I bought this product because i wanted something i could wear day to day on my face that would protect my skin against UV rays. Most moisturisers and foundations only seem to go up to SPF 15 and i wanted more protection than that, but i didn't want to buy sun screen as it is too greasy for my face and only really suitable when on holiday.
As well as protecting against the sun with its SPF 25, it has filters in it to protect your skin from all the pollution in the city air.
I apply this after my moisturiser, it can be worn under make up providing an excellent base for foundation and because it has a tint to it it can also be worn on it own. On its own it provides light coverage like a tinted moisturiser and evens out skin tone.
It doesn't feel heavy or greasy and hasn't made me break out. My pores looks smaller and it seems to make my skin more matte and less oily. Since wearing this, the overall appearance of my skin has improved.
It costs £15.50 and can be bought with SPF 40.
I used to work in London and boy did that damage my skin. I would come home every evening and my skin would feel dirty. I found this product and it was a godsend. It really blocks all pollution and protects skin against rays. I wore this every day and my skin improved immensely. It also has a very minute light colour in it and some days when rushed this would suffice over spending time putting foundation on. But of course it depends how you feel with no makeup on! I also use it as a primer under my foundation as it helps keep it on. Although this may not be correct according to makeup artists but it works for me!
I would recommend taking this on holiday also for those days of not wearing makeup by the pool but perhaps start off at a stronger level of spf then reduce down to this.
It retails at roughly £12 for 40ml (Debenhams).
It's only let down is that it is quite a small tube so if you use it religiously like I did then it won't last a long time (4 months for me).You do the math as it doesn't work out much per month for protected skin! A small blob does go along way if evenly applied.
It has a sun cream scent which I think is refreshing but if this is not to your taste then this scent doesn't last long.
Although this Sheer version may be less oily than the normal Super City Sunblock, it still has that ghostly, silvery effect. Also, you can easily get other facial sunscreens with higher SPF, yet with less oily texture. It works well to prevent sun-burn, but still feel sticky under make-up because it's physical sunscreen. It has a nice packaging, though, which looks very sleek in your handbag, if only you can put it on over make-up, which unfortunately is not the case. Like most clinique products, it is not really technologically advanced, but use conservative ingredients in nicely presented containers/image. But this Sheer version is definitely better than the normal one if you have oiler skin.
i went through a clinique phase. i surfed their website and wanted to get every sort of skincare product they had. when i was younger, my mom always told me to stay out of the sun because it was harmful, it makes me darker, all that stuff. i couldn't see it before, but now that i'm older, i understand better. i guess from that conditioning, i am now 'afraid' of the sun, and hardly ever go out to the beach on a hot summer's day. in fact, never. too hot :) i come from a south-east asian country - malaysia - anyway, the land of perpetual summer. i needed to get another tube of sunblock and decided to give this one a try. i wanted as high a protection as possible, so the lady at the counter introduced me to the clinique super city block. i must say ... i love it. it works as a sunblock but to me, it just might work like a foundation too! that's because it's slightly tinted, and because i have fair skin, it works well on me. once you rub it in, it disappears ... and the lady did tell me that it works invisibly, so it shouldn't matter if your skin's a bit darker. when i put it on, i not only know that i'm protected from UVA and UVB rays, i also feel fantastic because i feel as though i've got a bit of a complexion-perfector on as well. it doesn't give that 'covered up' look like normal foundation can. it's very lightweight, i can hardly feel that i'm wearing it. that's really good because i've got normal-oily skin. because it feels so nice, i'm convinced and motivated to wear it everyday. at the moment i live in australia and we all know about the sun over here (i hope), so protection is very important. i didn't heed my mom's advice when i was younger not only because i couldn't see what all the fuss about sunblock was, but also because i hated the feel of sunblock on my face - sort of heavy and very troublesome to bring around. clinique's super city blo
ck is in a green tube with a silver screw cap and looks modern & makeup-ish :) so in a nutshell, this product is really good, and i'll definitely stock up with the same product again. i've yet to try "weather everything", but so far this works really well for me!
I had meant to buy Clinique's 'Weather Everything' because the sun is out and I needed better protection against UVA and UVB rays, but when I went to my local Boots store, they had ran out. The counter lady managed to recommend me another of their sun protection which is the 'Super City Block SPF 25'. According to the label, it doesn't use any chemical sun protectants (I wonder what it means?) and it's oil-free. It doesn't irritate my skin and it absorbs quickly leaving a non-greasy physical protective layer. I was a bit apprehensive about the product at first because it is slightly tinted, but I noticed that it disappears into the skin which makes it suitable for any skin colourings. You can use this product around the eye area where it is affected most by the sun because the skin is so delicate. This product also proves to be a very good make-up primer. So, effectively, the two-in-one function of this product makes it well worth your money. I feel confident that I am getting good protection without the need to reapply every once in a while.
Perfect for the summer, this gives light sheer coverage, combined with SPF25 to protect your face and filters to protect your skin from all the gunk in the city air. The coverage is quite light, and doesn't really cover serious blemishes, but it does even out skin tone, and it's great for warm weather, when you don't want to look like you're wearing lots of makeup. It works well as a base too, worn underneath normal foundations, which don't tend to have the same SPF levels. Price is about £12, but a tube seems to last a long time (I've had my last one for 6 months and I still haven't finished it).
