Ask any of my friends and they will tell you that I'm all about a strong eye make-up look; whether I'm going to the supermarket or going clubbing, I always wear eye-make up... and lots of it. Eyeliner, I think, is actually more important to me than mascara. I always wear black liquid eyeliner, creating little 'cat-eye' flicks. I'm not the kind of girl to work out which beauty products work for me and then stick with them forever so, naturally, having worn eyeliner for years, I've tried many different types from an abundance of different brands, from high-street to high-end. However, there is one beauty product that I imagine I'll be sticking with for a long time: Bourjois Liner Clubbing (though its name in Boots is 'Volume Clubbing Eye Liner'... rather confusing as to what its actual name is!). My shade of choice is 'Ultra Black'. I've tried 'Black Fever', as well, and I couldn't tell a difference (different shades of black? What the hay?); I just tend to buy 'Ultra Black' because that's the one they don't seem to stock 'Black Fever' in my local Boots store. I pay £6.99 for it in Boots -- if you shop around then you can probably find it for a cheaper price -- and I personally find it good value for money because I rate this product so highly. The 4ml bottle seems to last me a long time, and I religiously apply a few generous strokes (I like my eyeliner thick and bold) at least once a day. Here are the four main reasons why I think this eyeliner is a 5-star product: a) It stays put. It does the job. It doesn't flake off. You can get it wet (within reason) and it doesn't budge. I don't need to use any sort of primer beforehand. It sticks, and it sticks really well. On an average day, I apply it at 7.30am and I take it off at 11pm. I go out a lot and, trust me, this product lives up to its name of being a 'Clubbing' eyeliner; I've worn it loads of times on really messy nights out and my eyes have always looked excellent. b) It's cheap. For what you get, it really is cheap. Trust me. I've used liquid eyeliners from high end beauty brands (MAC, Chanel etc), and this £6.99 eyeliner is the best I've ever used. c) The colour is really vivid and strong. OK, so I've only ever tried two shades of black from the range, but I have to say that the colour is really strong. If you've ever tried a black eyeliner (like the Miss Sporty one I once had to buy when I was 16 because I couldn't afford anything else) that offers a really... weak shade of black, you'll know what I mean. d) It's really easy to apply. The brush, which boasts just the right sort of thickness, is great for a defined look. I have nothing but good things to say about this eyeliner, and I suppose all that's left for me to say is to go out and buy it NOW!
This eye liner costs around £6 for 4ml from Boots. I have had mine for months and it seems to last forever. I am thinking of buying a new one as I aware you are meant to only use make up for your eyes for a certain period but there is still a lot left in the bottle. I believe this is a reasonable price for an eye liner. It comes in different colours including blue, purple, brown and a range of blacks. I have only tried the Ultra Noir black colour but have been impressed. The eye liner features a really thin brush which is great for getting a precise straight line on your eye. If you want a small line or a thick line it is easy to do it with the brush as you can always go over what you have already applied and add more. If you don't have a steady hand or find eye liners quite hard to apply neatly like I did I would definitely give this a try. It also stays put on your eyes and lasts well throughout the day. The liner is also a good consistency, being not too thick or too thin.
£5.99 for 4ml. Look out for 3 for 2 offers at certain large chemists! I have tried a great many liquid eye liners in my time. And in my search for perfection have found many that: don't stay on/are hard to apply/too expensive/too watery. So bring on the next contender: Bourjous Liner Clubbing. I went for a classic black: Noir Intense, as its great for day or night. In terms of packaging, it looks much like many other black eye liners (I don't think you can be too creative with them!!) but the label is attractive with gold and silver writing. Its also quite a small package so can easily fit in the smallest of clutch bags. I found the product really easy to apply as the brush is very very thin, this makes it easy to control exactly where the product is going and layer it up to the thickness that you would like. It dries quite quickly which is great- the last thing you want is to be hanging around waiting while a product dries. In terms of colour, intense black really is intense, this is exactly what I was looking for and I haven't found such a great black liquid liner in any other brand that I have tried. This eyeliner stayed put all night, it didn't smudge or crease which meant I didn't have to top it up (even though I was in a very hot nightclub and expected some of it to come off). Equally, this made it quite hard to remove at the end of the night as I had to use quite a lot of eye make-up remover to get it off. I really would recommend this eyeliner to anyone- several of my friends are now converted after I have told them how great it is. Its a fabulous all rounder.
One of the best liquid eyeliners I have tried. And believe me, when you work on a make up aisle and there are no customers... what else do you do?! WARNING! this eyeliner is only for hardcore fans! ] The colours are beautiful, and very flattering. You can plump for basic black or go exotic with my favourites, turquoise or purple. Each of the colours (e.g not black) has tiny shimmering particles that really uplift the colour and give your liner another dimension. They are semi- easy to apply, but might not be ideal for anyone who struggles with liquid eyeliner. The applicator is a thin brush, which allows for better precision than a felt tip, but is harder to use. You need a steady hand! Once mastered, the effect is worthwhile. Your eyes really pop, and the liner itself lasts and lasts. You won't need to reapply that day. My only issue is that sometimes, even after removal you can still see a hint of blue... My best tip is to apply them over powder (even translucent) rather than straight on skin. This way they will come right off with your remover.
I own Bourjois Clubbing Liquid Liner in the shade, Intense Black. I'm not sure it's any blacker than other liquid liners, but it does create the dramatic effect it claims to. The packaging is cute and dinky, perfectly handbag sized. As I have come to expect from Bourjois packaging, it looks very sophisticated. The applicator is quite long, which is important when you are applying liner with your eye half closed, as you can still see what you are doing with your other eye! The lid is easy to grip so you can balance your hand, as we all know how delicate the process of applying liquid liner is. For a first time user of liquid liner, I thought it was tricky to apply, and very easy to make a complete mess of. But as long as you keep a supply of cleanser and cotton buds nearby, it gets easier with practise. I think this product is pretty good for a fair price.
I brought this eye liner about a year ago when I got fed up of waiting for the no7 liquid eyeliners to dry, so wanted to try another brand to see if they were any better. I brought this product soon after it was released, making it a new unknown product. The product comes in 6 colours: black noir, brun prune, bleu canard, violet issisi, ultra black and black fever. Don't worry I was slightly puzzled by the many shades of black, but the ones I love are the colour ones as they are so bright and beautiful shades. The product comes in a thin cylinder, about 1cm in diameter. The colour of the cylinder reflects the colour of the liquid eye liner itself. The lid is a screw top, with a very fine, supple brush attached making it easy to apply thin detailed and precise lines. The lid is long and is easy to hold. It is very easy to produce a line of the liquid eyeliner in one smooth stroke. The product itself is a good consistency that is easy to apply without it running. Each of the colours are bright, stunning colours that have a slight metallic appearance. I many use it on the top of my eyelid, just above the eyelashes to produce a thin, bright line of colour that is perfect for clubbing. The reason I love this eyeliner is how quickly it dries, in about 30seconds, preventing it from smudging or being imprinted above your eyes. As it dries so quickly it does not feel sticky, and as the consistence is good it does not feel uncomfortably. It lasts all night, through rain and sweat. I have even gone to bed with it on and it is still there in the morning. The only way to remove it is with facial wipes as it leaves a imprint of colour on your eyelids that needs more than water to remove. The product is available in Boots and Super Drug for £5.99. I consider this a great price and I highly recommend the product.
On the look out for a new brown eyeliner... Something preferably waterproof. I'd never heard of this before but I was in a bit of rush, so took the plunge. It cost me around £8 from Boots, Nottingham. The colour of it is called 84 Brown Vibes. It comes in a tube around 4inches high, with half as the lid and the other half the actual product. It's a metallic brown colour with a bit of black 'decoration' on the bottom. You get 4ml of product. I has a very fine brush which i particularly like, as it's easy to control and create a nice even line. The colour is a shiny, medium brown. I wasn't expecting it to be shiny and thought it would be too much for daytime use. However I was pleasantly surprised and the shiny-ness really makes your eyes pop! Application; Easy :) Good for thin lines, thick lines, flicky lines.... Drying Time; Very quick! I've had eyeliners in the past where I've had to spent about 5 minutes being blind.. Lasting Power; I'd say above average - but if you rub yours eyes slightly it does begin to come off. Colour; Surprisingly nice. Cost; Maybe slightly too much, in comparison to a Rimmel one I own, which is just the same if not better.
I bought this item from Boots when it first came out! I bought the black one as that is the one is use on my upper eyelid when I go out at night! It gives a great effect and stays on all night and still looks good at the end of the day! It is very black on and that was just what I was looking for, it doesn't seem to flake off either! There are other colours available but I have not yet tried any of them as I tend to use black as I use black mascara and it goes well! The container is cylinder shape and is fairly small and says volume clubbing on the front (similar to the mascara - I have also reviewed the mascara), it has a small application wand with a very thin brush at the bottom to apply the liquid with - this provides a nice amount on the top of your lid and if you want to increase the thickness of your eyeliner look then you can just add more! I tend to find that past liquid eyeliners I have used sometimes sting my eyelids/eyes and make my eyes water all night long but this thankfully does not and another good reason why I stick to using it. The eyeliner can usually be purchased from Boots or Superdrug or online retailers. I thoroughly recommend it as it looks stunning on and is easy to remove and lasts all day!
I wanted a liquid eyeliner which I could put on and not have to worry about smudging by the end of the night, and I love this liquid eyeliner. As far as price goes, I think it goes for about £6 but I'm unsure as mine was a gift Also, I have seen that this comes in a selection of different colours, I can only comment on my '83 Electro Blue' though, as this is the only one I have used. To look at, the screw top lid is quite large in comparison to the rest of the bottle, this is great as it means you're not holding on for dear life to the end of an eyeliner while trying to apply it. I got mine in blue, so the lid has a slight sparkle to it which is good, and attractive metallic looking writing on it. On the front it states; "vibrant colour, ultra resistance". Well I can tell you I've been crying, rubbing my face & being rained on with this eyeliner on and it is very true, my eyeliner hardly budged a bit. To be perfectly honest with you, I am the most useless person at applying liquid eyeliner, no matter how easy they try to make it for you. However, the brush on this eyeliner doesn't look the easiest, but I can use it without having to wipe too much away (compared to my other liquid eyeliner - what a nightmare) which is a great bonus on saving it. I've had my eyeliner now for about a year, and I've still got the original. I use mine about 5/6 times a month, which is pretty good considering the price and quality that you get. The only advice I can really give you though is to check out the brush before you buy it, some people may not get on with it as it IS small.
I tried this product when it first came out about a year ago as it was on a special introductory offer. It has lots of colours in its range including a black and blue one, the colour I tried was a purple one. It comes in a round container with a purple and silver metallic finish and has clubbing eyeliner written in black on the front. This is a really nice product design it is very eyecatching and bright. It has a screw top lid and the applicator is inside the lid, it is put on by a brush. The brush is quite thin so it is really useful for doing thin strokes or thicker ones. It is a very soft brush usually I prefer hard ones as I think they make it easier to draw a straight line but this works well nonetheless. It is comfortable to hold in your hand as the lid is quite long. The product itself is very bright and has a sort of metallic finish to it. It is a dark purple colour and you can really notice it when it is on your eyes. You can also use it to cover the whole of your eye like a liquid eyeshadow. It goes on smoothly and in one motion if you have enough on your brush, this helps to make it neater than trying to join up to lines. It doesn't take very long for it to dry and when it does it doesn't smudge or flake off. It lasts all night even if it rains or it is really hot when you are out. When you are wearing it, it feels comfortable on your skin and doesn't sting your eyelids like some liquid eyeliners can. So it is good if you have sensitive skin. When you come to take it off it cames off easily using normal make up remover. If you do fall asleep in it as I have it stays in place so you won't wake up with panda eyes which is good. I would highly recommend this it looks really nice one and it lasts all night. It is available from Boots and Superdrug for about £6
