Advantages: colour

Disadvantages: few issues with the screw lid

Bought for £1.50 in a make-up dump bin at Tesco a few weeks ago. For the price, I could not say no to such a brand name product. I think normally, this product is around £4.50+ depending where you shop. I purchased shade 22, Rose Scarlette.

I love nail varnish, the pinker and brighter the better for me! This is by far, my most treasured and favorite varnish in the box and used constantly. You get 10ml in the bottle and it seems to last forever. I do not find the varnish too thick and can usually cover the area in three strokes. I always apply a clear base coat before any colored varnish to avoid staining and that is necessary with this shade of the collection.

I made the mistake of forgetting the clear base coat one time and it seemed to tae forever to remove the colour stain left behind on my nails. The colour looks great after just one coat but I always apply two for a stronger and longer last look, then another top coat of clear to seal it. This sandwich of clear-colour-colour-clear works fantastic with this brand and I can usually get up to two weeks or more before needing a re-application (usually due to nail growth, not chipping) which is perfect for those summer holidays! (Though I have noticed that sandy beaches and salt water is an offender to even the priciest polishes!)

The bottle does have a colour tab on the top of the bottle but do not let this fool you. I thought the varnish would dry to that colour, a slightly darker pink but it did not. It was brighter than the varnish that comes off the brush when it dried (which is great for toenails but can look a little brash on the fingernails). So try doing a little test with the colour before you decide where you are putting it!

The varnish comes with a nice enough brush applicator that gives a nice, even coverage but I have noticed that the lid does tend to get stuck and stiff over time. Try removing some of the excess varnish around the rim with a little remover on a cotton bud, this seems to keep it loose.

Summary: Pricey but worth it
