Advantages: total bargain, works well, reliable
Disadvantages: small packaging so it can get lost easily!
As you may or may not have noticed from my previous reviews, I'm a big fan of lip balms and if I go into a shop and see a lip balm that I've not tried yet I'll buy it without a doubt! I chew my lips when I'm anxious, nervous, worried, waiting on something or just out of sheer boredom. It's a terrible habit that has a real impact on the condition of my lips, and I tend to do it less when I'm wearing lip balm/gloss/stick so I'm often on the look out for a good quality balm that tastes nice, goes on easy and heals the state of my lips due to my anxious chewing! I've tried nearly every balm on the market, from the cheap and tacky to the expensive yet ineffective so I've had a fair few surprises! In my local asda I had a few pounds to spare (which usually means I'll head straight to the beauty section) and I picked up a chapstick in cherry for £1 and figured I might as well give it a go. If it's good enough for Katy Perry it's good enough for me!
Price:
£1 from asda, I've not seen it for anymore expensive than this anywhere else.
Impression:
The packaging is simple with the trademark 'Chapstick' design so when you see it you instantly know what it is! It comes complete with a rotating bottom so that you can spin it round when it starts to wear down allowing you to continually use the product with ease and an easy to remove cap that looks very sturdy and airtight, preventing any nasties from getting in. When I first inspected the product the very bright red/purple colour put me off a bit because I'm not a big fan of colouring my lips but the colour of the product doesn't transfer onto my lips which I'm quite happy with! The smell is subtle but definitely smells and tastes like cherry without that artificial smell/taste that comes along with alot of other lip balms! Back to the packaging, it's a very easy product to carry around with you at all times. I just pop it into my bag when I'm heading out and you can practically carry it around with you at all times as it fits snugly into the smallest of pockets!
Results:
My chapstick is my new go to lip balm, I put some on before facing the wind and rain outside and also every morning and night. I've noticed a massive difference in the condition of my lips and it moisturises very well and lasts quite a while so I've noticed I've cut down on biting my lip! One thing I love about this balm is that I never feel that I'm actually wearing anything and I often forget I have it on! I'm quite a simple girl and even though I've tried and tested a lot of make up products I don't wear a lot of it and I hate that 'over done' look so this lip balm really suits me. My lips have never been so soft and moisturised for such a small price.
I would definitely recommend this product, it's worked an absolute treat for me and I've had this product for nearly 3 months and it's still going! For such a bargain I've now got super soft lips that're now in the perfect condition to brave this horrific weather and to also give some lovely smooches :) there's a reason why chapstick is an old favourite and that's because it's a fantastic product at a total bargain!
Summary: brilliant product :)
