“ Brand: Clinique / Type: Powder / What it does: Bronzes, „
This has to be one of the best bronzing powder sets I have even bought the True Bronze Shimmering Tones Bronzing Powder is made by Clinique and you can still find it available in some department stores for about £25, which is about average for this Clinique product.
Packaging for this item is a thin yellow/beige/pink classic Clinique patterned box which is barely bigger than the bronzing set inside, there is a small leaflet with some instructions and that is that. The bronzing powder palette comes in a transparent, plastic case which is square in shape with dimensions of approximately 6 cm x 6cm and a depth of 0.8cm. The plastic casing is very thick and can withstand being bashed about in your handbag.
The palette is the width and length of the case it comes with so you get good value for money with the amount of bronzing pressed powder you get. There are three or four different shades of bronzer across the palette, in a varying chequered arrangement. There are darker shades of bronze through to lighter shades within the palette squares which are each about 1cm square. In total there are nine of these on the bronzing set. This is a shimmering bronzer, and it really does add a glowing radiance to your skin. I wear this for both work and nights out as although it is very shimmery you can be either bold or more subtle with how much you apply. Unfortunately you cannot really differentiate whether you have a lighter or darker shade on as the squares are very small but the overall effect is fabulous.
One thing I find slightly substandard for the price you pay for this item from Clinique is that you do not get an application brush with the set; you must buy this separately or use one you already have. The set could also do with a mirror for applying on the move, but I find that they generally get clogged up and messy with loose powder anyway so I do not think this is too much of an issue. Brush wise I would recommend a large applicator with long hairs that is able to swipe the entire palette surface.
The texture of the powder is quite dry and it doesn't flake off or accumulate loosely in the case whilst not in use. This also helps with application so you don't put too much on at once. You can also use the squares as individual eye shadow colours so its a very versatile piece of make up.
This product is fragrance free and hypoallergenic, if you can get hold of one you won't regret it! 4 out of 5 stars for the fact you don't get a brush included.
Im am extremely fair skinned, so its easy for me to look orangey with most of the bronzer products out there, but I do like this Clinique True Bronze Shimmering Tones Bronzing Powder. It is a little compact that consists of 9 little squares of bronzer in 3 different shades. The idea is to take your blusher brush and swirl it over the 9 squares, so you get a good mixture of all the shades on your brush, and then to lightly brush it over your face wherever you want that sunkissed look.
The advantage of the different coloured squares is that you can build up the result on your face as you please. This allows you to create a more natural look than if it was only one colour bronzer, or with bronzer pearls, as you can shade or highlight. Furtermore you can also use it as eye shadow, so it really is a handy little essential.
My only complaint, or rather wish, would be a little mirror on the inside, but oterwise a really nice product as always Clinique!
Swirl together and sweep over face for an allover luminous glow, or brush on cheekbones to highlight / Can also be used as eye shadow or to highlight brow bones /
