“ Brand: Bourjois / Type: Lipstick „
Over the past few weeks Ive been trying out loads of different products fromy lips as basically Im searching for the perfect lipgloss/stick that is the perfect shade for me and Ive found some really great products along the way that Ive been trying to write about over the last few days so all you Dooyoo'ers know how great or maybe not so great they are - luckily this one falls into the first catagory as it is pretty great. The product in question is "Bourjois Lovely Brille" which is actually marketed as a gloss but in my opinion looks and feels much more like a lipstick - but Im no expert!
Price: Around £3
Stockists: Boots, Superdrug ETC
Shades: Now there is a really wide range of shades for this particular product so Im not going to list them all here but the range includes LOADS of different pink shades with a few reds and browns thrown in for good measure. I think everyone will be ableto find a shade the like and that suits them from this range but my personal favourite and the one I own is "Cocktail De Cerises" which is a really vibrant pink shade.
This is super easy to applyas like most lipsticks it is slightly angled at the top so it fits your lips easily and glides across them in one smooth motion rather than having to keep stopping and starting because its so thick. So in a way this does go on like a gloss but it just doesnt feel or look like one once its on your lips. Its not that its super thick or anything but the finished colour does look very matte rather that sleek and shiny. Not saying thats a bad thing but thats just the way it is. Now as this is so matte I do recommend exfoliating your lips slightly with a toothbrush beforehand as otherwise it will sink into your lips and just exaggerate any dry bits. And also I recommend applying some gloss over the top if you want a slightly less matte finish which at times I do.
The colour that my personal lipstick gives is very bright and vivid but I dont think it washes my skin out at all but its definatelyonly for when you want to be noticed as with this bright pink shade your definately not going to blend into the background. But it does give a really great finish that tends to last about 5 hours with our without gloss and thats when your doing everyday things like eating so I think thats really good personally. This is cheap and cheerful and works really good and I will continue to wear it even though its not exactly an everyday wear product but I guess that will ensure it lasts me even longer so no complaints there.
I definately recommend this as it has a wide range of shades, looks great on, easy to apply and lasts for a long time. I dont think it should be marketed as a gloss though because it really isnt and for that it loses a star. However I do recommend it.

I am a big cosmetics fan,and so have a rather large collection of lipsticks eyeshadows etc. This particular lippy by bourjois is a fave. The colour I use is Rose belneaire, which is a subtle shade of purple and pink. There's no glitter which makes it ideal for daily wear, but the colour can be built up for a more dramatic and deeper shade.
This however, is not why its a favourite. It's the luxurious 'feel' it leaves on the lips which make it different to other lipsticks on the market. Even when my lips are having a dry day, after applying the lipstick ,they're left irresistably smooth.Even better, the lipstick stays put, which is very rare with glossy lipsticks.I find that it stays on for most of the day before i touch up which is pretty impressive.
There are colours in this range which would suit many tastes. Some include Rose pareo, and coquillage rose and rouge mediterraneee(ideal for deep colour lovers)I find that bourjois lipsticks are very feminine in colours and packaging.-no nastys like black and blue shades!
I mustn't forget to mention that the lid has a mirror on it.I deal for touchups on the go!
Overall a great product .
Bourjois Lovely Brille is one of a range of "Lovely" lipsticks made by Bourjois. The "Brille" part of its name means "shine" and this is exactly what these lipsticks do. They are very glossy and light and give my lips a very pretty glow.
The lipstick tubes these come in are quite interesting to look at as they are different from most lipstick tubes. They are slightly hourglass shaped so they stand up extremely well on the bathroom shelf. They are a bright blue colour but the blue plastic is see-through so you can see the metallic tube of lipstick underneath. The top of the tube is a very shiny metallic silver and the words Bourjois Paris are written inside a silver circle on the side of the tube. The whole effect makes for a pretty addition to your makeup shelf and they do themselves proud standing next to more expensive products.
When you open the tube and go to apply the lipstick the first thing you notice about it is the scent. It is absolutely heavenly. It smells like those crumble sugar candies, parma violets, and is just delectable. I know it sounds strange but I like to take a big sniff of this lipstick just to inhale this perfume before I apply it - it actually satisfies my sugar cravings to some extent just to smell this.
This lipstick glides right on my lips and is very smooth and glossy for a lipstick. Based on this and on the fact that it is not advertised as long-wearing, I was expecting the colour to slide right off as glosses usually tend to do. However, I wore this lipstick on my most recent Saturday night pub crawl and even after drinking many drinks and snacking on all kinds of greasy junk food, when I got home and looked in the mirror this lipstick was actually still going strong. Amazing!
I was lucky enough to receive two full sized Bourjois Lovely Brille lipsticks by paying just the cost of postage. I found out about this offer from the moneysavingexpert.com forum for low-spend freebies, which is well worth checking out from time to time for offers such as this. However, I have seen these lipsticks in the chemist for around £7, and they are currently available online for just £1.99!
