      Disadvantages

A great powder compact if you're prepared to pay the price.

I've used many different types of powder foundation and I'm always trying out new ones! As a result I end up with alot of half empty compacts with varying different brands, apart from my Clinique Clarifying Powder.

I first found out about Clinique's Clarifying Powder after I had been on Clinique's website. I had been wanting to try a Clinique foundation or powder for a while but I wasn't sure which was the best option for me. I discovered a handy little feature on Clinique named the 'Foundation Finder.' After you have carried out a 'Skin Report' they tell you which foundations are the best for your type of skin. I have quite combination skin, it can be quite oily at times, dry at other times, and I suffer from blemishes.

I like to wear powder over my liquid foundation to give a better coverage to my face, which has a few large pores and acne scars. Clinique state that this powder has a matte finish, and a sheer to medium coverage.
A great factor for me is that Clinique state that this powder has an 'innovative formula' contains anti-blemish ingredients, this will obviously be perfect for my skin. It says a benefit is that it helps keep skin clear and controls oil.

It says to apply the foundation after the 3-step skin care system using the sponge to ensure a smooth application. I am currently using Clinique's Anti-Blemish range Step 2 (Clarifying Lotion) and Step 3 (Moisturiser). I don't know any of their face soaps everyday, however Step 2 and 3 have been great for me, but I wouldn't imagine them being important if you wanted to use just this powder!

It comes in 4 shades, 01 being the lightest and 04 being the darkest, it isn't recommended for any with a skin tone over 'moderately fair.'

The powder comes in a lovely green marbalised effect, square compact. It has a silver 'Clinique' sign on the front side which acts as the button to press in to open up the compact. It has a little mirror and the sponge with of course, the powder itself.

I apply this powder after I have applied the Clinique Superbalanced Foundation, it glides on very easily and it's noticeably smooth. I use the lightest shade as I have very fair skin and it matches really well. It's also a very good coverage and takes away any excess shine left over from the liquid foundation. I've found the powder stays on my face easily throughout the day, apart from my chin area but this is my fault as I'm often resting my chin on my hand at my desk in the office!
I can't say I've noticed a difference concerning my blemishes, as I have good months and bad months concerning these, and I wear other foundation too which won't help. I do love the smoothness of this foundation though, and it's nice to know I'm wearing something which won't help the cause of blemishes.

The powder is quite pricey though, at a pricey £18.11 for 11g! I have found though that this powder lasts me about 6 weeks, and I tend to usually buy my Clinique products when there is a free gift going or it's Bonus Time, which happens quite alot with Clinique!
