==Bourjois Little Pot of Eye Shadow==
Eye shadows seem to be of abundance in my make up drawer and most of them are hardly used as I tend to try out new brands and slightly different shades (very slightly) and if I don't like them leave them unused and occasionally try them again to see if they suit me any better over time, which generally they don't and then they sit in the drawer until my biannual clear out or donation to mum.
This Bourjois Little pot of Eye shadow could probably be thrown out as I have had it for a good few years now and I can't see myself using it any time soon. Seeing as it has an 18 month use by guide on the back of the little pot I think after writing this review I will pop it in the bin. I haven't actually used that much of this little pot which goes to show how well I liked it.
I purchased this, like I do most of my make up products, from Boots where I don't think I paid over £6 for it and if my memory serves me there was some kind of special offer on so I would have paid even less for it. The RRP at Boots now has only gone up slightly in the time that I have had this product and it is now priced at £6.49. This isn't a bad price as there is a 1.5 grams in the little pot and it does seem like a good amount.
The packaging that the eye shadow comes in is really good too and the little pot is much more than any other brand seems to pack their single shadows in. Not only is the clasp which holds the lid onto the pot very firm and will ensure that the pot doesn't come open in the make up bag unexpectedly but the plastic the pot is made from is super tough and rather unlikely to break. I seem to have so many little flimsy pots of eye shadow that break and then the shadow inside will be exposed and break up making a right royal mess and of course being a waste of product.
Alongside the well made pot there is also a small little padded applicator brush included within the pot and this is not only helpful to have but appears to be well made and works well, even if I tend to use my own brushes. Yet another great feature of the little pot is that there is a mirror inside the lid! This is really unusual for a single eye shadow and although I haven't used it myself I think it is a nice addition that if I were to be taking the eye shadow out and about then it would come in really handy.
I have the shade 08 Beige Rose, which is the kind of natural shade I tend to opt for in most eye shadows and different brands. The product inside the little pot is raised into a kind of dome shape on first use and takes a few strokes of an applicator brush in order to loosen up the compacted eye shadow powder. I liked the way that a good amount of product was on the brush with minimal effort even though the shadow appears to be really compacted into the pot.
As I said before I have not really used much of this product and I think for the reason was that the shade was just a little too light for me and didn't give me enough creaminess which I usually opt for. The powder was soft and smooth and easy to apply but the tone for me was a little too Rosy and not Beige enough. I have no problems with how the product was in general but just the tone I chose. I was always impressed with the length of the coverage even if I didn't much look of my pinker than usual eyes.
I think I would be more than happy to buy this brand of eye shadow again although I wouldn't opt for this particular shade as it doesn't suit my skin tones or work very well with my look. You get a good product for your money when buying this little pot of eye shadow from Bourjois and just because I didn't like the shade I think I can't mark it down too much as I was impressed with the overall packaging and product. I think I will be fair and give it a score of 4 out of 5 star and I would recommend it as it will just depend on which shade you get and whether it suits you or not otherwise its a great product.
I do hope that this has been of some help/interest to you
Many thanks for taking the time to read.
