This is a review of the Burberry lipstick I received in a beauty box recently. It was a special edition box where all the contents (usually sample size) were available to buy in Harrods so the high end beauty contents were very exciting to receive and try out. Colour I received the colour 'Rosewood, no 4' in the Burberry Lip colour which was a lovely neutral shade and I knew just looking at it that it was a colour I would enjoy wearing. Packaging I received a generous sized sample of this lipstick but the best thing about it was that it was a perfect miniature version of the full sized product. It came boxed in the Burberry branded packaging (a cardboard box) and then the usual lipstick tube which is all mirrored and patterned in Burberry. The actual lipstick is textured like the Burberry brand pattern, I hope you can see this on the picture. How special! In use This is a moisturising lipstick achieved through oils and light waxes which make it easy to apply and comfortable to wear. The colour is quite intense and staying power is very good with this lipstick. The product also contains anti ageing ceramides to help create fuller lips and uv filters help protect against the environment. My thoughts This lipstick feels really soft on the lips and is not tacky at all. It really helps condition my lips and I am really happy with the colour I got in the beauty box. The packaging is super too with a mirrored casing and detail etched onto the actual lipstick. I know that there is a bit of a chav association with the Burberry brand but I actually love it and have a denim jacket with the Burberry lining on the collar and cuffs, it's very classy! Price and availability A full size lipstick is 3.8g and this is priced at £23 in Harrods. A few of the sample sizes are knocking about on ebay so if you were fancying a cute handbag or purse sized lipstick I can recommend the colour Rosewood. Final word I would have to be feeling very flush to part with the money for a full sized version but then again, you can spend £23 easily in the quest to find the perfect lipstick (and still not have found it!). This is one of those items that you will be reaching for again and again and will be proud to perk up your pout in public with! Just look out for friends who are lipstick thieves and 'borrowers' on boozy nights out as this would be a piece of makeup that you'd not want to lose.
