Bourjois So Laque
Advantages: Ultra glossy nail colour, lasting power and colour range
*The Nail Varnish*
So Laque covers the nail with a coating of ultra shiny gloss colour. To get the same results elsewhere you would need to go to a beauticians to get UV Gel nail varnish applied. It's quick to apply and i absolutely love it.
The brush is long and covers the nail really well. I feel that the brush helps reduce the application time as you don't have to work with the 3 strokes rule. Simply brush on, apply a second coat if you want a deeper colour and apply a top coat.
The bottle has a slight hourglass shape and is made of thick glass, the lid is an acrylic colour and this is the colour that your nails will be if you apply the varnish. excellent grip.
Before you were supposed to apply three strokes of colour, one in the centre and one on each side of the nail. With Bourjois 1 seconde you no longer have to do this. Simply place the fan brush onto the nail and it fans out for wider nails and stays normal shaped for thinner nails. The nail colour goes on easily and quickly and I probably do agree with their 1 second nail application claim. It really is that quick, finish off with a coat of clear topcoat for longer lasting nail colour.
The colour takes around 90 seconds to dry; some nails can still be 'tacky' so I recommend leaving a full two minutes before doing anything.
I am a convert to bourjois and especially Bourjois 1 seconde. The results I get from using this alongside a clear top coat are equal to results I've had from gel nail varnish and the is better than the results I've had from Nail Inc., Chanel and OPI so the £5.49 price tag is an absolute bargain and that's why I've given it a 5 stars.
I was converted to Bourjois nail varnish after I tried Bourjois 1 seconde nail varnish. I am a big lover of colour that looks really shiny without glitter or metallic, sort of like a new cars lacquer paint job. (Strange I know) I can't bear colours that have glitter or shimmer or metallic tones to it so the Bourjois So Laque! Nail varnish was next on my Bourjois nail varnish journey.
Nail varnish can do two things, make your appearance look tidy and polished or make it look crumbled and messy, I would prefer to look polished and tidy but get so annoyed at nail varnish that chips after a day or two, especially when I've taken so long to apply it.
I love nail varnish more than make-up and have a relatively large collection. I have spent a lot of money on nail varnish's and brands such as OPI, Nails Inc. and China Glaze as these tend to chip and flake less than cheaper brands.
I had heard good things about Bourjois 1 seconde so decided to try it and due to the amazing quality and lasting power of this I decided to try the So Laque range. I purchased mine from boots and it cost £5.49. The bottle is sleek, it has an hour glass shape to it and the applicators lid shows what the colour will look like on. The shape of the bottle makes it really easy to hold while applying and the application itself it quick, leaving professional results every time
The range has every colour type from light pinks to reds and blacks. The colour collection doesn't have any glitter or shimmer colours (at the time of purchase) thankfully, although this made it extremely hard to choose just one colour. Eventually I chose 31 Bleu Violet. Bleu Violet is a really dark royal purple colour. I already had 06 Rose Vamp which believe it or not is a fuchsia pink and not 'vampy' at all.
TIP: I always do my nails before going in the bath, why do you ask? It's because nail varnish comes off easy when you're in water, if I get any nail varnish on the sides of my fingers or toes it comes off without any effort so when I get out of the bath I'm left with perfectly painted nails and toes.
Bourjois So Laque claims to last at least seven days and it does, it actually lasts as long as gel nail varnish and at one point it was still on my nails for over three weeks with only a top coat to protect it.
Definitely worth the money and I believe this is better than most of the expensive brands. I'm a Bourjois convert for sure.
