I got a selection of these as a giftset. I got 6 colours in half size so I cannot comment on price unfortunately. Full size full price they cost £14.50 each which I think is about right for a high end quality lipgloss. There are 18 shades in the range and my favourite ones are 'Kissy fit' which is a pink colour with sparkles in it and 'Juicy apple' which is the brightest red in the collection. I also cannot comment too much on the packaging due to my packaging looking like a two ended lipgloss. Mine is a see through plastic, nothing special and it states it has SPF 15 in it. It doesn't have too much of a high end product feel to it in my opinion.
They suggest that the lipglosses last 8 hours and I'm telling you now they cannot unless I'm doing something wrong. They are long lasting but not to that extent. I tend to wear these on a night out and they tend to last 3-4 hours before i need to reapply. The transfer easily onto glasses etc so I had to reapply.
I also find the formulas to these incredible sticky. Never had a gloss so sticky! It is very difficult to spread across your lips when applying and it is so sticky it can be very uncomfortable to wear on its own. To combat the problem I bought a cheap clear lipgloss just to give it a bit more liquid to spread it out over my lips and stop my lips sticking together and that's done the job fine. The only good thing is that because they are so thick, they hide the crevasses and cracks on my lips and make them look smoother and evened out.
I have to say despite the stickiness I love the colours and always use them. They are quite well pigmented and they have some shine and sparkle to them which i really like.
If you can get around the stickiness with another gloss these work a treat. Love them on a night out.
On a recent clear out of my makeup bag I came to realise just how many lip glosses I actually own. Lip gloss tends to be one of those items that I see in a shop, like the look of, buy on impulse and then relegate the one I'd been using up to then to the bottom of my handbag or the back of my 'overflow' drawer. One that I found lurking at the bottom of my makeup bag was a tube of this Clinique Long Last Glosswear. I have no idea how I came about having this one, although my tube is only a small one so I suspect it may have been part of one of my mum's duty free gift sets.
PRICE AND AVAILABILITY
As Clinique is such a big brand this is available in many department stores and larger branches of Boots (or boots.com). A quick check online shows Boots sell this for £14.50 for a 6ml tube (as suspected mine must be a travel sized one as it's only 2.3ml), which of course accrues advantage points for you as well, or there are also some available on Amazon for £10 plus delivery. Still quite pricey for a lip gloss I think.
I was quite surprised to see just how many shades this is available in. I have it in the Tenderheart shade, which is a nice pale, slightly corally pink colour, but on the Boots website there are 18 different colours available altogether, mostly variations on pink, but with some brighter ones thrown in there and also some verging on a cream colour. Whatever your colouring or makeup preferences, though, I would imagine there would be a shade to suit you.
One of the things I like most about Clinique products is that they don't skimp on their packaging - and for the prices they charge nor should they! Their items always have a quality feel about them and even when the packaging is plastic it feels like good quality, solid plastic rather than the flimsy specimens some companies use. This lip gloss tube is no exception. The tube itself is a clear plastic, meaning you can see easily how much is left inside, and the lid, housing the applicator wand, is a contrasting silver colour.
Their branding is usually quite simple and this is no different. The Clinique name is written on the clear part, along with the name of the product, the fact that it is SPF15, allergy tested and fragrance free and a warning to stop using it if it causes irritation. And that's about as much information as you're given! I do like the packaging as it's nice and simple but quite elegant at the same time, although I suspect the fact that it's so understated might be one of the contributing factors in it being able to hide so easily at the bottom of my bag!
The lid screws easily from the tube to reveal a white spongey type of applicator. I prefer these to the squeezey tubes of lip gloss as they give a much better finish and are easier to apply with precision. When I use the squeezey ones I inevitably end up with way too much product glooped all over my lips. This applicator, however, doesn't seem to hold too much product so it is very difficult to apply too much of it. One plunge of it into the tube isn't enough to coat all of your lips, so as it takes two or three attempts to get full coverage it means you have a much greater control over how much you're using and so don't waste any.
The gloss itself is like most other glosses, quite thick and gloopy and on application that's quite similar to how it feels on my lips too. It is easy to apply with the wand and just glides onto your lips smoothly without leaving any litle clumps of gloss, which others I've used have been guilty of doing. The colour it leaves behind is very subtle in the case of this Tenderheart shade, which is exactly what I want from a lipgloss anyway. If I do wear makeup I tend to focus more on my eyes and so generally have a neutral colouring on my lips. Tenderheart is such a pale pink that it gives a barely there colour but adds plenty of gloss and shine to my lips.
It is, however, quite sticky and leaves my lips feeling well-coated in gloss. If I purse my lips together I can definitely feel that they're layered with something. This seems to be something that happens with all lipglosses however and, even though it's not something I particularly like, I've gotten used to it now.
Once applied this gloss seems to last for a couple of hours but I always need to reapply if I have a drink or something to eat. It's not a product that you can apply and expect it to last a full night out or shopping trip, which means having such a small sample tube actually comes in handy because it's so small and light I hardly even know it's in my handbag and if I'm not taking a bag out with me it actually fits into my purse too.
As this wears off quite quickly I've never had to take it off with the rest of my makeup so I've just done a quick experiment for the sake of my review and it comes off easily with one of my usual face wipes (Nivea), so I assume it would pose no problem to other makeup removers either.
Whilst I do like this lipgloss and the barely there colour and shine it gives to my lips I don't think it's any better or worse than other, much cheaper brands I've used so I think it is quite severely overpriced. I wouldn't buy it myself and I won't be repurchasing when this tube runs out. Whilst it does have some redeeming features - the nice packaging, the variety of colours, the SPF 15 (although that's wasted on my as I would never trust a lipgloss to provide sun protection and would always use proper sun cream if going out in the sun), I still don't think that the full RRP is worth it. If I were to pay that much for a lipgloss I would certainly expect it not to feel so sticky and gloopy as cheaper brands but that is not the case with this one and so it gets 3 stars from me.
I am a huge Clinique fan. I think their skincare range is fantastic, and most of their lip and eye products are reasonably affordable. I quite liked the look of this product, and I liked the fact that this lip gloss had SPF 15- ideal for holidays and skiing. It looked fantastic on, very shiny, glossy, almost mirror effect. It was very long lasting, and didn't really have a smell. My only issue with this lip gloss is the consistency and the texture. It felt as though I had sand or sugar on my lips every time I spoke. I never kept it on long, without washing it off because it was so sticky! It felt horrible and made me feel really self concious, which was a let down because as I've said I'm a fan of Clinique and it isn't the cheapest lip gloss on the market!
It was absolutely impossible to master a windy day looking good whilst wearing this lip gloss. My hair would get stuck to it, and end up greasy. Over all, it wasn't a very enjoyable experience!
Although, if you can persist with it, it does look very good! Gives a very dramatic look, more suited for a night out than the day- but if you can pull it off, why not!?
I Do not often wear lipstick as I find the colour a little too much for casual days sometimes but I like to wear something on my lips as they often get chapped and need a little moisture and so I like my gloss. Clinique has been a major hit with me I find there products are really high quality and although they cost a little more than other products they are well worth it.
The gloss comes in a transparent bottle with a twist off lid which has the application brush attached to the lid.The top of the application brush is very soft and has a good size oval shape padding on the application brush so it is very easy to apply the gloss correctly and quickly.
The gloss is not runny in fact it is the perfect consistency only 1 sweep of the lips is needed and they are fully covered. The gloss is very light and is hardly noticeable on the lips and stays moist all day although on appearance they do not look wet which is great. It is not sticky and heavy like I tend to find with a lot of glosses and so is very nice to wear and I can just forget it is on.
The colour in the gloss is brilliant and vibrant the colours are deep and very noticeable but at the same time the colour is not too loud and off putting. The gloss comes in lots of different shades and there is a glisten to them which although adds a little sparkle which is noticeable and attracts eyes to the lips it is not over powering and therefore a perfect little addition to this gloss.
The gloss for a very long time I can apply it before work in the morning and after lunch my lips feel soft although the gloss itself is not visually noticeable. So although it des not last the claimed 8 hours on visual appearance the protection from the gloss does last the full day which is fantastic.
I would recommend this gloss to anyone it is long lasting with a really nice glisten to the colour which stands out but is not over bearing. At £14 it does seem a little high but as it lasts for so long without need for re application and the quality of the gloss itself I think it is well worth the extra.
~Glossy lips at a price!~
Having been lucky enough to have snapped up a few Clinique products that were given out as free gifts when buying a certain well known magazine a few months ago, I have been using these nice freebies on and off and found them all to be worth the few pounds spent. One of the better freebie products given out at the time was the lip gloss product that Clinique call their Long Last Gloss Wear. In use I have found that this is an easy to wear make up item that stays on for a number of hours after initial application before it needs topping up. It does wear off more quickly if you have eaten or been drinking from a cup or glass, as some of the gloss does come off and stays on the cup or glass which means you may have to top up your gloss a little sooner than normal (which is to be expected).
~Ease of use/ product presentation~
The gloss comes neatly packed in an easy to use clear toned plastic type tube and can be popped in to a handbag or make up bag for use as and when required. I feel the overall presentation of the product is neat and minimal and nothing more, there is not much about the product case that looks special in terms of its finish, which you might expect from a more pricey lip gloss product such as this one. The lid of the lip gloss tube has a simple silver toned effect and offers a neat and modern finish to the product, as well as offering a secure grip for your fingers when using it to hold on to as you apply some of the product with the wand style gloss applicator.
The actual applicator at the end of the wand is small and compact and perhaps not as padded out as it might have been, which does mean that over time as you use the gloss, this will wear down giving a slightly less soft feel when applying the lip gloss. I wouldn't say that this is an unusual thing though, as many similar applicator wands do end up going the same way once the product is near the end of it's usable life and as the amount of gloss in the tube is reduced at this point, it means that you only have to put up with that for a short while until the gloss is fully used up.
I have found that the texture of the lip gloss in the product is good with it being neither too thick and gloopy or sticky, nor too thin and runny so that it bleeds onto the skin over a short period of time when in wear. The array of colours that can be bought seems to be good as you can choose from a range of around 19 colour options, which I feel means there should be a colour to suit most moods and make up looks. I rather like the light toned Guavagold shade as it looks nice worn on its own when you have a light tan and works well for wear on summer days too. I have found it can also be worn over a darker base shade of matt lipstick if wanted, to create a more vivid and dramatic evening look.
~Built in SPF~
These glosses come with a built in SPF of 15 which means they can be of help when worn on sunnier days as they offer a small degree of sun protection which is a bonus. The gloss is also smooth and easy to apply with it keeping lips moist and glossy looking for a number of hours before you need to top it up. I do find that over the course of a few hours if I top up with too many layers of lip gloss it is best to take the whole lot off with a clean tissue and apply some fresh gloss from scratch, as this helps to avoid that slightly claggy feel that you can get when over doing the layers of product.
~Rating and price~
At full price these lip gloss tubes sell for around £14.99 which does make them a more expensive buy, as you can pick up some very good lip gloss products for nearer half that price. I do feel that whilst these are nice products you are in many ways paying for the brand name rather than any real extra benefit over other similar products that can be bought more cheaply. Having said that I do feel this is a nice product that lasts well and has a good range of colour options, yet with a higher sale price it does make them a product that may seem rather over priced for many make up buyers. In spite of this slight issue with the pricing I do feel the lip glosses are nice to wear so I want to give them a 3 star rating. Had they been closer to £9 to £10 per tube I would happily have given them 4 stars.
Clinique is one of my favourite Beauty Brands so when it came time to buy a new Lipgloss recently I was optimistic that I would find a great product amongst the Clinique range. I had been using quite cheap lipglosses for a while and they just weren't lasting very long on my lips and getting used up very quickly as a result of havingh to keep reapplying them, so I was definetely looking for something that would last on my lips.
It was in Boots that I saw this product and even the name Long Last Glosswear made it sound like the one for me as that was exactly what I was looking for. As an added bonus it had an SPF 15 factor which is handy to stop my lips from getting dried out on hot summer days. It was priced at £14 which is expensive for a lipgloss and higher than I would usually pay for one, but I figured the quality would make it worth the money and its durability would mean it wasn't a waste. There were several shaded available, too many to list and that did make it difficult to choose which one I wanted because they were all so nice, but I was looking for a light pinkish shade so I opted for the one called Kissyfit.
The design of the tube itself is pretty plain as with most Clinique products but that doesn't bother me as I'm usually very happy with the product itself. It has a screw on/off lid and a regular lipgloss applicator brush which is a nice size and easy to use. The first time I applied the gloss was just before I left for work at roughly 4pm and I found I had to apply it quite thickly to get full coverage on my lips and I was already thinking "Oh dear this is going to get used up fast". Once it was on though the colour and shade was lovely with a subtle shine so I was pleased with that. The gloss claims to last up to 8 hours and since my shift at work was only 3 hours long, I was confident it would last me the night. But as I arrived at work at about 4.45pm the lipgloss was practically invisible on my lips and instead of seeing lovely pink glossed lips in the mirror, instead they looked quite bare and just felt a bit sticky! A big disappointment considering the price I'd paid, I'd expect even a cheap lipgloss to last more than 45 minutes!
Clinique rarely let me down but I'm afraid this one was a big let down and apart from its lovely shades there is little else good about it which is such a shame. I'm actually surprised that there are quite a few good reviews of this product because for me it just didn't do the job.
If you are looking to give a lovely gloss effect to your lips then you cannot go far wrong with this excellent lip gloss from Clinique. It is also supposed to provide some protection from the sun with spf 15 protection but I have no idea whether it really does and after all a wet British Bank Holiday Monday and to be honest if I wanted to protect my lips from the sun then I would go with a proper lip block product.
Expect to pay up to £15 for a 6ml tube. I liked the angled applicator that is contained in the clear tube and sits on top of a silver lid, the angle of the applicator makes it really easy to apply in a smooth sweeping motion. In all there are 18 shades (I think) to choose from, I have a couple on the go at the moment, the goldspun which is a very pale tone and bamboo pink which is basically a lightish pink colour.
There are a couple of things that I like about this lip gloss, the first is that it has a very even, smooth feel to it and it is very easy to apply, secondly I was impressed with how long it lasts, it pretty much does a night out on one application, you may need two if it is a long night but I reckon that it comfortably lasts a good six to seven hours which is not bad for a lip gloss.
My lips look great when I use this product, nice and glossy and the colours are nice and varied so it is easy to find ones that suit your skin tone and the type of look you are going for. It is a little bit too sticky for my liking but that is all about getting the balance right between feel and how long it will last.
I would certainly recommend this lip gloss despite the price not being that cheap and it does pay to shop around online or look for any special promotions.
I had some Boots advantage points and decided to use them to buy myself a Clinique Lip gloss. The one I opted for was their Long Last Glosswear SPF-15. It sells for £14.00 for a 6ml tube. The tube is clear giving you a good idea of the colour of the lip gloss inside. . The pot has a silver lid with the applicator attached to the inside of it. The applicator doesn't actually seem anything special for the £14.00 price tag but it is slightly shaped and adequate for the job.
My local Boots had a good amount of colours to choose from but their website (www.boots.com) actually offers 19 colour choices:-
Goldspun, Milly pink, Sunset. Rock Violet, Bonfire, Guarvagold, Juicy Apple, Air kiss, Clearly Pink, Kissy Fit, Fireberry, Cabana Crush, Whisper, Tenderheart, Stellar Plum, Mystic, Brandy Twist, Bamboo Pink, Knockout Nude.
There's bound to be a colour to suit most people. I chose Stellar Plum. Its a nice deep pink/plum colour. Clinique state that their Long Last Glosswear stays put for 8 hours. That's quite a claim for a lip gloss and I was a bit dubious as to weather it would last this long.
The gloss in the pot looks quite shimmery, almost pearly but once on the lips I found this pearly effect was not quite so evident, the colour isn't so dark on my lips either.
When applying the lip gloss the wand sweeps across the lips with ease. The applicator is slightly shaped to make it a little bit easier. I had no problems coating my lips with this gloss. It went on smoothly and evenly and gave my lips a fantastic shine, they really were glossy.
I don't often wear lip gloss for work I like to keep glossy lips for evenings out but I was keen to try the long lasting effect of this one so I tried it on a work day.
So, I guess the question is Does it last? Well yes it does! I was very impressed. I had beautiful glossy lips all day. However, there's often a down side to most things and with this product its the actual staying power that is the problem. The gloss is far too sticky but that's the price you pay to make it last so long. My lips looked good all day and I got several comments and people asking what lip gloss I was wearing but to be honest I found the stickiness hard to bear. I was lucky I was indoors all day because when I finished work and went outside it was a bit windy and this lip gloss is a nightmare with long hair. My hair just stuck to it like a magnet.
Having said that though my lips didn't feel dry when I took it off as I do find some glosses dry my lips out.
Over all I would say this gloss does what it promises. It gives beautiful glossy lips for up to 8 hours but to achieve this it seems it has to be incredibly sticky. It has a SPF of 15 which is always a bonus as it gives your lips a little bit of protection from the sun but personally I would rather buy a cheaper lip gloss and re apply through the day or evening.
This long lasting glosswear by Clinique is one of the several items I got free in my free gift by Clinique that I received a while ago. It is only a mini version and is only 2ml compared to the usual 6ml size that Clinique sell.
The colour is a very light pink, it does not state the name of the shade but judging by the colours shown on the Clinique website, I am pretty sure it is 'air kiss'. There are many other colours available ranging from pinks to golds, some bold and some more subtle colours. Air kiss is more of a subtle colour and so I don't see much change in the colour of my lips after applying this.
If you like glossy lips and not much colour then I would recommend 'air kiss', I cannot recommend any others as this is the only shade I have tried. If you like colour added to your lips by a lipgloss then I would not recommend this shade and instead opt for one of the more bolder colours.
As I got this free I cannot complain about the colour. I would have preferred a more bolder pink instead but I still make use of this lipgloss by applying it over my lipstick. It not only makes my lips very shiny and glossy, which my lipstick does not, but it also makes my lipstick stay on longer.
The gloss itself is very sticky and when applying it with the applicator brush (which you can see in the picture above) it does need a few strong strokes on the lips otherwise it won't transfer from the sponge brush onto your lips much. I am not used to the feel of lipgloss like this on my lips as I usually just wear lipstick or one of my other colour lipglosses which I don't think are 'sticky' compared to this, however it doesn't put me off using it, it just takes some getting used to!
I always need to top-up my lipgloss a lot, especially after having a drink or eating. I am not sure if this glosswear lasts for 8 hours like it is supposed to. Personally it has never stayed on my lips for 8 hours but then I have yet to discover a lipgloss that does! I always ignore the part when products state how long they last, as I never believe they actually do.
This costs £14 from all Clinique counters, which can be found online, in Boots and Debenhams. I think this is quite expensive for a lipgloss and I have never paid this much for any lipgloss before. Therefore the price would put me off buying this after I have ran out, even if they do have other colours available that I would like more than this one.
// CLINIQUE LONG LAST GLOSSWEAR \\
Clinique sell this lip gloss for £14.00, I find this is quite pricey but if you can afford it I would recommend you buy it because its probably one of the best lip glosses I have come across in a long time.
Clinique's lip gloss doesn't look anything special, its a very simple looking clear tube in which you can see the lip gloss, the lid is silver and has a pattern on, it is a twist of lid. The wand which is attached is nothing special either, very simple.
Spread over the tube is the Clinique logo and the name of the product and a little bit more information.
Over all, when I look at this product it doesn't amaze me and I don't expect anything special from it.
I was given this at Christmas, I received a gift bag from my OH aunt which contained a lot of Clinique samples, when I got the lip gloss I was curious to try because Clinique is such a big expensive brand, and I just got a lot of stuff for free! I was delighted!
The colour which I got was Juicy Apple which is a very vibrant hot pink/red. I thought the colour was alluring and just looked so pretty, I couldn't wait to try it out.
When I twisted of the lid to apply it, the wand was just perfect, it glided across my lips so smoothly and applied the perfect amount of the product. The colour came out just as it looked in the tube, very bright and vibrant, it looked very flattering but unfortunately I couldn't pull of the natural look with it as it was such a bold colour, I left this just for my nights out!
There was no shimmer/glitter look about the lip gloss to which really impressed me, I hate extremely shimmery lip glosses, they can ruin a great gloss and make it look extremely tacky, this looked so elegant and sleek.
The colour stayed on my lips throughout eating and drinking and would last a good 3/4 hours, OK! So maybe it is meant to last for 8, but still 4 hours is great! and it only seemed to transfer a little bit too.
It really left my lips looking and feeling moisturised, it didn't feel sticky at all, I could even see the effects of what the gloss had done after I took this of, they looked like I had been sticking vaseline on them for the last few days, so soft!
The product has no taste or smell to it, it also contains a sun protector factor of 15, bonus!
I loved this product and it was all gone before I knew it because I couldn't stop using it, it was such a flattering colour and looked great on.
There are also other gorgeous colours to choose from, when I finally have enough money I will go out and buy it in a more natural shade, and maybe also treat myself to the same shade again for nights out!
Highly recommend this, its a great product :)
When Glamour released their March issue, I, along with many other women I am sure, snapped up several copies in order to get my hands on a number of Clinique goodies which were being given away free. I got three products in all, one of which was a tube of Long Last Glosswear.
Clinique was founded by Evelyn Lauder, daughter in law of Estee Lauder, in 1968 as the world's first allergy tested, dermatologist driven line. I find this somewhat ironic, as the one time I tried the 3-step skincare system (some years ago now), it was disastrous for my sensitive skin and I couldn't wait to get back to Simple. However, there was no reason (hopefully!) why a lip gloss should have the same effect, so I was happy to try it.
***Long Last Glosswear***
This product is a lip gloss which claims to provide "8 hours of moisturising shine". It is available in a number of shades, from pale pink to brown and a brighter red. The lipgloss is 100% fragrance free and it has been allergy tested. It has a SPF of 15.
***Price and Availability***
Clinique products are available from retailers including Boots and Debenhams. This particular lip gloss retails for £14.
The product has quite a clinical appearance; it comes in a clear tube which shows the colour of the gloss, and a silver coloured lid. The lettering on the side is also silver. I'm not personally a fan of Clinique packaging, as I much prefer Lancome and the like which have more luxurious packaging. However, there's nothing particularly offensive about the tube.
As I got this lip gloss free in a magazine, it is smaller than the full size product (just over 2ml, whereas the full size lip gloss contains 6ml). The packaging doesn't state what shade it is, but it's basically a pale pink gloss. The gloss goes onto the lips with the usual style of sponge applicator.
I found the gloss easy enough to apply but found it felt quite sticky and gloopy on my lips. I've experienced this before, however, and find that the sticky lipglosses tend to be the ones that have the most staying power, so I'm willing to put up with this! The pink colour looked nice on my lips and my lips looked full and glossy.
I found the lip gloss definitely had more staying power than some others I have tried. However, it certainly didn't last for eight hours. It lasts between two and four hours depending on whether I eat or drink anything in that time. This is reasonable although slightly disappointing given the claim.
I like this lipgloss - it has pretty good staying power, makes my lips look nice and doesn't dry them out. I don't know if I'd be willing to pay £14 for it though, except for one thing - the SPF. Most lipglosses don't have this, so in the summer I would be willing to buy this lipgloss again. In fact, I've put this one away to save it for when I go on holiday!
Clinique Long Last Glosswear
I love clinique and in this months glamour magazine (april issue) they have been giving away clinique products - travel size - I picked up three of the magazines with three different products in. The first one I picked up was the 7 day scrub (see my previous review for information on that product) and I also got the moisture surge moisturiser and then this product. I have been using it for about two weeks now and I have to say that I really like it but it does have some negative points.
*About the product*
As it was with glamour it is not the full size product, it is the travel size and it comes in a see thought tube container with is 2.3ml or 0.07 fl oz. As with all of the clinique products I have tried it is allergy tested and 100% fragrance free. it has an SPF of 15 (as your lips can get sunburn too) and it comes in glamour magazine as the shade 10 air kiss.
*What Clinique say about it*
"Lip gloss juiced up with 8 hours of lasting shine. Spends every minute comforting lips. In 18 glistening shades from sheer to full intensity. Moisture makes each one even more mouth-watering. Protects lips, too."
*Packaging/lip gloss tube*
I like the packaging as with most of the clinique products I have tried as they look quite expensive (probably because they are a bit) and the packaging look sleek and simple. The wand/lip gloss applicator is really nice too, it is a good size to just fit my lips, it applies the product well and it is soft on my lips.
When opening the tube all you do is twist the top of the wand and with the one that I have, when you unscrew it is pushes its self up out of the tube - which is rather handy but it does look a bit weird, anyway...
The shade in the tube looks really nice, it is a medium pinky colour and it has really really small shimmery particles in it which are gold in colour. This gives it a really nice finish especially when it catches the light.
The when the lip gloss is on my lips it is more subtle a colour than when it was in the tube. It still has the really nice gold shimmery particles in it but the actual medium pink colour is more subtle. The pink colour does show up on my lips but not as strong as it is in the tube. I don't mind that is a less strong as I don't wear bold lip colours anyway and this product makes my lips look glossy, moisturised with a hint of colour and a slight shimmer.
Before starting this review I looked on the Clinique site for this product and I found the air kiss (10) shade that I have and on the site the description of this shade is perfect but the swatch/picture of the colour is totally wrong. On the site it shows this shade as a really light pink and not what it actually looks like - although the description is correct for the air kiss shade.
*How I use this product/Application and Results*
The first few times I used this I was not impressed with it at all. I was just using it on its own with no product under neath or on top and it made my lips really really sticky and it was not nice to wear. The application on its own is a bit difficult as the actual product is sticky so the application of the product pulled on my lips slightly and it did not taste nice either (not that you should really eat lip gloss...)
Then I put some of my kiko lip balm (only available to buy in italy I think - I bought mine from Taormina in Sicily) under neath the lip gloss and it transformed the product.
With a lip balm under neath it makes the lip gloss so much easier to apply, there is no pulling on my lips and the product just glides on to my lips with no problems. The lip balm under neath also made the lip gloss not sticky at all, which is great as sticky lip gloss is not a good thing!
So I would suggest that if you are going to buy this product (either in glamour magazine or the full size product) then I would put some lip balm/salve on first as it will make the application easier and the end finish nicer and not sticky.
With the lip balm and gloss on my lips now look great, they look moisturised and glossy. With the balm and gloss my lips do not look dry at all and they also do not look flaky.
When I put this product on in the morning, if I don't east it probably last about 2/3 hours and if I drink it comes off a bit on the glass. It does need to be reapplied through out the day and in my opinion the actual product does not stay on my lips for the 8 hours clinique claims the product does. But even when all of the lipgloss has been rubbed off or transfered off my lips I find that my lips are still really moisturised and not dry at all!
Overall, I am really happy with this product. The application is really quick and easy with lip balm underneath and it makes my lips look great and there is no dryness or flakiness either. The shade is really nice, it looks great when the light catches it - although be aware of the inaccurate colour/shade representation on their site.

I have the travel size product which is still in glamour magazine for a couple more days - but they are really hard to get hold of. Glamour magazine is only £2 which is fantastic as you basically get a travel size clinique product for £2! The full is version is not actually very expensive either - although there is only a 3.7ml difference between the travel size and full size! There are a lot of shades to choose from - 19 to be precise.
The full size can be bought from the following sites/stores:
Clinique site: 6ml: £14 (debenhams, house of fraser, harrods and john lewis are also £14). Yesstyle.co.uk and ebay may sell it cheaper.
*Easy to apply (with a lip balm under neath
*Easy to take off
*Leaves my lips glossy and moisturised with a hint of pink and shimmer
*Shear subtle colour means that is look more natural on my lips and it is great for day and evening wear
*Moisturising (non drying) effect of the product stays on my lips even when the gloss has gone
*Nice packaging and shades
*Not very expensive
*Transfers fairly easily
*Inaccurate shade representation on the clinique site
*Really sticky and difficult application - unless a lip balm is used under neath it

Thank you for reading my review - this review will also be posted on dooyoo under my user name tigger1992 x
As some of you may know, recently I won a fabulous hamper at Boots! I have always been a bit dubious about Clinique items, after reading some very good, yet very bad reviews on it, however, as I did receive it for free I didn't think there was any harm in trying it!
Clinique is a make up brand which can be found across many stores, some of them including Debenhams, John Lewis, Boots, also their online stores such as boots.com.
After looking on the Debenhams website I saw that it was priced at £13.50 and £17.49 with delivery, so I would personally recommend buying a few more items from here in order to make it a fairer price, or buy from somewhere where it comes with free postage.
I have seen a couple of shades of this lip gloss, however, mine is a bright, vivid looking pink that has very fine sparkles / glitter in it. It claims to be a long-lasting lip gloss, hence the name and also contains SPF 15, which is always an added bonus. A lot of lip glosses I have had in the past claim to be long-lasting, but it is another story as to whether they work or not and in most cases they don't, so I didn't have that high expectations for this.
The lip gloss is a medium length tube, however, is really quite thin and narrow a tube. It has a silver lid that is screw top and when you open it the brush is within the lid. The tube itself is clear in colour, which allows you to see the colour of the lip gloss you are purchasing. It also has clinique and the make / style written down the side of the lip gloss in clear, sliver lettering.
The brush is made of sponge like material and is in a fixed, slanted position, which is not my style of choice, but none the less they seem to work.
When applying I found this lip gloss was extremely sticky and it felt a bit like having toffee apple stuck on my lips. It was not gloopy or too thick, which I was pleased to see, it was just very sticky. Due to its stickiness I did find it a little hard to apply as it tended to cling and stick to the lips, rather than being easily spread out across the lips.
I also found that when first used the colour was quite pale and it needed a couple of coats in order to achieve the colour that you can see through the tube.
Once I got the knack of how to apply it, it became much easier, you just had to make sure you had quite a lot of the gloss on the brush and almost dab it along the lips rather than brushing it from side to side.
~Finished look / colour~
I was very pleased with the finished look! It almost had this mirror edge to it in that when it hit the right light it did not look like a colour and just reflected the light, much like mirrors can do. Also after wearing if for 5 to 10 minutes I found that the horrible first stickiness I had experienced seemed to fade away, either this, or I had got used to it!
It was a very shiny lip gloss and is definitely one for the more girly as it does have sparkles / glitter pieces in it. This can also feel a little grainy when wearing on this lips and feels like tiny pieces of sand had become trapped in your lip gloss, but strangely enough I somehow also became used to this.
The colour was also lovely, despite taking a few coats to achieve it, I was thoroughly impressed with it. It was a bright, bold colour, however was also subtle so that no-one would stare if you crossed the road. The fine glittery pieces didn't detract from the colour and instead just added to the prettiness of the colour.
~Was it long lasting?~
This has to be the best lip gloss that I have ever used for time wise. Long lasting was exactly what is was. I applied this and managed to talk, drink and even eat for a solid 3-4 hours before there were ANY tell tale signs that it was coming off. I was so impressed with this and most lip glosses that I wear struggle to last half an hour without even talking, eating or drinking so for it to last this length of time I was almost shocked at.
My expectations for this item were far lower than they should have been and this lip gloss, to me, is one of the reasons why Clinique has such a good name.
However, this may be due to the fact that when it came to removing it I did find this a little hard to remove and it was a little stubborn. Though it comes off very easily with either some cleanser or a make up removing wipe, but if you want to get it off quickly simply using the back of your hand or licking your lips won't do. I think that lip gloss is worth this very minor bit of difficulty though in order for it to last so long!
My overall opinion is that despite some of the problems I had when applying it I absolutely love this item!
I love the way this looks once on, it is such a girly colour that is bright, yet still subtle enough for every day use. I would definitely recommend this item and I would even consider paying the full price for this item. It is the most long lasting lip gloss I have ever worn.
For me, I feel I can't give it the full five stars due to the difficulties I had when first applying it, meaning that I am going to give it an ever so close 4!
Clinique gave me this in a free sample when I bought two of their products (you may already know that Clinique give away a lot of freebies!)
~Packaging and Apppearance~
Clinique Long Last Glosswear comes in a long tube with a silver lid. The container is transparent, so you can see the shade inside. My colour is Air Kiss, a pale pink that I loved, but on the Clinique website it looks ivory in colour! From a distaance the lipgloss looks matte, but if you look very closely you can see tiny glitter flecks. I had high expectations for this lipgloss, because it was long-lasting, plus it had SPF 15 in it, so it would protect my pout from the sun.
The lipgloss was very thick and sticky like treacle, because the applicator was quite hard to remove from the bottle, it had to 'wade' through the lipgloss! It is also the stickiest lipgloss I have ever worn - it stuck to my lips like glue and was so thick, my lips could hardly breathe! It did protect my lips from the sun's harmful rays but was it long lasting? Not a chance - it only lasted an hour before disappearing off my lips! What a disappointing lipgloss, from Clinique too!
Clinique Long Last Glosswear is £13.50 for a 6ml tube. I wouldn't bother forking out for this lipgloss, it's not woth the money - buy L'Oreal Glam Shine instead - it's much better and value for money!
Clinique is a premium skincare, cosmetic and perfume brand under the ownership of Estee Lauder.
Long Last Glosswear is one of several of Cliniques lipglosses. The lipgloss comes with SPF15 for basic sun protection and is available in 18 colours in thw UK. The colours range from clear to pink and lilac to brown shades.
Clinique promise that the lipgloss will last up to 8 hours on your lips and provides a sheer coverage whilst moisturising lips.
Clinique glosses are allergy tested and 100% fragrance free.
I have the small GWP size lipgloss though the full size is almost identical except a bit chunkier.
The lipgloss comes in a long, clear, hard plastic tube with a shiny silver lid. The applicator is built into the lid and is a long white wand with a spongy applicator at the end.
The writing on the tube is in silver writing. The Clinique logo and product name is on one side. Further around the tube you will see some ingredient information, size of product and some warnings. The colour is on the bottom of the tube on a sticker.
Removing the wand couldn't be easier. Simply screw off the lid and pull the wand out the tube. Alot of gloss may come out and will need to be wiped off the sponge applicator.
Clinique recommend using this over their All About Lips or over lipstick for a fuller look.
The gloss is quite thick and the colour is intense and life like of the shade you see looking through the tube.
*Availability and Price*
A fullsize version will set you back £13.50 from the Clinique website. Large department stores with Clinique counters will also stock this gloss. You can also pick this up on ebay at a cheaper cost.
I have a 2.3ml GWP size that I received in a GWP Bonus Time Set. Look out for these special events in departments stores. Buy 2 items from the range and receive a goody bag stuffed full of trial size products. Lipglosses are often found in these sets and it is great to try before you buy!
I sell Clinique on ebay and regularly buy joblots from America as they work out cheaper than over here and the likes of Macys do well better sets than Debenhams! I got my travel size Clinique Glosswear in shade Tenderheart in a gift set that I split up. It looked pretty and I felt like treating myself so I kept this!
Clinique products come in stylish yet basic packaging and the lipgloss is no exception. The tube is quite plain though the silver writing and lid give it a bit of a modern and sophisticated image. The wand is a perfect length and the applicator is soft yet no soft enough that it bends and gets the gloss all over your face!
I love my glosses and usually wear quite a natural shade so I was in two minds about Tenderheart as its quite an dark pink. I had to scrape quite a bit of the gloss of the applicator into the tube as I feel it releases a bit too much. Once I had done this, I applied to my lips. I don't wear lipstick so this was applied to bare lips.
The gloss went on perfectly smooth and didn't taste of anything. It was rather sticky but once I had puckered my lips together it lost its stickiness. The colour once settled was quite dark and darker that what I would usually like but once my makeup was all done, it didn't look too bad. The gloss does give a sheer and a tad wet look appearance. My lips felt soft and any imperfections were smoothed out nicely.
As for lasting 8 hours, well I love to lick my lips alot and I eat and drink constantly so I need a gloss that stands the test of time. 8 hours is a bit over generous in my opinion and I had to top up twice between 9am and 5pm when I was out.
If I were to buy this gloss again, I personally would look for it on ebay or in another gift set as £13.50 is rather expensive.
Overall it is an ok lipgloss, its nice on the lips if not a bit sticky on application and 18 colours is a good range but its a bit on the pricey side.
