~ Why I Bought It ~
I quite like the Burt's Bee's lip balms and think that they're really moisturising and good quality, so when I saw that there was also a lip gloss available I decided to buy it. I have had it for around six months now and it is the lip gloss that I use the most regularly.
~ Price ~
The retail price for this lip gloss is around £8 which I think is a little over the top for a lip gloss! I bought mine from eBay (brand new might I add!) and I paid around £2 if I remember correctly. Even though I do like this lip balm I definitely wouldn't pay the full retail price as I think that £8 is completely over the top.
~ My Opinion ~
Considering the retail price of this it is surprisingly basic looking and it doesn't really stand out from any of my other lip glosses other than the tube being a slightly little larger and longer than most of my others. The tube contains 14 grams of product and it is transparent meaning that the lip gloss can be seen through it.
The lip gloss is available in several different shades which include pink, red and nude to name a few and I have the red one. It is very well pigmented and it looks completely opaque in the tube. On my lips it is no where near as bright as I was expecting, it just gives my lips a nice natural looking red tinge which is subtle but it looks nice and makes my lips look nice and healthy.
I love the shiny, slightly wet look that it gives my lips as it makes them look big, plump and really moisturised and it makes them feel moisturised too as well as really soft and smooth. I love that although it is shiny it is not really glittery and cheap looking. The lip gloss is quite thick but it isn't too sticky or greasy or anything and it never gloops up unless I apply too much.
The design of the tube means that it's hard to apply too much though as the end has a small dispenser hole. The end is also slanted which I like as it makes it easier to apply the lip gloss evenly and I don't need to use my fingers to spread it over my lips.
The lip gloss leaves my lips looking and feeling moisturised for a couple of hours and the colour stays for a little longer but I do need to re apply it several times a day and it doesn't last too long if I apply it and then eat or drink something. I have noticed though that it does stay in place when I give my son a kiss on the cheek or kiss my fiancé and surprisingly it doesn't transfer onto them which is obviously good!
The smell of the lip gloss is quite nice but a little too strong for my liking. It smells quite sweet and it has an orange sort of smell to or which is nice enough but a bit too sweet. The ingredients are all natural which I think is why it is quite expensive. Amongst the ingredients there are several different oils which is what makes the gloss so moisturising and softening.
~ All in All ~
A nice lip gloss but a little expensive. It smells a bit too strong for my liking but it is moisturising and makes my lips look plump and glossy and the colour is a nice shade. I am going to give the product five out of five stars and I recommend it.

Burt's bees super Shiny Natural Lip Gloss
I am a big fan of natural cosmetics and Burt's Bees is a Natural Lip Gloss has become one of my favourite Lip Gloss at the moment and for many good reasons as you will see in this review.
The Lip-gloss presentation:
The Lip Gloss comes in a generous long lasting 14grames plastic tube, with the Burt's Bees logo, that is partially transparent where you can catch a good glimpse of the colour, that is very useful when you are buying the products from shops like boots;
The plastic tube has a screw type of top that easily opens.
The product come in four beautiful shades: Pucker Berry, Sweet Pink, Zesty Red and Nectar Nude
Is a mixture of all natural oils, wax, flavours and colorants. This makes it a pleasure to use on your lips. Not being intoxicate with cancer causing chemicals is pure bliss.
When you first apply it you get straight away the citrus smell. It smell to me like one of those mini yellow lemon tarts. It does not taste of anything though.
My ultimate favourite is the Zesty Red colour. Is a beautiful dark red in the tube, on the lips is less intense then in the tube. I find it stains the lips with the right amount of colour to give that beautiful, natural and young lips. It catches the light slightly but is not extremely shiny or sparkly way, more like a bit pearly.
Used in cold weather or simply when you have dry lips this is the ultimate indulgence. It just sinks into the lips perfectly and makes them feel nourished, plump and youthful. You can apply as often as you need though it last pretty long time. Even after it all got absorbed into the lips you are still left with pretty well hydrated pout.
Well if you don't like lemon/ orange tart you are pretty much doomed.
Chemically filled lip glosses that are found every ware on the market I find they last all day long. However with natural lip glosses I find that they are half efficient but that is not a bad thing at all: it simply means that the natural oils have been absorbed by the lips and gave you the needed moisturising support.
The long term use of natural products pays off as you are left with beautiful lips, think of it as an investment for your beauty when you are older, you are definitely not going to regret this!
This wonderful company is well known for its natural products that are made with natural beeswax, if you hate chemicals in cosmetics as I do and wish to find good quality alternatives I highly recommend you take a look at their website.
I really do not like this cold weather, my skin doesn't think much to it either. My lips always suffer when the weather turns from warm to cold to even colder and I am usually running for the nearest lip balm I can find from within my growing collection to ensure my lips stay quite moisturised and smooth.
I have said before that I am fussy about which type of lip balm I use because a past experience left me with awful chapped lips after the promise of smooth and supple lips. However after using Burt's Bees Replenishing Pomegranate Lip Balm and quickly running out I was left with my last Burt's Bees product which is a Super Shiny Natural Lip Gloss to give it its full title. When it comes to lip care Burt's Bee's does have a wide and varied range of products to choose from which suit most lip complaints such as sore, chapped lips, lip gloss, lip balms and medicated lip balms.
This Super Shiny Lip Gloss itself is the same size as your high street brands and contains 5g the product and it is shaped very similar to the Carmex tubes of lip balm that you can buy. The one main difference is the price tag which accompanies the product, where as many of the high street brands retail for anything form 99p to £3 this particular one retails for £8.45 which is a lot more expensive than most people, including myself would usually pay for a lip gloss from Boots or somewhere similar. However, I decided I would give it a try. There are four different colours to choose from which are called Pucker Berry, Sweet Pink, Zesty Red and Nectar Nude. I have Zesty red which is a deep vivid red looking colour and is a really lovely.
My first initial reaction when removing the screw off lid and slightly squeezing the lip gloss for it to appear is that the colour was so bright and vivid I imagined I would look like an 80's throwback with the bright red lipstick and bright blue eye-shadow, but even if I did once it was applied it smelled so good that I could happily have eaten it there and then. To look at the lip gloss it is as I've said a bright red colour and when it was applied to my lips it actually didn't them the colour of the gloss, there was a hint of colour but it wasn't a bright trashy red colour, instead it was slightly red but very very glossy and shiny. There was definitely evidence of there being a gloss on my lips and the shine it produced is better than any of the other lip glosses that I have ever tried.
Within this lip gloss because it is sold as being a hydrating gloss it comes with an array of ingredients which have been chosen to help improve the state of your lips and the two main ones for me are Sweet Almond Oil that is a non-greasy oil which is easily absorbed into the skin leaving it soft and smooth to the touch. Sweet Almond Oil is also rich in Vitamins which again helps the skin stay nourished and again it works well with pomegranate oil to protect the skin. Castor seed oil is also listed and Castor Oil acts like a disinfectant and helps keeps infections and bacteria at bay, in this weather it is especially useful. Listed on the back of the cardboard packaging are the rest of the ingredients.
The change in weather always irritates me skin and lips and I need to use certain products on certain areas to help keep my skin in the best possible condition and this lip balm is absolutely brilliant on my lips. Whilst I never let them get into a really bad state of being sore and chapped, I do notice if I haven't applied any lip gloss for at least one day and whilst I also drink a lot of water to keep my lips and skin nourished and fed to keep it looking at its possible best, you can never be without a little something extra and for me this lip gloss does a really good job doing just that. As I have said it is easy to apply and is non-greasy, but because it is a gloss it can be quite sticky if you over apply it. This gloss can also be used on its own or as an extra coating to any lipstick you might apply, if used in this way it adds a shine to your lips giving it that wet-look affect. On average if I was to purchase a lip gloss like this one, the tube would last me a maximum of two weeks maximum if I really liked it but using this Burt's Bee's version I have been using it for almost a month now and I am almost coming to the end of the tube, so for me it is a worthwhile purchase.
If you are looking for a new lip gloss then I cannot recommend this one highly enough, it is easy to use, smells wonderful, moisturises and nourishes the lips and it even tastes slightly nice but that isn't something I would recommend doing because licking your lips only adds to the dryness but using this lip balm helps keeps my lips super soft and smooth. The only thing which I suspect would put me off is the price tag, but it is worth it, I can assure you.
