I am a regular user of blusher products during my day to day make-up routine. I am not however a regular user of Clarins products, I normally buy Clinique products but this spring/summer blusher make-up caught my eye and I decided to give it a try.
The Clarins brand is a well known and quality brand, it is a French cosmetics company and founded in 1954 by a student. The product comes in a glossy, compact bright red and glossy box, even this oozes quality. The Clarins branding is a lovely gold font and the product description is embossed on the box with this. The blusher packaging itself is a bronze/gold metal casing that is about 2 x 2 inches in size. The case is opened by pulling the indented lip in the top of the casing. The detail in the product is lovely, with a small engraved 'C' in the lip and an inside mirror.
The blusher inside is lovely to look at, I much prefer when make-up brands make an effort with patterns and pressed powders, especially when they are so expensive. This Clarins blusher is called colour breeze and the name suits it. The blusher has a number of colours present, the main colour is a pinky beige which makes up the majority of the face powder. On the top of this is embossed flowers or as I like to think of them as little windmills you used to buy at the seaside! One is a deep pink colour and the other a pale brown.
These extra colours don't last the whole way through the blusher and give little extra colour or shading whilst they are there. The colour is not as pink as I would like, it is more a matt beige than giving a bit of colour or pink glow that I have become fond of recently. Having said that, this blusher gives an amazing silky covering over my skin given a very even and smooth colour. It has no extra oil properties and has really good staying power.
The powder is very light and easy to apply with a nice big blusher brush, you simply swipe it across the blusher and then brush onto your face, cheekbones etc. Once applied I do not need to reapply this at all during the day.
This Summer Breeze is part of the collector's edition and the price is slightly more than a normal blusher from Clarins, costing £30. This will easily last me up to six months, so worth the money for me. A brush is not included. This is available at Clarins counters, Boots and online.
