This product is fabulous. It gives a gorgeous sunkissed look to the face. It is easy to apply and blends very nicely into the skin. The packing is very sleek and has a simple screw off lid which is easy to remove and put on again
Pricey but so worth it. I always wanted to buy a decent piece of make-up and found it right here. This was recommended to me buy a friend after she told me about it and couldn't help but get my hands on one. It's true what they say you get what you pay for. I've always been devious on paying so much for make-up but the minimum of the product that you have to use for it to work wonders is great. I totally wasn't convinced when my friend said it gives full coverage on spots and blemishes and gives you a healthy glow but when she actually applied this to show me I was quite gob smacked. Few days later I went and bought one myself and have never regretted paying this amount. I don't use this as an everyday product as its not a product I would use to wear during the day for work but for a night out is perfect. I would highly recommend this product and would believe other people would be quite shocked at how good this product actually is.
It was payday and I was feeling rather flush (these were very different times!) and frivolous. It was in this state of mind that I visited the Chanel beauty counter - dangerous. I wasn't looking for anything in particular but as I was running out of bronzer I decided to be "practical" and see what Chanel had to offer. All the bronzers I tried were either too dark or too orange but then I came across this product - Soleil Tan de Chanel - a crème rather than the standard powders I was considering. It was a rather impulsive buy as normally I research all my purchases (!) so I rushed home to see if it would deliver a natural healthy glow.
It comes in a rather large circular container with a black glossy lid which is emblazoned with the iconic Chanel logo. The packaging is very luxurious and I reasoned that even if it didn't work for me at least it would look nice on my dressing table! However, it is really not travel or purse friendly due to its size.
Chanel describes this as a "bronzing make up base" and it is meant to add healthy colour and definition to the face. It comes in one standard shade - what I would describe as muted terracotta. It does lean towards the orange side when swatched on the hand and has a slight iridescence - you do have to look really closely to pick up on this as it is very, very slight. What makes this product different is the cream gel consistency. It is a rather dense product but it goes on really evenly and is perfect for blending out to a seamless finish.
You can either wear this product alone, underneath your foundation or on top of it. I tend to use it on top of my foundation and I apply it where the face casts its natural shadows - the hollows underneath cheekbones, along the jawline, eye socket crease, temples and very gently along the nose.
I was very worried that this product would be too orange for my very pale skin. However, this is not how it appears on the face - it gives my face the right kind of colour whilst helping to define and sculpt my features. If you are a little heavy handed then you can easily blend it away to natural finish which makes this product very easy to use. The great thing about this product is that it allows you to get a healthy radiance without having to sit out in the sun all day and get wrinkles! I truly believe that when it comes to the sun and getting a tan you should always fake it! This product makes that possible without having to self-tan every time you want a little colour!

You can purchase this from a Chanel counter for £31. This is a lot of money but you are also getting 30g worth of product. I have had this product for around 10 months and I use it around 5 times a week and I have barely made a dent in it. I do not think I will be able to finish this product within the 18 month expiry date!
This product was ahead of its time as there were no crème bronzers on the market at the time of its release. However, now Bourjois and other drugstore brands are releasing similar products this and perhaps these would be a better option if you want to try out an alternative. Even though I am happy with the results I am not blown away by them therefore, I do not think I will repurchase this product. I think this would be a lovely present for a make-up enthusiast. I also think that it would be stunning on olive skins as you could use it instead of foundation to add definition on days where you don't want to commit to a full face of make-up.
