      A lovely lip cream which cares for the lips

      For me finding little make up bargains is a real treat. It is always nice to find a product and buy it at quite a reduced rate. I of course have quite a vast make up collection but added to it seems to occur on a weekly basis with one or two items! This has now extended to my mini make up bag in my handbag! Once full of essential items such as painkillers, plasters it is now full of a wide range of lip glosses/jellies/balms etc.

      One of my latest additions comes in the form as Bourjois So Delicate Lip Cream. Bourjois happens to be one of the brands I like to buy from more for the nail polish and foundations but it is always nice to try one of their other products at a reduced price! I do have quite a few other lip products by Bourjois can find them to be a bit hit or miss but at over half price for the So Delicate Lip Cream I thought it was worth trying.

      == The Lip Cream ==

      Bourjois no longer produce the So Delicate Lip Cream but it is available via a lot of online make up shops. It's formula has been enriched with coconut oil which is known for it's moisturising properties and Bourjois claim it will keep your lips moisturised for up to 8 hours. The end result is a soft and colourful colour which has glided on smoothly giving your lips comfort with a velvety, matte finish.

      == Packaging ==

      The So Delicate Lip Cream comes in a rectangular plastic tube which is the colour of your chosen shade - you cannot see in the tube. It has a matching coloured top which is slightly curved in shape and this is where the foam applicator is attached to. On the front of the tube is the Bourjois logo together with the product name in lovely swirly writing together with an image of a pink ribbon spiralling down.

      == Rose Veloute ==

      The shade I chose was Rose Veloute. Of course being a discontinued product the shade selection is quite limited but I opted for Rose Veloute purely because I liked the deep pink shade which isn't a bright girly pink it is much more vintage almost like an antique rose type colour. Deep enough to give a lovely pink hue to it but much more sophisticated than a garish pink!

      == Using It ==

      The applicator is a foam tip which makes it easy to apply the creamy formula and I find that the consistency is a lot thicker than your average lip gloss or balm. It definitely has a creamy, velvety formula and unlike any other gloss or balm I have ever tried which is nice. It doesn't have an aroma or smell to it which is what I expected.

      I find that the lip cream glides on easily and you don't need to use a lot to get an even colour on your lips and it does feel quite moisturised when applying which ideal for me as I can get dry lips at the drop of a hat so using a product that can give my lips colour and keep them nourished is a definitely bonus for me.

      The finish it gives is a matt finish so if you like high gloss you'd be sorely disappointed. I guess to give your lips a sheen or gloss you could add a top coat of Vaseline or clear gloss but I quite like the matte finish, something a bit different. The colour does stay around for a good few hours before it does start to fade but it doesn't crease or run on your lips so you do just need to top it up.

      As for my lips being moisturised for up to 8 hours I can't honestly say my lips felt moisturised for this long but they did definitely feel looked after for a few hours before the colour started to fade. The lip cream is not sticky on the lips and if left to completely wear off you don't get a residue left on lips like some lip products.

      == Overall ==

      I really do like this lip cream, I love the shade I chose as it is a lovely winter colour without being too dark. The matte, velvet finish is lovely and a bit different to others whilst keeping my lips moisturised all at the same time. It is quick and easy to apply and can stay on for a good few hours without the need for re-application. For me, I quite like this little bargain and would happily buy another shade. A definite recommendation from me but can only give it 4 stars simply because it may prove hard to get hold of.
