foundation doesnt at all! It injects some life into my skin as it's pretty moisturising so its perfect for people like me with dry skin. Not sure how suited this would be for someone with oily skin though as it might just be too much.
The staying power is pretty good too, on the bottle it says 16 hours though not sure whether it lasts that long as I dont normally wear it for any more than 16 hours. Seems to last all night when im out on the town though!
Even though the packaging might look abit on the small side, a little does go a long way and it's lasted me a long time and from the look of mine I still have alot of product left.
For a drugstore makeup brand it's a little pricey at £10.99 which isnt that unreasonable and it's definately worth it! I bet if you sampled this not knowing what brand it was you'd guess it'd be from a high end makeup brand, the quality of the foundation is that good. When I run out of it I will definately be looking no further and repurchasing it!
When money ran tight and the last of my bobbi brown foundation ran out I knew i had to bite the bullet and hit superdrug. After a bit of research I narrowed my choices down to this, the bourjois healthy mix serum foundation, and the revlon nearly naked foundation.
The bourjois healthy mix made the cut, as shade 53 was the best shade match i could find, and i'm very glad it did. The shade is actually a perfect colour match and I have gone and rebought this foundation as as i'm very near the end - a budget convert.
I apply this with a brush, but have found it to work just as well when applied with fingers also. On application it is very sheer, but it is buildable allowing you to get more coverage as and when you need it. It has a lasting power of around 7 hours, but this is improved when you use a primer underneath. It is also easily blendable, and I find that after using my buffing brush it looks very natural. It definately has some form of light reflection, as i feel it makes me look brighter, but not in such a way that my face appears glittery or shimmery.
This foundation can be found in boots or superdrug and costs £10.99. I really enjoy using it for an every day foundation and will happily repurchase.
I have been using this foundation for about 7 months now and it is definitely a go to product for me. I bought this originally because I heard a lot about it and I was really attracted to the word 'healthy', it made the foundation seems ...well...Healthy! The packaging is quite standard- it is a cylinder shape with a red lid and a white pump. The foundation is quite runny and when blended in, you can hardly see that you put any foundation on. I think this foundation is good for people who have normal skin with not many spots, scars or imperfections because the coverage is not that high. This is great for days when you don't want to wear a lot of make up but still want to have a healthy complexion. This comes in many shades so I am sure you will find the shade for you. You can get this in Boots and Superdrug and is priced at 9.99. I definitely recommend this foundation.
I love this foundation its great value for money at only £9.99Smells amazing like berries and fruitAlso great for the skin as it has vitamins in the foundationIts a gel based foundation which doesn't feel too heavy Coverage is light however buildable so a great summer foundation Has only 6 shades which can be a problem for darker skin
Longing for healthy looking skin I had been using the Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation and myself and my skin were loving the results! When it ran out, I went to purchase a new bottle and noticed the 'Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum' - as I am in love with this brand at the moment I decided to give it a try and see which one I preferred.
There are 6 shades to choose from in this particular foundation. They are:
51 - Light Vanilla (Lightest shade available but still had a good amount of colour to give a glowing complexion)
52 - Vanilla (Slightly more tanned option, I would wear this during the summer to match my tan!)
53 - Light Beige (Gorgeous 'perfect tan' colour with a slight shimmer)
55 - Dark Beige (Darker tan shade would suit olive to dark skin tones)
56 - Light Bronze (One of the darkest shades with pinkish undertones)
58 - Dark Bronze (The darkest shade of the range)
Bourjois claim that this foundation 'gives your skin a radiance boost as the instant blending gel texture glides onto the skin evenly and naturally with no mask effect' all imperfections and signs of fatigue are banished and smoothed away whilst boosting your skins natural radiance for up to 16 hours straight! Wow! I have to say that an aspect I was eager to try about this foundation was that it was labelled as a 'gel formula' I was expecting it to appear to me looking like a shampoo or something - however I found myself slightly disappointed when it was just the same texture as any other liquid make up, not too sure where the gel attributes come into things!
If you have used the Healthy Mix range before you will know they promote the use of Fruit Therapy in their ingredients. In the serum version it contains 3 main super fruits (think super-banana-man!)
1.) Lychee - A small round fruit that looks a little like a mini mozzarella ball, that has sweetly scented flesh, a large central stone and a thin but rough skin. It has been added to this foundation because it is very good at protecting our skin from harmful UV rays.
2.) Goji Berry - Also known as the Wolfberry (Grr!) it's a quite large redish berry sort of like a small plum that are known in the super fruit world for their anti oxidant properties.
3) Pomegranate - Well known tropical fruit that helps boost collagen and fight against signs of ageing and wrinkles.
I don't know about you but that all sounds rather yummy! The unique fruit ingredients are packed with vitamins to erase signs of fatigue and even out our complexion. You are supposed to be 69% more radiant after 4 weeks of use - so after 2 months you will probably be glowing in the dark!
The packaging is very stylish and fresh with a plastic cylinder bottle that is sturdy and not going to break or spill if your drop it. The bottle itself is skin tone coloured with relevant information and ingredients displayed around the surface. When you take the lid off there is a white pump to aid easy application - I love that it is very easy to control how much product you dispense as to not waste any.
The texture is very creamy and velvety with a gorgeous fruity scent that I find divine as it is not too sickly or over powering - just refreshing. I apply this with a foundation or buffing brush to give me a full coverage, however if you want a lighter coverage you can use your fingers or a damp make up sponge! It glides on effortlessly and I find that I don't have to wear a lot of powder over the top to set it - just a little on the T-Zone.
The instant 'melting effect' and a 'semi-matte' finish help to blend in with your skin tone to look more natural and erase any imperfections.
This foundation would suit anyone - if you have oily skin then this would be great as you could just pop on some powder to the areas you feel you need to and for dry skin this would be perfect as it does not dry out your skin or cake and sit in patches!
On comparison to the original Healthy Mix Foundation I would not say they were completely different to one another. One big difference would be that the Serum gives a better coverage as it is fuller and thicker so I would wear this in the winter and perhaps change to the foundation in the summer. It also last longer although not the 16 hours it claims, more like 8 before you need a touch up but that still pretty good going for a drug store product!
I paid £10.99 for this at Boots however you can purchase online or in any store that stocks Bourjois.
Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Foundation: Shade 51 Light Vanilla
I purchased this foundation a couple of months ago and I have been using it almost every day I have worn makeup since. I have wanted to try a bourjois foundation for a while but none have been suited to my skin type before really. Also the other bourjois foundations have not had as much press/blog/make up artist following before this one really (with the exception of the original healthy mix foundation). After reading/watching the rave reviews of this product I thought it was going to be fantastic but I was a bit disappointed by this foundation overall.
- Product description (from the bourjois UK website)
"Give your skin a radiance boost with Bourjois' Healthy Mix Serum Gel foundation - made from a vitamin-rich fruit therapy formula for an even complexion and an instant anti-fatigue result! Made from an instant anti-fatigue vitamin-rich fruit therapy formula with litchi, goji berries and pomegranates. Available in 6 radiance-boosting shades."
- About the product and product claims
I bought this product in the shade '51 light vanilla' which is the lightest shade available in the UK - I think in some countries this shade is not available due to the low demand/need for this shade. The bottle and lid are plastic and the bottle is clear therefore you can see how much foundation you have left. Also the bottle has a pump dispenser which is great as it is easy and quick to use and it is hygienic. There is 30ml or 1 fl oz of foundation in each bottle. This foundation is stated to give a semi matte finish to the skin and this product claims to have a gel texture/formula. Also this foundation contains vitamin rich fruits such as lychee, goji berries and pomegrante. The claims for this product are as follows: this foundation is stated to last for 16 hours and give you a radiant boosting, even, revived complexion for 16 hours. This foundation also claims be instant anti fatigue (the claims previously stated are from the foundation bottle). This product also claims to feel light on the skin (from the bourjois UK website).
- Shade: '51 light vanilla'
The shade I purchased is '51 light vanilla' which is the lightest shade available in the UK as far as I am aware. According to the bourjois website this foundation range has been made with "an ideal balance of pink and yellow, to match all skin tones and boost your skin a radiance boost." Therefore as this foundation is stated to have a balance of pink and yellow tones the shades would be classified as neutral (not too pink or too yellow toned). I would disagree with this, for my skin tone anyway. I have pink undertones in my skin so pinker toned foundations suit me more and look natural on my skin. This foundation looks really quite yellow based to me, or it does look fairly yellow on my skin tone anyway, which is really quite disappointing; especially when this foundation claims to be neutral toned/balanced. The shade is not the best match for my pale, pink toned skin as it is slightly too dark for my skin - even though it is the lightest shade. Also this foundation looks a bit too yellow/orange on my skin which does not look that natural, in my opinion. When blended this foundation shade looks fairly good on my skin but it is still slightly too dark for me and it is slightly too yellow. Overall, I am a bit disappointed with this shade as it is not light enough and it is yellow toned, in my opinion, even though it is stated to have "an ideal balance of pink and yellow." I would rate the shade 3/5.
- Scent, consistency and texture
Firstly, the scent. As with most bourjois products there is a scent, which smells quite nice but as I have sensitive skin it is not a great addition. My skin is not as sensitive as it used to be (as my eczema is nearly gone completely now) so this product even though it is scented does not irritate my skin at all really. Although the first few times I used this product there was very, minor irritation experienced which does not occur now though. The scent is fairly strong, which some people will not like, also if you have sensitive skin you may not like this product as it could irritate your skin. Overall, the scent smells like a floral perfume to me and in my opinion you don't really want to put something on your face that smells like a fairly strong perfume! The scent itself is fairly nice overall but it is a completely unnecessary addition to a foundation, in my opinion and I would have preferred this product to be unscented. The consistency of this foundation is quite nice, it is fairly thick as it does not really run down my hand after it has been dispensed. I would not really say that the consistency is very gel like - as stated on the bottle/website. The consistency is just like a liquid foundation but a bit thicker. The texture of this foundation is fairly generic really, it is really smooth, silky and liquid. Overall, I like the consistency and texture but the addition of a scent to this product is completely unnecessary, in my opinion.
Firstly, before I apply any foundation I apply my moisturiser which is always my Simple rich moisturiser which is fantastic. After a couple of minutes I then apply my Body Shop moisturising face primer which is also fantastic and it really helps this foundation to smooth over dry patches and not really emphasize dryness as much. I then mix some of my Simple moisturiser with this foundation as I find that this foundation on its own does highlight dry patches and the minor occasional blemish. I use one full pump of this foundation and combined with my moisturiser is enough to cover my 90% of my face. If using this product without the moisturiser I would probably need two pumps to cover my face. Mixing this foundation with my moisturiser makes it a tiny bit lighter and it makes it a lot more hydrating. I first tried this foundation without mixing it with my moisturiser and it look awful on my skin. As my skin is dry this foundation without the added moisturiser emphasizes some dryness and it just does not look great on my skin on its own. This foundation is named the 'healthy mix serum' foundation and it is supposed to give you a radiant complexion so I thought that it would be somewhat moisturising but it isn't, which is really quite disappointing. After mixing the foundation I then apply it and I have tried numerous methods of applying this foundation such as: with my fingers, my real techniques expert face brush, my real techniques buffing brush and my cosmopolitan beauty perfection sponge. Using my fingers to apply this foundation was ok although it gave a sheer/light coverage. Using my real techniques buffing brush made this foundation look really streaky and unnatural. Using my real techniques expert face brush was ok but it does work better with my other foundations.
I find that the best way to apply this product, for me, is with a foundation sponge. I use my cosmopolitan beauty sponge with this product and it works amazingly as I have dry skin I find that the sponge does not emphasize dryness at all and it gives a gorgeous finish that is completely streak/line free with all of my foundations! This foundation works really well with my foundation sponge as the foundation is only really light/medium coverage (more so light coverage because of the addition of the moisturiser) and the sponge gets the most coverage out of the foundation without having to use a flat, traditional foundation which could leave streaks. I just dab the foundation sponge onto the skin to apply and blend the foundation and it does work really well with the sponge. I like the application of this foundation with the sponge and this foundation does have a nice smooth texture which remains so on the skin. I would rate the overall application at 3/5.
When all of the foundation is applied I am left with a average amount of coverage but not as much as I need and initially this foundation leaves my skin with a semi matte finish, as stated on the bottle, so my skin does not look matte but it is not dewy/moisturised looking on the skin. Initially I do not really like the finish of this foundation as it is a bit too matte looking for me, as I am used to really quite dewy/moisturising foundations - so I do not need to powder my skin. In terms of coverage I find that I do not get enough coverage out of this foundation as I need/want as my skins natural redness does show through fairly easily after this foundation has been applied. Also this foundation does not cover my blemishes well at all - although on the other hand this product does cover my pores really well! One of the products main claims is that it is supposed to make your skin look more radiant and in my opinion this product does make my skin look quite radiant and glowing, for a while.
The radiance from this product does not make the skin look glittery or shimmery but it looks like a subtle dewy, natural sheen - but it does not look very greasy. Due to the radiant effect of this foundation I would not really recommend this product to people who have very oily skin as the radiant sheen/glow may be mistaken for oil. Overall, I am not that impressed with this foundation, in terms of results and the results are quite mixed for me. I find that the foundation looks quite nice on the skin, it feels really light weight on the skin and it covers pores really well. Although on the other hand this foundation does not have enough coverage for me, it can emphasize dryness if used on its own and it doesn't cover blemishes/spots/redness at all really. Also this foundation can let oily though really easily and it can look patchy after a while. I would rate the results at: 3/5.
- Longevity of the foundation on the skin
This product has an average longevity on my skin (dry/sensitive) and it lasts for about 6-8 hours on my skin depending on the weather. For example, if the weather is hotter then this foundation can slide off my face in the very few slightly oily areas. Also if my skin very dry then this foundation can make my skin look even more dry, flat and dull. I have dry skin but around my nose I can get a bit of oil and I find that this foundation just tends to slide off in the oiler areas of my skin. This foundation can sometimes slide off the oiler areas and stick to the drier areas of my skin causing this foundation to look a bit patchy sometimes. Overall, I am a bit disappointed with this foundation as I really like Bourjois as a brand and I am usually a fan of their products but this product did not live up to most of its claims and it has fairly average longevity and the wear is not that great. I would rate the longevity at: 2.5/5.
- Would I purchase this again and would I recommend this foundation?
Personally I would not buy this foundation again and it was really quite disappointing for me and it did not live up to some of its claims - although I will continue to purchase Bourjois products. I would not really recommend this foundation to people who have: very oily skin because of the radiant effect, very sensitive skin because of the strong scent or very fair/dark skin tones as there are only six shades of this foundation! I would recommend this foundation for people who have fairly normal skin types and people who only need light/buildable coverage.
- Price and availability
I purchased this foundation from boots and it is currently priced at: £10.99, which is not the cheapest foundation but it is definitely not the most expensive. This product can also be purchased from: Superdrug for £10.99 and you can also find it on eBay and in large supermarkets such as Tesco.
*Easy to apply with either my real techniques expert face brush or my cosmopolitan beauty sponge (available at amazon.co.uk)
*Good price, in my opinion and fairly widely available
*Packaging is great as it has pump and the bottle is clear
*Light feeling on the skin - does not feel heavy or greasy really
*Does not really irritate my skin - only very minor irritation when I first used this product
*Glow/radiant finish on the skin
*Masks/covers pores really well, in my opinion
*Not enough coverage for me personally
*Not as moisturising/radiant as I thought it would be - I have to add moisturiser to the foundation
*Used on its own it does emphasize my dryness
*Fairly strong scent which is completely unnecessary in a foundation, in my opinion - although it does not cause blemishes or break outs with me
*Does not last 16 hours - it does start to wear off after about 6-7 hours
*Can look a little bit patchy on the drier or greasier areas of my skin
Thank you for reading my review - this review is already posted on ciao under my username labellavita1992
So, I've been looking for a decent, lightweight foundation for longer than i can remember! Some are too thick, some too thin but this.. fits just right!
This foundation is available at boots/superdrug priced at around £10 so your average price for a decent foundation at a decent 30ml size. Its packaging draws you in as its rather bright and very busy, lots of informative information. Its extremely light in weight too which makes you think its empty, but its not! The applicator slides down with ease and doesnt get clogged up unlike other cheaper brands. It stays clean free and dispenses great.
Onto the foundation, to me bourjois has always been a trusted brand so i looked forward to using the product. I chose the '52 Vanilla' shade and on application it slides over your skin extremely well. It runs straight across your skin, and doesnt get stuck in any of your pores which i love. It spreads out evenly and you only need a little bit of foundation each time. The foundation itself is very smooth, light and when applying feels quite wet. Its a weird sensation and feels like its making your skin wet but infact its not! Due to the wide span of colours they have, it gives a light, fresh coverage and you can't actually tell you have foundation on but your skin looks flawless! Perfect for all occassions.
This foundation stays on all day, with or without a primer. It doesnt get patchy, go dry or come off all over you hands. It simply stays attached to your skin all day! I was really impressed with this. On removing the foundation, its also simple with a face wipe and doesnt leave a rash or marks on your skin.
Overall, a flawless, extremely light foundation that lasts all day without making you orange! Definetly my favourite foundation!
I've have to be very careful purchasing foundation. I have the kind of skin tone more usually associated with vampires or zombies (my mother kindly describes it as 'deathly pale'), so I have to make sure that whatever I'm plastering on my skin is going to be a decent match. Foundation that's too dark will give me a not-so-sexy, orangey 'LOOK AT ME! I'M WEARING FOUNDATION!!' look... ditto anything that's too thick. My ideal foundation needs to be something with a natural finish that will just take the edge off that almost glow-in-the-dark whiteness.
I picked up a bottle of Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum foundation after reading a couple of good reviews in magazines. I liked the idea of a foundation that would give me '16 hours radiance boosting' and an 'even, revived complexion'. The closest shade to my pallor available was 51 Light Vanilla. I was unsure how 'vitamin-rich fruit therapy' would be useful in a foundation- good for the skin?- but 'instant anti-fatigue' sounded good.
First impressions of this foundation were really pleasant. The serum foundation is light and easily blendable with a nice, slightly fruity smell. The colour wasn't too bad at all, although I would probably have liked it to be a little paler. The advantages of a lightweight serum are obvious when you try it- this foundation feels nice and light on the skin and doesn't clog up your pores. Once I put it on, I didn't feel like I was wearing foundation, which is a real plus. Overall, this gave me an even finish, and it didn't look like I was wearing any make-up at all.
During the day, I didn't need to re-apply and my complexion looked nice and even. After a few weeks of using, my skin was still in decent shape- I wouldn't say it looked any better, but it didn't look any worse either, and my skin was pretty healthy to begin with.
On the whole, I'd recommend this... but Bourjois, if you're listening, it would be great if you could make something a little paler!
As a student, I am always looking for a good foundation for everyday use and one that will not break my budget. Still a makeup beginner, I tried couple foundations like BB cream (MIssha-perfect cover, BRTC jasmine water, skinfood-aloe... that's another story), Maybelline dream matte mousse, Maybelline angelfit, the body shop-flawless skin protecting foundation (separate review -http://members.dooyoo.co.uk/ makeup/the-body-shop-flawless- skin-protecting-foundation/1612839/)
Usually drugstore foundations give me break out on my Tzone the next day or even the night of. That is why I had to stay away from drugstore foundation for so many years and rather use BB cream as they don't tends to break me out while giving a good coverage. I didn't have much space in my luggage when I moved to Scotland from Canada, so I can only brought my BB cream with me. I am running low on my HG BRTC jasmine water BB cream, and since I moved to UK, its rather difficult to get korean cosmetic. After seeing numerous review on youtube, blog and done some researches, I decided to go to the Bounjois counter in my local superdrug and tested it out myself. (not to mention, superdrug is doing a 3 for 2 deal, I end up getting this liquid foundation, a mineral press powder and bronzing powder for only 20 pounds, round up to 6.7 pounds for the foundation, that is great saving!!) --> so after you read this review, go check out your local superdrug!! as I grabbed the last bottle in my colour on the shelf!
Okay, enough of my chat....
[Little big about Bourjois]
Founded by Joseph-Albert Ponsin in 1863, and later passed on to Alexandre-Napoléon Bourjois in 1868. The company blossomed in the hands of Monsieur Bourjois, who made it internationally known. From makeup and perfume for theatre actor and actress in France, Bourjois "Continue to invent, create and design clever, feminine products that simplify beauty. Make Parisian style accessible to all women by providing daring looks that are tasteful and easy to achieve...without breaking the bank. Enable every woman to fully express her inner style and creativity."
I remember I read someone's blog that Bourjois is a drug store line of Channel, I have never tried Channel's product as I am still a student and cannot avoid 70 dollars for a foundation but heard a lot of great review on their products....
On its FAQ, the company explains they do not test its product on animal, which is a big plus for me as I am against using animal to test on cosmetic. You can never thought that high end brand such Loreal Paris, Lancome, Biotherm do test on animal....
This foundations claims "Give your skin a radiance boost with Bourjois' Healthy Mix Serum Gel foundation - made from a vitamin-rich fruit therapy formula for an even complexion and an instant anti-fatigue result!
Its fresh and instant blending gel texture blends and glides onto the skin for an even, natural finish with no mask effect. Imperfections are erased, signs of fatigue are smoothed and the skin's radiance is boosted for up to 16 hours*."
"The foundation is hypo-allergenic and allergy tested "
--> the word hypo allergenic only means it is LESS likely to give you a allergic reaction, but everyone's skin is different, so there is still chances to have a break out. Allergy tested doesn't meant they passed the allergy test. --> marketing strategy here. But nevertheless, it didn't give me a break out and I tense to break out with liquid foundation.
"Made from an instant anti-fatigue vitamin-rich fruit therapy formula with litchi, goji berries and pomegranates."
--> I doubt there is any benefit from fruit, (certain fruits are rich in vitamin C, E, B and K) but being in a glass bottle, even if there was vitamin enrichment, they would have oxidized with sunlight within an hour of exposure.... so just believe what you believe in...
-I am MC 25-30 (been to Mac counter and ask) with yellow undertone (being an Asian)
-25 in winter and 30 in summer
-#53 was a better match for me than #52. The foundation looks darker in the bottle but will evens out once you apply it on.
-I have combination skin: oily in T zone and normal for the rest of my face. However, I feel like my face are turning into sensitive as I start getting redness easily and less oily in my T zone during winter.
-the product has a beige undertone
I am a sucker for packaging. The product is in a basic glass jar with a pump applicator. Much more hygienic and better control on the usage of the product. I like the red cap and glass jar, much better than the original healthy mix which comes in a plastic container and a black cap.
Fruity!! I love the scents! I honestly feel like although makeup enhance our feature but feeling confident about yourself / feeling good about yourself can overcome any makeup. Nothing is better than waking up in the morning and enjoy your makeup routine with a nice fragrance. It really brighten my mood up! The scent last about 5-10 minutes in my hand. The only thing is strong fragrence= alcohol= more likely to have allergic response especially to some that are allergic to alcohol. But nevertheless, I didn't have an allergic response to it.
I use two pumps [one big pump and a half pump] for my face. The foundation is much thinner in consistency compare to other foundations. It is definitely not a gel texture, but in between serum and liquid foundation. I pumped the foundation in the back of my hand and make multiples dots in my face and spread out with my hands. I like applying foundation with my hands because its feel more hygienic (i don't wash my brushes everyday....) and I feel like the heat from your palm melts the foundation which will blend into your skin better. But you can definitely use a stippling brush or kabuki brush if you like.
How i feel with the texture: very thin, light, silky and soft. Blends into your skin very quickly and easily. It doesn't have a masking effect unlike other foundation. It just felt like I am putting on an other layer of lotion/ serum on my face. It didn't make me feel uncomfortable as my face can still breath within layer of makeup (-->that's a big plus to me)
- my concern is my minimal acne scars in my forehead, redness and under-eye circle. With one layer, it manages to cover my redness and a little to my scar and under-eye circle, but hey, that's what concealers are for, right? I love how my face gets an instant glow as soon as I apply this foundation, just like putting serum on. Once it absorbed to your skin, it turns to a semi-matte finish just like the product claims. It gives you the effect- "your face but better!!". Like I had 10 hours sleep last night.
-you can definitely put on another layer once the foundation dried, and with 2 layers it is almost a medium coverage, but I think that defeat the purpose of the natural and healthy skin it claims.
-the product is not for you if you are looking for heavier coverage.
-I usually take my makeup off right after I got home after school, so it can last for more than 6-7 hours and still staying matte. I do notice it wears off in my T zone (oily) first.
I would definitely repurchase when I run out and recommend to people with normal/ combination skin, but I read people's blog with dry skin also liking it ( i would believe so because the consistent of the foundation is serum like). In general, it give a nice glow to my face, the packaging and scent is lovely. I have nothing to complain about this product except the lacking powder to cover my severe dark eye circle ( but no foundation I tried can pull that off anyway...). Great price for what it does, recommend for beginner and people that don't want to break their budget. I only give 4 stars because it is really light on coverage power.
