Advantages: Colours do give you the smoky eyes.
Disadvantages: Shadows disintegrate.
I am generally a fan of Bourjois, I have used their foundation and nail varnish for many years and so have developed a brand loyalty with them. I wanted to branch out into their eye shadow range and, when Boots had a special offer on, bought two of their Smoky Eyes sets in green and brown.
The packaging, on first impressions, seems quite good and attractive, you can see what shades you're buying on the cosmetics shelf due to the see-through plastic exterior. Within the first couple of uses of the product though and the eye shadows began to break up. If, like me, you like to travel with your eye shadow (hence the entire point of the product - all your shadows in one place?) then they will break up and disintegrate. I no longer travel with them and instead have them in a stationary position on my make-up desk, using as short, stiff eye make-up brush to crush up the shadows further to use them effectively.
The eye shadow itself is easy enough to apply onto the eye lids, has staying power and, with the knowledge, you can make your eyes have the "smoky" look with the range of colours the trio comes in.
The full retail price of this from Boots is £7.99 which for 3 shadows does seem value for money but, given my bad experience with this product, I shall not be buying their eye shadows again and, I have to say, I am quite disappointed in Bourjois.
Summary: Disappointed with Bourjois for such a fragile product.
