I've always wanted to achieve the smoky eye look, and a good eyeliner is key to that. Liquid liner is supposed to be the best to use to enhance the appearance of your eyes because it gives a more dramatic and long lasting appearance. I've tried many eyeliners and anything other than a basic kohl one always looks a bit silly on me. I find the liquid eyeliners with the really fine points really fiddly to use so when I saw rave reviews about this eyeliner I was instantly interested, and so treated myself to it hoping that this would be the fab liquid eyeliner I'd be looking for. I paid around £7 for it in Boots but it might be a bit cheaper online.

The Liner Feutre is a liquid eyeliner that instead of coming in a little pot, is in the form of a pen. On appearances it does look very much like a felt tip pen. It's long and slim with a cap that pulls off to reveal the nib of the pen, just like a normal pen. The nib forms a quite narrow tip for easier use. The pen tells us that it's a felt-tip pen that provides long lasting results, and this in written in both English and French which is typical of the Bourjois brand.

So I gave it a go, held it in my hand like a pen and tried to draw as fine a line as I could along my eyelid against my lash line. Not as easy as I thought. The nib was nice and soft as advertised, and it was less fiddly than regular liquid liners but I still struggled to keep the pen in a straight line and the nib wasn't as narrow as it seemed. I've only got small eyelids so there isn't really much room for error and even keeping as close to my lash line as I could, the eyeliner covered practically all my lid. Not a good look. Other people may not have that problem but my rubbish eyelids were barely even visible by the time I'd finished. I think the fact I am quite fair also meant that the black was far too dramatic and dark for my skin tone.

As silly as I looked with what looked like big black circles round my eyes, I decided to leave it on just to see how long it would last (only because I wasn't leaving the house!). It was actually really long lasting, I rubbed my eyes and it stayed put. It didn't rub away and make me look like a panda, but this also meant I struggled to get it to come off, even using my Clinique eye makeup remover that I usually swear by. Like most liquid eyeliners it isn't suitable for blending but I suppose it all depends what you are using it for.

Due to the design of the liner I do think that it could dry up quite quickly, especially if the lid is not put on correctly.

So to sum up, it's a good long lasting eyeliner which gives a dramatic effect if you haven't got small eyelids and a wobbly hand!

Advantages -
Might be suitable for steady hands and bigger eyelids
Easy to hold
Soft nib
Long lasting
Popular with other people

Disadvantages -
Nib not narrow enough for my eyes
Hard to remove when you've made a mess!
Made me look silly

Summary: Maybe it's just me...

I agree a pencil is best for the smouldering look. This liquid liner is too harsh. Good review ;-)
