Before we start let me just tell you that I am a bit of a makeup fanatic. Im one of those people who will not even go out and get the milk unless ive got my face on. My favourite job ever was when I was in uni and worked on a makeup and perfume counter. Didn't earn much though, because I would spend all my wages on the products!!!
A few months ago I Treated myself to a chanel rouge allure lipstick and it is so gorgeous that I just wanted to share my experience .

The packaging
The packaging is sleek and black. I think it oozes sophistication and class. It has a gold base with the cc logo which you click and pull in order for the lipstick to come out. I always feel really special and proud when I pull this out of my bag when im on a night out with girlfriends as I think it shows ive gone that extra mile with my makeup products. The best bit for me was that on the bottom of the actual lipstick chanel was etched in to the lipstick itself. I thought it that presentation wise this just went that little bit further and made me feel I had purchased a classy item.

the lipstick.
There are about 50 different shades in the rouge allure lipsticks, which I feel will cater for everyones tastes. from subtle to sublime!! . Because I am very dark I like to use a very bright lipstick and therefore chose no 3 which is called provocative. (oh I say!!) I would describe the colour as a hot pink. It is great for a night out as it is very striking. I have sometimes worn it in the daytime too and I think it just glam's up any outfit. The texture on my lips was very glossy and as for staying power I would give it about an 8 out of ten. you may need to reapply a couple of times through out the day as it is a bit lame when it comes to staying on after drinks.
There is no smell what so ever with this lipstick. I find the smell on some lipsticks far too strong so the fact that this had no scent at all was an added bonus to me. It also doesn't taste at all so when you lick your lips your not left with a mouth full of perfume.

The cost
I paid about 18 pounds for this lipstick. Which may seem like quite a lot but it is definitely the nicest lipstick I have ever owned. It is bright, vibrant and glossy and makes me feel good. and I just feel like its a little treat to me for a change instead of spending it as I always do on the kids. It states on the lipstick that it can be used for up to 18 months after opening so if you are buying it just to use for special occasions then you should bear this in mind.

In conclusion
If you have a large budget I would recommend that you start using this lipstick everyday and try loads of the colours because they are glossy and more intense than any other lippy ive used. If however you like me on a tighter budget I would say go on just buy one and you will love it. It is a great way of boosting your self esteem and making you feel worth it. If however you cannot justify forking out that much money for a lippie put it on your Christmas list you will not be disappointed!!
