“ Brand: Chanel / Type: Foundation „
I first received this foundation as a sample from House of Fraser when buying some perfume from there. I was very impressed with the sample, as even though it was a sample, the little bottle was made of glass and had the recognisable Chanel logo on the lid, and there was a little application brush attached to the lid which gave a nice coverage. Even though what they were giving me was a tiny sample, they still matched the colour to my skin, as I've found that other samples are simply a sort of 'pot luck' and you have to hope that it matches. They were very professional and gave me lots of info on the foundation, and I was already impressed. I was so impressed with the quality of it, that after my sample ran out I ran straight to the store to buy the full sized bottle at House of Fraser for around £36.00. The bottle itself is very nicely designed. It is very slick and sexy, and you would know it was Chanel from a mile off. 'Pro lumiere' is written on the front in big black letters, 'professional finish make up' written in smaller letters with the French translation above. It is SPF 15 which is good as you can wear it without sun cream. The classic CHANEL logo is written near the bottom of the bottle. The bottle glass has a matte finish and the lid is shiny black. The foundation itself works like an absolute dream. The first thing you notice, is that it smells amazing! I've never known a foundation to smell nice, or smell at all so this was a really nice touch, and you feel great knowing that your face smells good too! The foundation is best applied with a foundation brush for that perfect make up artist airbrushed look. Apply to the face and then brush downwards to achieve the best look. You really do look flawless. I have a rather pale face, and when it gets hot I go very red, so having a foundation that covers that is essential for me. This is the best I've used. My skin looks like porcelain and any imperfections I have are virtually gone! I really love this product, but I have found it is very expensive compared to normal foundations which I will usually pay around £20-£25 for. I usually go for Rituals foundation, but after trying out that sample I was hooked. It hasn't run out yet so I can't say whether or not it runs out quickly, and you can't really tell when it's going to run out because the bottle has a finish that means you cannot see the liquid. However, other than that it is a really is the best foundation I have ever used, and I would probably buy it again depending on whether or not it runs out quickly and if it's worth buying another one as it is rather pricey. It works like a dream, makes me look like a china doll, seriously amazing!
I wanted a new foundation for Christmas in 2008 and was shopping in Debenhams at the time. I was enticed to the Chanel counter as I already have lipstick and a couple of other products made by them. One of the assistant had asked to help so I explained that I had wanted something that was natural looking and not too thick as a base for my makeup. The assistant tested out this product on my skin after matching the shade with my skin tone. I was surprised how natural it did look and how moisturised my skin felt. I was also drawn to this product because of the sun protection factor of 15 and because I of my experience with Chanel makeup, I know that you really get quality for what you pay, so I decided to treat myself to it. I have wasted a lot of money on far cheaper brands, only to throw it away because it is the wrong colour or feels suffocating on my skin. If I add up all the wrong foundations I have bought in the past, it easily amounts to more money that this premium product. I found the Chanel foundation to have a light to medium coverage and it blends in very easily with a small amount on your fingertips. After wearing it to my works Xmas party and on other occasions since then, I have noted that the foundation gives you a glowing flawless complexion without looking shiny. The foundation does not rub off on your clothes and stays put all evening. I would thoroughly recommend this foundation to anyone.
For years I have wasted money on cheap foundations which run out quickly and cause havoc with my combination skin but I've been very reluctant to spend any more money. I recently went on holiday with a group of friends and ended up borrowing someones Pro Lumiere foundation after getting some rather unsightly sunburn on my face! I applied a light layer and immediately my skin tone evened out and I had a flawless finish. I was so pleased with the result I decided to treat myself at the airport with my leftover money. Three and a half months later I still love my foundation! I have been using the foundation every day and my skin is noticeably clearer. It is not at all oily and provides a very light coverage so you don't feel 'caked' in make up. I just squirt a small amount into my hand and blend it in with my fingers. I don't feel the need to use a brush or anything like that. The best thing about this foundation is that you can't see that you have it on. It provides a matte natural finish and although it evens out your skin tone it doesn't cover everything up. I have lots of freckles during the summer and you can still see them. At the same time it really reduces redness so spots become less noticeable. If I am having a particularly bad skin day I use cover up as well, but very rarely. (the cover up I use is MAC studio concealer which is FANTASTIC!). I also find that if I apply it first thing in the morning it lasts all day. As well as saving money this is also an advantage as you don't have to lug it around in your handbag! I bought the foundation three and a half months ago and I still seem to have lots left! I think it will probably last me about 5 months which works out at 6 pounds a month. That's about what I was having to spend before on my cheap make up which ruined my skin! This is definitely the best foundation I've come across and I highly recommend it. It is very important to invest in you skin
Chanel Pro Lumier Foundation with SPF 15. This is my every day foundation because since I discovered it I didn't want anything else. I wanted a new liquid foundation for my wedding in 2008 so I decided to get something a little more luxurious and treat myself to some decent makeup. I have been a fan ever since! Ok, so it costs £31 for 30ml but it's worth it. How many times have you thrown away a foundation because it's the wrong colour? With premium makeup brands you can go to the counter and get the right product. The foundation is a medium coverage and comes in 7 shades. It blends very easily and can be built up for more coverage. It stays put all day without going shiny. It gives a flawless finish, covering blemishes and giving your skin a glowing radiance. You can apply with a sponge, brush or fingers which is my preference. Lasts ages as you don't need to apply loads. Also added benefit of having SPF 15 so your skin is protected. I would thoroughly recommend this foundation to anyone.
I have purchased a few Chanel foundations in the past and have been impressed so i thought i would try their latest foundation when it came out, which was this one. It offers a medium to full coverage. When applied it blends in easily and sinks into my skin. It has quite a creamy texture and gives a natural lightweight finish. I have some blemishes which this foundation covers reasonably well. It also gives a little bit of a dewy look to your skin so it isn't completely matte. This may not be suitable for those who want full coverage or those who have oily skin as it could make skin look greasy, but for those who want skin to look natural whilst still covering imperfections then this foundation is for you. One thing i would say is this foundation as with most Chanel foundations has a bit of a sweet fragrance. This might irritate sensitive skins. The bottle comes with a pump attached which means foundation comes out sparingly and easily. However at £30 a bottle, it is very expensive.
Having only used MAC foundations for several years, I was hesitant to try any other brands, but upon the recommendation of pixiwoo on YouTube I decided to bite the bullet and purchased Chanel Pro Lumiere foundation. I went to my local Chanel counter in Fenwick, Tunbridge Wells and the artist was extremely helpful. She matched me to the shade 10 Limpide, which is the lightest they have and applied it to my face. I knew I wanted it before I sat in the chair so I paid little attention to how it looked on my face at the time! I was also dazzled by their Christmas collection as I first purchased the foundation in November! The price of the foundation is very high at £30 for 30ml, and I think this would put a lot of people off. However, I have to say I do think it is worth it and the quality is reflected in the packaging (sturdy glass bottle and a pump, which a lot of make up brands do not offer as standard). The pump is extremely useful, and it lets out quite a lot of the product each time (though I still feel I need two pumps to cover my whole face). The foundation is extremely easy to work with as it is thick and creamy, making it easy to blend and offering a medium to full coverage but it is not heavy at all and feels very light and natural on the skin. The finish is what really does it for me, to put it simply: this foundation gives me flawless skin. When applied to your face, the foundation evens your skintone, hides any redness or blemishes, and almost mattes the face as well as leaving it with a beautiful dewy, sheen. This foundation is not for someone who wants a full coverage, matte foundation but it is perfect for those who want to cover everything that needs to be covered, while still giving your skin room to breathe! All in all, I completely recommend this foundation! It's easy to apply, gives a beautiful finish that is perfect for the spring make up trend of dewy, radiant skin. Don't let the price put you off, if you are willing to spend money on high end make up your foundation should be a priority - give this a try!!
After using Chanel Teint Innocence for just over a year I decided to kick the habit and try something new. Although I really love the Chanel Teint innocence and looked great in the first few hours of wearing it, my combination skin always seemed to ruin the way it looked after a good few hours because my t zone always gets oily. I did a bit of research on foundations Chanel offers for people with the same kind of skin problem I have and I came across the Chanel Pro Lumiere Foundation which a lot of people with oily skin had praised on numerous websites. So I purchased the Chanel Pro Lumiere Foundation from boots it was about £30 which is a few pounds extra than the Chanel teint innocence but I was desperate to solve my oily skin problem once and for all! The shade I chose was 40 Beige which is definitely suited for people with a medium skin colour. This foundation was too light for me though when I had been on holiday because I go very dark in the sun but now after a few months of using it is just a bit darker than my natural skin tone so I use fake tan on the skin that people can see so it doesn't look ridiculous. The foundation is a medium coverage foundation and goes on matte rather than the teint innocence which gave a very dewy look and felt very moisturising. At first I really adored the foundation and I could tell instantly it was going to work. The down side to this foundation however, is the smell. I really don't like fragranced foundations and as soon as you take the lid of the foundation you can sense a light perfumed smell. The smell isn't a foul smell it is a very feminine odour but I prefer my foundations to be fragrance free. The foundation comes in a rectangle frosted bottle with a black lid. If you haven't used Chanel foundations before you may be fooled into believing you will be aware when the foundation is running out because it is in a glass bottle. However, this isn't the case with Chanel foundation bottles because the foundation sticks to the inside of the bottle which makes it tricky to know when you need to purchase more. The foundation gives a fairly good coverage and definitely removes any shine from the skin which to me is an important aspect of a foundation although I don't mind a little bit of a glow which I didn't get with this foundation unfortunately. A major problem I found with this foundation was the fact you have to use a lot in comparison to my Chanel teint innocence. I have to squirt the foundation on my brush several times in order to cover the whole of my face where as with the chanel teint innocence two fairly small blobs would cover my face without any problem mainly due to the fact the liquid is very creamy compared to the Chanel Pro Lumiere Foundation which is a slightly finer consistency. After a few uses of this foundation I noticed that this foundation is almost impossible for me to wear when I am hung-over because when I have dryish skin it really highlights the dry patches because of how matte it is. If you use a foundation that gives a dewier look it covers the dry patches more and makes it less noticeable. Advantages The foundation does do what it claims to do; it makes skin look more matte in comparison to most foundations. It has great durability Disadvantages Price Can't see when it is going to run out Shows up dry skin Fragrance Overall, I wouldn't personally buy this foundation again and I will definitely be sticking to my Chanel Teint Innocence foundation as it is a lot more suitable for my skin type. However, it is a good foundation and you can tell when you have applied the foundation that it is from a good brand as it doesn't look cakey.
Being a big make up fan I have always enjoyed testing different brands and different products. When I was younger I would test most of the cheaper lesser known products and slowly my trials seemed to get more expensive. A couple of months ago I was browsing through Boots looking for a new foundation. I came across the Chanel counter by accident really, having never used any Chanel make up items before. The helpful and friendly Chanel worker offered to help me find the correc colour that suited my skin tone. The reasonably priced £13.00 foundation came in a black Chanel box with the trademark Chanel white writting on the side. I found that this foundation gave fantastic coverage (even when only a small amount was used) Although I did like this product I have now found a better foundation for better coverage. I would however recommend this great product.
