The price of a 10ml bottle of Bourjois Very Vernis nail enamel can vary greatly so make sure that you do a price check before you buy, I have seen the Bourjois nail enamel for as much as £3.50 and as little as £1.99 for the 10 ml bottle. Bourjois produce a large range of nail care products, one of their latest introductions has been the Bourjois One second application nail polish, apparently the polish dries in less than one minute, that is amazing. Nail polish that has been applied well looks good, I prefer to wear neutral colours during the day and reserve the more colourful polishes for days and evenings out. Pink is one of my favourite shades, Bourjois Rose Romantique is a beautiful shade of pale pink but Bourjois Rose Scarlett is a deeper richer pink that is good for evening wear. The darker shades are lovely but I find that it is sensible to wear a coat of clear base polish underneath the colour to stop it staining your fingernails. Bourjois have put the 10ml of nail polish into a thick clear glass bottle and the chunky cap is easy to grasp. The applicator brush is slightly different to the norm, instead of being a round brush it is flat and I find that makes the nail polish easier to apply. The flat brush makes it easy to get right into the edges of the nails without smearing the polish onto the skin. The Boujois nail polish is pretty thick but it is simple to apply, the finish is good and although you could stop at one coat I prefer to apply two coats to get a full effect. Bourjois have added calcium and Vitamin B5 to the nail polish, both of these help to make the nails stronger. The nail polish contains a fixing agent which helps to prevent chips. The nail polish has added silicone and this helps the polish to dry quicker. Bourjois Rose Scarlett is one of the stronger shades and although you could get away with applying just the one coat it does look better with two coats. Apply one coat and the colour looks slightly streaky if you look closely, apply two coats and there are no streaks. The Bourjois nail polish is not `gluey`, the polish flows freely from the applicator brush. Once the bottle has been opened you will need to make sure that you shake it well before you use it again but the polish does not appear to go gloopy or sticky. There are five colours and one transparent nail polish in this range. The Bourjois Rose Scarlett nail polish is like many stronger coloured polishes, it does tend to chip and once it is chipped it needs to be renewed. The strong colour is easy to remove as long as you use a reputable nail polish remover. Definitely one to consider if you love painted finger nails.
Bought for £1.50 in a make-up dump bin at Tesco a few weeks ago. For the price, I could not say no to such a brand name product. I think normally, this product is around £4.50+ depending where you shop. I purchased shade 22, Rose Scarlette. I love nail varnish, the pinker and brighter the better for me! This is by far, my most treasured and favorite varnish in the box and used constantly. You get 10ml in the bottle and it seems to last forever. I do not find the varnish too thick and can usually cover the area in three strokes. I always apply a clear base coat before any colored varnish to avoid staining and that is necessary with this shade of the collection. I made the mistake of forgetting the clear base coat one time and it seemed to tae forever to remove the colour stain left behind on my nails. The colour looks great after just one coat but I always apply two for a stronger and longer last look, then another top coat of clear to seal it. This sandwich of clear-colour-colour-clear works fantastic with this brand and I can usually get up to two weeks or more before needing a re-application (usually due to nail growth, not chipping) which is perfect for those summer holidays! (Though I have noticed that sandy beaches and salt water is an offender to even the priciest polishes!) The bottle does have a colour tab on the top of the bottle but do not let this fool you. I thought the varnish would dry to that colour, a slightly darker pink but it did not. It was brighter than the varnish that comes off the brush when it dried (which is great for toenails but can look a little brash on the fingernails). So try doing a little test with the colour before you decide where you are putting it! The varnish comes with a nice enough brush applicator that gives a nice, even coverage but I have noticed that the lid does tend to get stuck and stiff over time. Try removing some of the excess varnish around the rim with a little remover on a cotton bud, this seems to keep it loose.
