I normally buy Boots No 7 foundation, but the lack of sunshine has left my complexion looking tired and a bit washed out. I had been given some Boots vouchers for Christmas so decided to explore the make up counters. I was attracted to the Chanel counter as it is a brand I know and trust. I asked the sales adviser if she could recommend a foundation to make my skin look a bit brighter. The product she recommended was Vitalumiere, satin smoothing fluid makeup.

Chanel Vitalumiere comes in several skin tone shades and after trying a few I decided to buy the Beige shade. I really recommend you try a little on before buying to ensure you get the perfect shade for your skin tone. At £28.38 for a 30ml bottle, this is not a cheap makeup, but at least I was given a little free gift of moisturiser.

The make up comes in a glass bottle with a pump action dispenser. Chanel say that the dispenser will deliver exactly the right amount of foundation for one application. However in my experience it doesn't and you will probably need a couple of pumps.

I use my fingers to apply the foundation although for best results you should use a sponge. The make up glides on really easily and feels lovely on my skin. It is very light too. It has a gorgeous scent that reminds me of sun tan cream!

Having applied the make up, I can really notice a difference in my skins appearance. Chanel say that this make up will give you a rested, youthful radiance, not sure I'd go that far but my skin does look brighter. The make up contains a sun filter so will help protect your skin against those nasty free radicals too!

Overall I ma very pleased with this foundation and will be buying it again. It is very expensive, but a little goes a long way. It really does seem to reflect the light as the name suggests! Chanel is widely available both from high street stores and from some Internet sites.
